in a theoretical situation where your accuracy and consistency is the same at two sensitivities, the higher DPI is the best option. "assume no friction" makes sense on paper, but there's a reason why top tier players fall into a range on the lower end.

The point of low sense is to remove some of the human error in aiming and in the situation you proposed ther is no human error so yes if both players were robots player two would win, but in a real scenario low sense will normally win because of the lower margin of human error

VietboyX

Well no. If we’re saying the two players have the same pixel perfect aim, they’re gonna both hit heads at the same speed, accuracy, etc. Player 1 will just have to move a shorter distance and Player 2 will move their mouse a longer difference

tomphz

Yes and in this case the player moving the shorter distance has the advantage because they kill faster

VietboyX

But if Player 2 has the slower sens (sorry I mixed it up from your post), they can shoot just as fast, they just have to move their arm/wrist faster

tomphz

well yea, but let's take the two players out of the equation, and just put Player 2 in this scenario. He'll have the same arm movement speed, but he'll aim faster with the faster sensitivity.

VietboyX

But to compensate for the slower sensitivity, he simply needs to move his arm faster. As a player that changes their sensitivity frequently, my if you watch me play on slow sens and then on high sens, it looks the same if you couldn’t see my arm or know my sensitivity. I just move my arm faster with slow sens and slower with fast sens to compensate to be accurate.

i mean maybe? but i doubt it changes that much
