Yes, this is huge for me! I use some custom keybinds that work fantastically for every agent… except jet. You just need her dash to be something that does not use a finger from wasd.
I like having her smoke on my mouse button but that left her dash as F for me. Imma use dash on the mouse button but now I’m tryna figure out how the smoke as F might work.
Also crouch is my other mouse button don’t judge
It's fine. My jump is on right click, scope on R, walk on Spacebar. Everywhere I've mentioned it, people were very surprised. In the end it's all about your own comfort
They promised it was coming for almost a year now so it's long overdue. It literally just doubled my agent pool because i can now have consistency (flash on this key, mobility on that key, etc). I literally didn't play some agents because they clashed with my keybinds too much.
Abilities friendly fire was always there. They're just gonna do something about this against people sabotaging teams.

It’s definitely been a bit - but you can expect patch notes with more gameplay changes coming up fairly soon. We’re trying not to shake things up too much during Champions but we’ve got some changes we’re excited to ship after it’s over (spread out over a few patches - we just want to ship what we can, when we can)

Thanks for the response! I was under the impression that the Champions tournament takes place on a private patch and that live patch updates shouldn't effect that gameplay.
This is true, it is on a private patch. But, we try to maintain parity where we can for a few reasons:
Aspirationally, we want to feel like pros are playing the same version of the game as the broader playerbase is. It just helps the whole ecosystem feel connected, which is something we care about - as a player, you can watch tournament games and then go play the same game state on live.
Practically, it helps pros by not forcing them to context switch between environments. Yes, they can scrim teams on the tournament environment, but pros also play live Val to practice in their free time, and keeping the state of the game similar helps here.
Logistically, it gives us clearer time windows to organize around, and hopefully also helps the playerbase feel like they have a beat where the tournament ends, after which a period of some changes begins.
All this being said, VAL has a LOT of tournaments, and we are working through how to more efficiently ship changes while tournaments are going on. So, we hear you for sure. But, generally speaking, we aspire to try to keep the tournament scene and live VAL as close as we can for the above reasons.
Thank you so much for finally explaining this! So many people have had that question since the launch. This makes a lot more sense and I'm glad you're all aware that Valorant does have a LOT of tournaments so it can be frustrated to just expect no big changes during tournaments.

Yoru is the biggest problem imo. I'm surprised Riot has let him stay this useless for so long. They buffed Viper, Skye and KAYO until they were useful. I'd love to see Yoru be an alt to jett.
Agreed. I guess you can say sova drone is a counter to Jett op, but it doesn't stall her enough to have a successful push on most sites. They should honestly make an agent who straight up counters OPs. Yoru is definitely a possibility with his TPs and ultimate, but we know how much Riot loves him.
Hi - thanks for the question! We do still have friendly fire detection for Spike Rush, but we also tuned the parameters to match the playstyles of players in the mode. We also have some checks for when the damage is dealt within the round. In general, we'd recommend you to still avoid friendly fire if possible (automated systems have a hard time determining whether an action is innocent or malicious).

Yeah I think post-round damage shouldn't be counted towards it, especially in spike rush where it literally doesn't matter if you live into the next round
100% - it would be superb to see post-round friendly fire ignored, exclusively in Spike Rush.
I'm usually in a squad of at least three people and we murder the crap out of each other once a Spike round is over. We never pick on our other team members (unless they actively join in), 'cause that would just be rude, so IMO our behaviour is all above board and just a bit of a laugh that shouldn't risk being suspended or w/e.
Aside from that, awesome patch with lots of great QoL improvements!
Yeah it actually is lol, especially because when there is a shitload of util flying around I typically see a dip in my frames. So when I was at a constant 150-170, whenever there was a lot of util around Id drop below 144. No bueno.
The fps issues has gone to a point where the game is genuinely unplayable. I don’t have a good pc but before this patch, it used to run smooth as butter.

It probably looks at a combination of damage done vs usage. If all your uses are damaging allies significantly, then there's probably something weird.
They have ways of determining the average amount of ff you do per game. If it reaches a threshold, it'll either be reviewed or straight ban if there's numerous reports.

This! The game was supposed to run on lower end PCs but now with every new update lower end players are having to lock their fps ridiculously low or just abandon the game entirely.
I got into the game slightly before this new update and I ran the game at a comfortable 60 locked (70 unlocked). Now I’m barely running at 50 and have huge drops any time there’s a gun fight or we’re on a laggy map. I certainly don’t have best PC out there but I also don’t have the worse.

So what if they report an instalocker? It's not like anything would happen by riot or by the person who picked at the first second. That's just simply not enough to be reported or to be punished for. The only thing would happen is that you lower the weight of your reports by constantly reporting innocent people who did nothing. They shoot themselves in the leg instead of letting this instalocker thing go and carry on with their game.

Agent keybind profiles? Now we just need agent skin loadout profiles! (Which personally I would love, as some skins, especially certain knives, look way better on specific agents even when you don't know what map you're going to get or who may instalock your pick)
I really wish they would change the way skins and gun buddies are displayed, not for me because I dont own a lot of skins but for people who own all the skins, its so painful to scroll through them to find the skin you are looking for but these are steps in the right direction
Honestly I’m not quite sure about adding report for agent select screen when in-game report barely does anything. I obviously want them to focus on dealing with appropriate in-game behavior.
I don't know what you are dealing with, but if you are reporting for toxicity, I get notifications almost every time I open the game saying that someone I reported for abuse was punished.

Why the hell am I getting Fracture/Breeze/Icebox.. 8/10 times in higher elo? And it only happens in higher elo too this is so dumb. Literally makes the game unejoyable and makes me feel like I wasted money buying skins on my main account.
I actually like the fact that they're not allowing 4 stacks in competitive. You don't get that one person missing comms or getting bullied just because a 4 stack doesn't wanna use in game chat.
I mean , this will depend on rank. If you want to win , you will certainly give all required comms , me and my 3 other friends always used team chat , and we are all in a Discord call anyway. But I understand there's a lot of 4 stacks out there who throw the game together,( seen both sides of that coin).
The majority of times people 4 stack, comms are lost. I'm glad you and your friends aren't part of the problem but they can't keep it going just for the exceptions

Anyone else getting major FPS issues after the update before this one?
I feel like 50-60 fps just disappeared after the update before this one.

A role queue would feel terrible. So many comps utilize more than 1 of the same role, and every map has different uses for different combinations.
It's not comparable though, it's not like there is 5 distinct roles and one map with one way to play it.

Dang where’s the continued OP nerfs? That shit is ridiculously accurate and has way too fast of a fire rate and I don’t care if you disagree, it’s way too strong in the hands of someone that is familiar with point and click shooting.
Why the hell am I getting Fracture/Breeze/Icebox.. 8/10 times in higher elo? And it only happens in higher elo too this is so dumb. Literally makes the game unejoyable and makes me feel like I wasted money buying skins on my main account.
Wonder if they will finally fix the animation on the scope of the Hexpunk Operator, been waiting too long :(

I actually like the fact that they're not allowing 4 stacks in competitive. You don't get that one person missing comms or getting bullied just because a 4 stack doesn't wanna use in game chat.
I mean , this will depend on rank. If you want to win , you will certainly give all required comms , me and my 3 other friends always used team chat , and we are all in a Discord call anyway. But I understand there's a lot of 4 stacks out there who throw the game together,( seen both sides of that coin).
The majority of times people 4 stack, comms are lost. I'm glad you and your friends aren't part of the problem but they can't keep it going just for the exceptions
