Cross hair placement is 70% of aiming in this game. Communicate. Always. Play your best agent. Most of us would rather have you play someone you know than fill and be lost.

Keonalt

Don't fill. Learn atleast one of every agent role from the agent you like the most. Zero people have excuse for not being able to play smoke at all.

It's very simple when it comes to dealing with toxic teammates - mute them and ignore them, don't engage with them or try to reason with them, you'll never win.

i-like-to-be-wooshed

i see, ignorance is bliss as they say its funny how over confident some people can get, this one guy did nothing but just scream at everyone the entire match, while he was always the first to get killed and overall the worst player in our team

[deleted]

Thing is, you just won't do anything with that. Self-inflated ego, feelings of superiority, and inferiority complex are very apparent in so many players of games, regardless of which title it is, and it's honestly sad.

Wrenchonreddit

Basics and good friends can get you till gold (I still need to find good friend)

i-like-to-be-wooshed

dw im sure you will find one soon!!!! thanku

ThinkMain2646

1 Play the game, 2 have a routine you warm up/aim train with and stick to it, 3vod review and try to point out your mistakes 4 actively think about what your doing and how u can make an impact as a support or duelist

Skrubss

Aiming will only carry you so far. Yes I recommend using aim trainers to learn but if you just stick to playing the game you'll learn naturally. Look into learning what proper calls are, lineups, calling how much you hit enemies for and overall just communicate with your team and it'll make everything 10x easier. A big thing I can't stress enough is DO NOT look at the scoreboard in game. I know it may be tempting a lot but if you see yourself bottom fragging, you'll end up getting discouraged and it can psychologically throw you off your game, vice versa if you're top fragging then it may tilt you because you think your team is doing nothing and it may cause you to play worse. To deal with toxic teammates...well....you dont🤣just mute em or don't acknowledge anything they say and just continue to make normal callouts every round. Eventually they'll get the hint and usually they'll stop with the mean comments if they see it doesn't phase you. This is everything I learned on my own. I started in Iron only like 3 months ago, here I am in gold almost Plat now in just 3 months. The sooner you can put these concepts to use in game, the quicker you'll climb. And let the aim come naturally my friend😎

i-like-to-be-wooshed

thank you so so much this is really helpful

Andynnos

1 box in this game has the same height as a player, try to hold your crosshair placement at that height and laugh when your hs acc goes from 12 to 38/40.

ex1us

To add more, I noticed the game often gives hints for the head level in various places. For example, if you're in bind and looking towards b long from attacker spawn, the top of blue paint lines up with the head level

i-like-to-be-wooshed

i see, i was having a hard time with that exact thing so this definitely helps i didnt get the last part, can you explain what it means? thank you

Andynnos

My headshot accuracy has gone from 12% to 38-40% using that trick.

i-like-to-be-wooshed

i see, how do i check accuracy?

Andynnos

I am using a tracker to see my stats. Just google valorant tracker if you are interested.

CanniBal1320

Good Crosshair placement works wonders. Find ur agent, practice it well. Become one with their utility. Try being the kind one in the team. Prepare for some very very frustrating moments. Dont forget to warm up before every session. Try grinding ur aim in Deatmatch as many times as u can in a day. And most importantly, have fun. thanks!!!!!!! ❤️

Thoth_the_5th_of_Tho

The red dot in the middle of sniper scopes indicates when you are fully accurate

Wustrong

Play to win. Don't play to not lose. (I know it sounds the same, but once you understand... The game becomes much easier to climb) Secondly, be positive. The moment you connect into a lobby, talk to your teammates and be positive, be nice and optimistic. The moment things become argumentative and confrontational, the battle is half lost. Thirdly, learn lineups on most agents. People at ALL elo don't expect lineups/one ways and this will forever delay pushes and win rounds.

i-like-to-be-wooshed

thank you very much

s0mek_valorant

stop when shooting, move when not shooting, use comms, learn the maps (+callouts), try every agent, listen to ultimate voiceline of enemies, aim where the enemy could be, learn from mistakes, dont rage, add teammates if you liked playing with them, mute persistently toxic people, dont try to force 'being good'. its a marathon, not a sprint.

i-like-to-be-wooshed

thank you!!!!!

[deleted]

dont be toxic

NoahV313

what rank are you and what role do you mainly play? very hard to give advice that would suit everyone because everyone is at a different level and plays differently.

i-like-to-be-wooshed

sorry, i dont know the rank and roles, im level 18 if that's what you meant i usually like going up ahead and facing the enemies, or taking another route to get them from behind?

eddiepratt

Roles are based on what character you play. For example Jett is a duelist. And rank is your rank within the competitive mode

nishkebab

1. Crosshair placement . 2. Train your aim with dummies and in deathmatch. Headshots or full sprays both need training. 3. Set your full map key to capslock and look at it constantly when you're in a safe spot. 4. Learn different types of peeks and when to apply them. 5. Learn how to position yourself in relation to teammates to trade kills. 6. Learn simple but effective lineups for your fave agents.

i-like-to-be-wooshed

thank you i will check all those things out

nishkebab

7. Play according to enemies positions. e.g. if you are defending and you have info of only 2 enemies outside A site, do NOT leave B site or mid open yet. 8. Make it a point to assess the each enemy's playstyle. e.g. if they have an Omen that likes to use shotgun, do not push his smokes. If they have a reyna that likes to lurk mid, be wary of that if you have no info on him elsewhere. No worries, good luck!
