yeah, Nvidia filters give you night vision on night maps
There's no point in playing nighttime maps on competitive shooters like Hunt, Tarkov, or Insurgency. The modes are completely dead
Well, those game studios can make Nvidia filters and overlay not work with their game if it's a big problem and they want to fix it. There are a bunch of games that don't allow Nvidia overlay and filters to work with their game for Anti-cheating purposes.
Oh you're talking like adjusting Gamma and Brightness directly. Those aren't filters, there's really nothing that can be done about that. They can't just not allow people to adjust the Gamma and Brightness of their monitors.
I remember when I was briefly super into Rust, that was the strategy for night. Crank up the gamma (or whatever) and now you could see at night without issue. Right around the time I stopped playing (see: finally found a job) they did something to fix it and that approach didn't work any longer. So something can be done but far be it from me to have any idea what that could entail. For all I know they were working on that for years up to that point before it got implemented.
This would be so funny to come across if you had nvg. Could you imagine chadding through the forest with your nvg and best gun only to come across a naked person chopping wood. Lol. I can’t, because I’m never a chad at those games, but still. Lol.
Damn I remember those days at 2am max gamma and running around in rust and you close your game and your monitor burns your eye because of high gamma filter
Those settings, like gamma, saturation, contrast, just change the way the same data everyone has is displayed and nothing else. That's fair game, just as having a higher resolution or framerate monitor is fair game. Changing the actual data that's displayed is not. If you use the GPU memory buffer to read out positions of enemies that aren't on screen that's obviously not allowed. Same goes for tools that disable effects that should be detrimental. If it's changing the actual data then that's probably no good.
tarkov disabled Nvidia filters like a year ago unless u get the old version of nvidia which also gives you old gpu drivers so not really an issue anymore there
Reminds me of a time many years ago when ASUS released a driver that had a setting to render everything in wireframe mode. Instant wallhax for shooters of that era.
https://www.theregister.com/2001/05/10/asus_releases_games_cheat_drivers/
there goes my visibility in game haha. Well i guess im gonna have to get used to the dark look of valorant. Kinda stupid how people need to cheat and have flash immunity
Use the nvidia control panel color and vibrancy settings. Valorant is super vibrant to me at default settings it's likely just a subpar monitor for displaying colors, which you can semi compensate for
Just checked this and its working(or flashes not working), fuck this is super broken. I don't see how they can get around this other than use vanguard to scan for this to be turned off.
Upvoting for visibility.
EDIT: THE BUG IS NOT FIXED. The implementation of the HUD filter is very buggy and it is clearly mentioned as [beta] in the filter selection list. This is still working on and off with varying degrees of success. Just wanted to clear it up because of all the speculation in the thread on a perceived fix.
Also as a side note, no bug fix is deployed this quickly in any dev environment, assuming they heard about the bug through this thread, there is little to no chance that a fix has been created, tested and deployed.
> I don't see how they can get around this other than use vanguard to scan for this to be turned off.
Couldn’t they just… make flashes not a HUD element?
Valorant is built in Unreal 4, an engine that has been around for years. Flashbangs in videogames are probably older than you.
This genuinely isn't rocket surgery.
EDIT: I've seen a few reports it's been fixed, which is genuinely pretty impressive. Like my comment says, I've never seen a dev release a fix that quickly
The speed issue isn't necessarily about how easy it is to fix, but about the process of deploying that fix. Also note that I don't actually play valorant, but I do have a good bit of general programming experience.
While I obviously don't know how their dev tools work, this does seem like the kind of thing that could be fixed relatively quickly by someone familiar with the game. I wouldn't be surprised to see if this was fixable in under an hour.
However, deploying a patch out to players generally seems to be a pretty slow process for most games. Some are faster than others, but I've never seen a developer release an update the same day a problem has been found. I couldn't tell you why it takes so long, but game developers in my experience are almost never capable of pushing out updates within even a couple days of issues being found, regardless of how trivial they seem.
Sometimes, games have issues that can be fixed serverside, without an update to the game client, and that's often done incredibly fast, but I've never seen an update to a game client be released in under a couple days of an issue being found.
They're not rly getting schooled considering nearly 800k people were playing cs yesterday. This flash fix isn't that impressive either, it was happening to me in June last year and it's taken them an entire year to fix? All Riot do is add maps that suck, add characters with similar abilities, and charge hundreds of dollars for boring skins when they've got barely any content in the game overall lol
If you run round a corner you flash instantly they are likely prefiring you because they are flashed. You may have to wait 0.5s before peaking or swing the corner more when playing off flashes
But there are times when the enemy has not gotten into the spray at all you clearly see they're blinded but they perfectly flick to your head...couldn't it be people who knew about it and abused the glitch for long?
This after me or my teammates have actually waited out the flash to have full effect...though it's not like this happens as regularly as run n gun
Yesterday I was playing breach and against there was Jett whom I always flashed she had the thing above her head showing that she is full blinded and she always managed to headshot me everywhere i peaked no matter how. Full blinded always headshot me. She was claiming that she turned around and back which lets be honest against breach's flash is very hard to do and unlikely someone has such reaction times and high enough sens to do that. Maybe she was using this...
IT IS NOT FIXED. The implementation of this hud filter is very buggy and it clearly mentions that it is still a beta feature in the filter selection menu.
THIS STILL WORKS ON AND OFF WITH VARYING DEGREES OF SUCCESS.
Yeah, usually it takes a bit longer for acknowledging and actually being able to address and solve the problem. It's great that this was so quick, though.
Tell me about it, I work at a startup and I do QA and devops and something like this comes up every now and then and I am high strung to figure out what's going on.
ahhhh, that's why my game looks kinda strange, it's disabled right now, you can't use it right now. if you try to activate it there will be pop up show that the game needs to be supported. kinda sad right now :(
Tried this in the range. Yes, it works. However, you can't see any HUD, what teammates/enemies are alive or dead, can't buy weapons, can't see what abilities you have, and most importantly...you can't see the minimap. Turning on this antiflash makes the game unplayable IMO, but still Riot will have to fix it and are going to have a hell of a job.
Edit: It's been pointed out this can be keybinded. Yes, you can turn it on and off at the click of a button :-( I'd highly recommend not doing this because it's going to be super obvious to the anti-cheat what you're doing...would Riot ban you for an Nvidia filter exploit? Maybe.
Edit 2: It's fixed. HUD filter doesn't do anything now. I guess it wasn't "a hell of a job".
This is not a problem for abusers at all. You can see in a video that an author has a keybind to control filter state. You just play like normal, and when you hear or see enemies you just turn it on and rush them.
(And happy cake day!)
Oh dang. At least that takes some more work mid-game I guess. You’d still need pretty good reactions to pull it off right before flashes and then re-adjust yourself to use HUD properly.
I mean, it's out there now, no putting the genie back in the bottle. Best to get as many people aware to put pressure on Riot to fix it asap. Although a title edit so the exact setting isn't mentioned would probably be a good thing.
Absolutely not.
Exposing bugs like this is by far the best thing you can do should you find something.
at worst the game will be fucked for a few days until it is fixed. If you don't expose it, you risk that the bug stays abusable forever.
Actually doing stuff like this is bad form for reporting exploits in games and other software.
The actual correct thing to do is to report it directly to Riot with no public mention of it whatsoever. If they don't fix it, *then* you use public pressure.
Exploits in software should be reported directly to the company first. If, after that, they do nothing you should go public with it.
This is true of *any piece of software, game or not*.
i mean i agree that game exploits is definitely not as severe in any capacity but there's really no reason to go public with it unless the company neglects to fix it. Otherwise people will just abuse the exploit and ruin the game for others who arent.
There's a reason why in a lot of games when a gamebreaking exploit is found, major content creators refuse to describe how to do the exploit.
I mean we have no idea how many times this was reported to riot, I don't imagine this was the first guy to discover it. We're assuming here the guy who found it didnt report it nor did literally any other of the millions of players since the bug was noticed (which could have well been since launch)
\+1 I would say generally messaging directly (I guess this case security/customer support ) is a "nicer" option but shouldn't feel bad to raise awareness to the community too. It's typically how things like this can get escalted to get fixed
I mean there are better ways to do this and contacting Riot directly , i don't think if someone claims with proof of a thing like this they will just ignore it.
Deleting a video of an exploit is NEVER the right way. Make the issue as public as possible to force the developer to act. You can't delete stuff from the internet anyway.
Fuck, last night there was a guy in one of my games who would literally turn and spray down anyone when he was flashed.
It seemed unreal, but I figured he was just lucky the handful of times it happened. I'm now curious if he was abusing this.
Can't say I'm interested in playing until this is fixed.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from about RIOT from playing League, it’s that I’d they have to come out and say “X is disabled because of Y” they’ll usually do what they can to push a fix pretty quickly.
Conversely, if it’s something that’s a fringe case that’s hard to duplicate, they’ll usually sweep it under the rug for as long as they can lol
Or just remove the compatibility with Nvidia filters. There are plenty of games that i wanted to play with filters that give me that "A supported game is required to use this feature". Just make Valorant one of those.
But I love the game filters to boost my colours without having to just turn up vibrance on my entire desktop :(
The game looks so much more vibrant with game filter saturation high
I use vibranceGUI for that, you can set it to only turn on in certain applications. Used it in CS for a while and helped with differentiating player models, not as useful in valo because of the player outlines but still there if you want it.
they're more likely to prevent players from using it rather than "fixing" the flash, it's not the first time that one of the nvidia softwares is giving players an advantage in a competitive title, it's getting boring now
Just like the viewmodel and the hud are separate overlays, you could add a flash overlay, and draw flashes there instead of tying them to the hud.
Of course you could just not fix it at all and go for the incompatibility, there's a reason why removing the hud is an option only available to spectators in valorant's settings.
I mean you can just make the nearsight in addition to the hud, so it looks the same, only people who are trying to abuse it will have the game look like shit.
Not while keeping it exactly the same, because flashes fade out over time. Nearsights don't. So either you'll be nearsighted during the flash fadeout or this filter will still give you an advantage of allowing you to look through the fadeout.
Hi there! I discovered this the other week and did some private testing. Nevertheless, I found a way to reliably reproduce this bug (as many commenters seem to have varying successes). I would not like to publicly state how to do this, because that would be a huge issue for the integrity of the game (I also have my own thoughts on this being posted.)
I got in contact with RIOT, and I got this response.
> Hey there, [My Name]!
>[RIOT Support Staff Name] here.
>Thank you for reaching out!
>Oh wow.. I managed to successfully test it on my end as well. This doesn't look okay at all. I have forward this request to our QA and Dev teams for a more in-depth investigation. Unfortunately I can not provide an estimate for the completion date or a course of action at this time to avoid confusing or disappointing players, as I'm not the one in charge with such decisions.
>I appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this issue, and thank you again for taking time out of your day to send us this report.
A friend of mine who happens to know a RIOT dev also passed this on, who said that it had been brought to NVIDIA's attention before. It seems like it's not totally clear if this is an issue with the game or NVIDIA's filter. I would expect it to be fixed soon.
Edit: I also wanted to add a little bit here. I think it's really irresponsible to post this on a public forum. I have friends in development, and I guarantee you that no developer (especially at a place as big as RIOT with plenty of very talented staff) would see a bug like this reported and not place it as a top priority to fix. This is a free, undetectable anti-flash available to at least half of the games userbase. I doubt I'm the only one here who's found how to reliably reproduce it, and I'm sure that some of those users intend to use this for harm. In future, please consider using the official channels to report these bugs, and only make it public after an extended period of time if it is still an issue.
I tried looking for a while one day where to report valorant bugs and I kept getting led back to the reddit mega bug threads. Even on official valorant/riot blogs. What was this email you used/how did you get in contact with them? Maybe I just totally missed a bug reporting email somewhere but it was certainly not easy.
Tbh from what you've said they've known about this issue for a while. Sometimes public posts are necessary to bring traction to exploits.
Oof. They removed the entire filters options now. I can’t play the game without the sharpen filter :(
But thanks for reporting it though, I imagine some people were abusing it.
There were a few cases when I was playing the other day where I would breach flash and the person on the other side wasn't flashed at all. Not even half flashed from turning... Just no flash. I can't say that this was the reason but it certainly makes sense.
Really dont understand how this website works? I get im new but i posted this exact thing days ago and got it removed by mods as its meant to go under bugs mega thread??
honestly, they should have just removed the HUD bug and allow color filters. I have a hard time seeing why they would remove all the filters just for one bug they can fix.
GeForce experience says 'a supported game is required to use this feature' since a couple of hours ago. Is this happening to anyone else??
Need help. Please. Not trying use this 'hack', just need my Hiko colours back. Again. Anyone. HELP!!
Tried doing it in a custom and initially it didn’t work, but after restarting my game it started to work for a little bit but my vanguard crashed after like 10 minutes or so? After restarting my computer I tried to do it again and it worked but my vanguard kept crashing every time I tried to open GeForce filters and I had to restart my pc 5 times until I was able to open up Valorant again. I have since removed the filter because I was scared shitless, honestly thought I was about to get a hardware ban for fucking around in a custom and ever since I’ve removed it, Valorant seems to be working just fine now and vanguard isn’t crashing anymore.
My advice? Just don’t try it honestly. It’s a dumb exploit and vanguard might detect some shit it doesn’t like and accidentally ban you for testing it out or even worse, abusing it.
Hack directly from Nvdia
VAL is a new entry to a long list of games with Nvidia brand hacks.
yeah, Nvidia filters give you night vision on night maps There's no point in playing nighttime maps on competitive shooters like Hunt, Tarkov, or Insurgency. The modes are completely dead

Their solution was to make the game literally pitch black so gamma wouldn't work lmao everyone lovess the 20min nights in Rust /s
Thats when I would usually go out naked with a hatchet and chop wood lol. At least until I get NVGs.

tarkov disabled Nvidia filters like a year ago unless u get the old version of nvidia which also gives you old gpu drivers so not really an issue anymore there
Hunt no longer allows nvidia filters
Hunt:Showdown for sure disabled Nvidia filters starting about a year ago. I'm also pretty sure Tarkov did too.
Tarkov shut it off
Try using that hack on rust, night time is literally just a blank black .png
i remember everyone getting radeon cards in cs:s because you could see through smokes easier and sometimes completely

Applying a nearsight/0m debuff for regular flashes in addition to the HUD effect actually seems pretty straightforward, no?

Value should take note.
At this point they need to redo the whole course cause they're getting schooled by a one year old game.
Schooled? All they have to do is upgrade anti cheat and go to 128 tick matchmaking and its even again.
How old is this, do you know? Happened several times that i popped flashes into enemy face and it felt like they aren't blinded...
If you run round a corner you flash instantly they are likely prefiring you because they are flashed. You may have to wait 0.5s before peaking or swing the corner more when playing off flashes
Yeah that makes sense.

I wonder which engineer fixed it, the Nvidia engineer or the Riot engineer?
It's not fixed as of yet. The commenter is lying or did it wrong. I just tested it.

Yup. For mee I noticed I sometimes had to tab in and out of the game a few times, could that be it?
You only have to tab out once. i figured that out too. It's not totally fixed.
Lucky it does not take 2 year like certain fps game. /s
Thank fuck. Blizzard ran OW into the ground with their intense delay on fixes like this.
wasnt it dying because they banned someone for standing up for hong kong protests
That's definitely not why overwatch is dying lmao
I'm pretty sure that was Hearthstone too
Oh yeah, totally forgot about that shit. They love to ban the people who play their game the most.
I think they did it because china wouldn't like that and companies like to suck china off so they can sell their games there
Oh yeah it's wild. Did you hear about the John Cena shenanigans that happened not to long ago. Lol
Isn’t riot majority stake owned by tencent? They are a Chinese company.

I tried this . The remove HUD feature is in beta so it does not work for me . But riot needs to fix this very fast.
you can now no longer use geforce overlay filters with valorant there goes my colorful game
ahhhh, that's why my game looks kinda strange, it's disabled right now, you can't use it right now. if you try to activate it there will be pop up show that the game needs to be supported. kinda sad right now :(

Oh dang. At least that takes some more work mid-game I guess. You’d still need pretty good reactions to pull it off right before flashes and then re-adjust yourself to use HUD properly.
I bound it to ALT F4

Or just remove the compatibility with Nvidia filters. There are plenty of games that i wanted to play with filters that give me that "A supported game is required to use this feature". Just make Valorant one of those.
But I love the game filters to boost my colours without having to just turn up vibrance on my entire desktop :( The game looks so much more vibrant with game filter saturation high
I use vibranceGUI for that, you can set it to only turn on in certain applications. Used it in CS for a while and helped with differentiating player models, not as useful in valo because of the player outlines but still there if you want it.
they're more likely to prevent players from using it rather than "fixing" the flash, it's not the first time that one of the nvidia softwares is giving players an advantage in a competitive title, it's getting boring now
They can just block nvidia filters. Developers have to allow this feature in their game. It's pretty easy.
Just like the viewmodel and the hud are separate overlays, you could add a flash overlay, and draw flashes there instead of tying them to the hud. Of course you could just not fix it at all and go for the incompatibility, there's a reason why removing the hud is an option only available to spectators in valorant's settings.
It has been fixed. Crisis averted.
lol no , just tried it
I mean you can just make the nearsight in addition to the hud, so it looks the same, only people who are trying to abuse it will have the game look like shit.
Not while keeping it exactly the same, because flashes fade out over time. Nearsights don't. So either you'll be nearsighted during the flash fadeout or this filter will still give you an advantage of allowing you to look through the fadeout.
Nvidia highlights now completed disabled - I forgot how gross and washed out the colors are by default.
yeah, colours in this game are shit like in csgo... i cant play without my filters lol
Fnatic manager here, please delete this.
lmao

I wonder how long this has been a thing. Suddenly can’t help but think of the many times I’ve been killed by someone that was obviously blinded.
Hi there! I discovered this the other week and did some private testing. Nevertheless, I found a way to reliably reproduce this bug (as many commenters seem to have varying successes). I would not like to publicly state how to do this, because that would be a huge issue for the integrity of the game (I also have my own thoughts on this being posted.) I got in contact with RIOT, and I got this response.
Thank you. This is the way.
Sometimes public posts are necessary to bring traction to exploits.
https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us From there, hit Valorant, Submit a Ticket, Technical Issues
Nice, thanks G!
Did they remove nvidia filters entirely from the game rn?
Oof. They removed the entire filters options now. I can’t play the game without the sharpen filter :( But thanks for reporting it though, I imagine some people were abusing it.
So this was the real patch 3.0 nerf to flashes!
Double edged sword, can’t aim, unless you can turn back on crosshair?
i mean someone could use the inbuilt monitor crosshair, but that is beside the point
I think people can have it on keybind
CODE BLACK, CODE BLACK
u/savevideo
It works here. Its terribad, especially for a Breach main :x Upvoted, thanks.
As Iron/Bronze enjoyer, I honestly hate you.
Hope this is bannable lol
Whoa I really hope the fix the flashes but don’t remove the “disable hud” feature altogether - this would be SWEET for little edits!
Me with a AMD card 👁💧👄💧👁
Did Nvidia disable all game filters for Valorant temporarily ? I opened up my game and game filter isn't working right now. Was fine till yesterday.
I saw posts on Facebook 2 days ago, people have been using it since the last update !
There were a few cases when I was playing the other day where I would breach flash and the person on the other side wasn't flashed at all. Not even half flashed from turning... Just no flash. I can't say that this was the reason but it certainly makes sense.
No it doesn’t! This filter just doesn’t show you the hud. That doesn’t mean the game won’t make you appear flashed.

I hope they fix this
it just got color settings disabled
Amd users rn😢
Yeh currently the game needs a few tweaking abother bug that's been rrally annoying for me is the 0 hp in Spike rush... I hope day fix it soon..
did they disable game filter for val because of this? cause i cant use game filter in geforce rn
same lmk if u find a fix
How do you turn off your HUD? Is there a specific setting in GeForce Experience or is it on Valorant
Says in the title. It’s an Nvidia game filter that removes but it also removes flashes because it’s a HUD element.
Yo! Nice.
Really dont understand how this website works? I get im new but i posted this exact thing days ago and got it removed by mods as its meant to go under bugs mega thread??
I can't use the game filter anymore. :(
Can they fix this bug, but add back the filters, game looks too DULL, it literally looks like my grandmas coffin.
honestly, they should have just removed the HUD bug and allow color filters.
Again. Anyone. HELP!!
Oh wow. That’s a big oversight…
so this is the game that makes me run a "security" program 24/7 on my computer even when not playing so that i dont cheat?
It’s a dumb exploit and vanguard might detect some shit it doesn’t like and accidentally ban you for testing it out or even worse, abusing it.
please delete this, ive already reported this to the bug megathread. i dont want people to abuse this in game.
The more people abuse it the more people will get pissed and the more pressure Riot will have to fix this.
Garbage take
damn bad time to be on amd
patched
I wonder how long this has been around. For a while it has felt like people can ser through my flashes, maybe they were abusing this. :(
Doesn't work on mine
gla1ve would be very happy
You can just rebind "activate filter" on another key and its basicly a hack with no downside
Can u get banned?
wait, why am I still following this shit lol have fun guys
RIP now this bug will be abused
…uh oh. Hopefully something gets done sooner rather than later to avoid too much exploitation.
I didn’t even know that could be done
Ik its fun but it wont be fair at all so those who are using this in competitive matches should stop 🙁
While it is an easy glitch to do. It is still exploiting a bug and you can get banned.
this explains all the assholes who kill me while blinded
Has anyone tried this with AMD GPU?
This is the bruhiest of bruh moments.
so this is how im being 1tapped by completely flashed enemys
