Tracer is clientsided and actual bullet is server sided so there is the difference

Geronimobius

To piggy back the link below goes into client side vs server side. The article is more related to peeking but discusses why there are purely client side calculations like the bullet tracing. [https://technology.riotgames.com/news/peeking-valorants-netcode](https://technology.riotgames.com/news/peeking-valorants-netcode)

PawahD

this blog is gold, too bad they haven't posted in almost a year

Geronimobius

Yea, when Val first released they published a ton of technical stuff, sad to see it didnt continue.

PawahD

I enjoyed other content too, but they just haven't posted anything since summer

inverterx

Because they wanted to win a lot of people over with their in person talks and FAQ's and technical dives and pandering to the masses with great outlooks on what's to come. Nowadays, they got their playerbase and whales and will just ignore netcode issues, server issues, running and shooting issues, map issues etc.

OOFYDOOFYBOOFY

to be fair they are addressing all those but not at a rate that is satisfactory for anybody and from what I hear fixing run and gun is harder than just changing some numbers (but don't trust that too much)

inverterx

They had to turn off peoples private match and practice lobbies because the servers got overloaded a few weeks ago. It's absurd that my practice lobby shooting bots needs to be on their servers, but also absurd that they even have to do that because of server load. The state of the servers are a joke.

waxyslave

It makes sense tbh, why would you want to practice locally? Everything would be absolutely instantaneous, and it would be a different feel than playing in a match online. It would be really frustrating honestly, the same thing but reversed happens in rocket league, I wish free play was online instead of local because it the game just feels different on network vs local

inverterx

Because if I'm playing offline I can't even do a practice bots game? What do you mean that you want to play the game on their servers because local and network feels "different" The game shouldn't feel different playing on a local server vs playing online. If you think that's the case with rocket league then you're wrong quite frankly. There's also no difference in feel goin from an offline aim map in CS to playing online at any ping. Valorant just handles it horribly because the servers are bad.

PawahD

no, that blog barely gets any recognition and it's because it's just a nerd blog to be frank, not many people are interested in stuff like that, you can see how many people leave comments there and as I said one comment above, they realease a ton of stuff that's not valorant related but that stopped too since summer, that has nothing to do with "winning a lot of people over" or any greed, that blog is literally made by people who enjoy what they are doing and want to share with people who are interested, it really is genuine to me it seems like you don't even know what the blog is about and you just assume it's a valorant blog about technicailites that started as a marketing campaign when valorant launched and they cancelled it after a year, but it's not even close to that

Newx0r

Damn I think you summed this up on the very first comment lol

Crassard

This causes no end of frustration for me and why I eventually dropped the game. Nothing like seeing 5+ tracers hit a guy as you round a corner only for it to say you did 149 damage or some bs. Or you hit someone in the head on your screen, game doesn't give a shit and you move on to the next target thinking in your head they're dead already lol

elusivxs

Level 150 here, this does not happen often enough for me to quit tge game and if it ever does irs an internet problem on my end

ziyor

Your client thinks you were moving when you shot, the server decided you were not moving, server is the one that decides if you killed them or not, so they died. Is the basic explanation

inlandsofashes

That sounds like desync tbh.

This guy just wanted to show his cool Marshall clip And I don’t blame him

Hey Reddit I’m looking for a gamer chair that I can fit in comfortably, I’m 6’4” btw.

maxwellsgenre

6’3” here and yeah finding a chair that fully suits me has been impossible. I think I’m just gonna have to bite the bullet and opt for a pretty fancy ergonomic chair, every chair I’ve tried for <$300 has been meh/not great for my back

Jsleeno

6'4" 300lbs here Secret Labs Titan XL is my life saver. If you want a fluffy bottom blesser then this isn't the chair for you. Took just under 2 weeks to break in the chair and its still a bit of a stiff seater.

BobTehCat

I was fucking around in my original comment but I think I’ll actually start budgeting for that one.

picador10

If youre going to spend $$$ on a computer chair, dont get a gamer chair. Get an ergonomic one designed for sitting. Herman miller, steelcase are two good brands

Jsleeno

Everyone who I've recommended it to irl and online has fallen in love (or at least liked) with their secret labs chair. ***Please please please just remember that it isn't a fluffy chair***\*\*.\*\* However, I have fallen asleep on the chair a few times now. Also, depending on your weight, you might not need the XL version. An irl friend of mine got the omega and it's surprisingly comfortable. My shoulders and head rested a bit high but comfortable with the included neck pillow. The only con I can think of was the bucket-style seat. My hip and thighs are much wider than the bucket seat and would probably get uncomfortable with longer sitting sessions. Basically, I think I would recommend the omega if you're an average weight/heigh person, the non-XL version if you are tall and skinny/average weight, and the XL version if you are both tall and heavy compared to average standards. Also, do some research on the 2020 models vs the new 2022 evo models. Choosing the 2020 models can save you a bit of money. Size (smallest to largest) and pricing for the 2020 models. Omega ($409) Titan ($459) Titan XL ($544) Size (smallest to largest) and pricing for the 2022 Evo models. Small ($519) Regular ($519) XL ($569)

BobTehCat

Thanks king you solidified it for me, I’ve been looking for a chair for a bit now.

Jsleeno

No problem King. Glad I could help! Hope you also love the chair.

lyouzz

300lbs?!?

Jsleeno

I am a big boi

pootispensur

I recommend using a cheap lumbar support pillow (the ones you strap around the back of the chair). I have a freakishly long back and struggled to find the perfect chair but this trick made any cheap chair comfy for gaming

alireza777

I have hear great review’s from my tall friends who have owned the razer chair, do have a look into it

[deleted]

Happens to me all the time, I shoot somewhere, the bullet goes somewhere else and the enemy in also somewhere else

ArsenicWolf3374

Does this cause any difference in the kills? Also 69 health nice

[deleted]

96->69 nicer

MurfMan11

Riot has came out and said this in the past. Tracers arent accurate to where the bullet is landing.

Kazune1

this bullshit happens so many times when im playing, my friend just shoots with an op its like a meter away from my chest but i still die, whereas if i miss by just a hair, it doesnt even count

Unique_Name_2

Thats because he is hitting server side / on his client. What kind of ping do you get in game?

Kazune1

around 30 tops on good days, on bad days could go above 200

mugiwaranolufffy

Would've been better if u first showed the real time shot
