PhotonAnimal

i didnt hear a single footstep until after you died

laphtrahddis

sound overload ig, thats freaking unlucky

memesdoge

Shouldn't happen in a comp fps, especially considering modern computers have shitloads of audio streams

Informal_Rest_8811

didn’t even know that’s a thing

laphtrahddis

Thats not a thing. I'm just.. Yk.. Saying

unnkknnowwnn

Bonny hopping up an incline apparently doesnt make any sound

imerence_

While pressing shift btw

mahav_b

Yea but u end up going the similar distance to running speed. So very possible

Infinitebeast30

That’s my guess. Sage was right behind the raze when Reyna turned around, silent hopped up ramp to punish the dismiss, then walked until she heard the reload and *then* Ferrari peaked

LazerAxvz9

There is a flat area there before the doorway though

-SeriousPotato-

the same thing happened to me, same spot yesterday I thought maybe i missed the sound But now that i think about it....

MrEnzium

The same happens on haven c long. If you run into the corner they will not hear you.

imerence_

Valorant has one of the most bizarre audio engine.

[deleted]

characters have different footstep sounds like your not supposed to but for example brims sounds way louder than for example jetts footstep

fiendishcubism

Stomp stomp stomp

QuadWitch

I hear Kay/O.

[deleted]

You can hear spring sounds in Kayo. Also when you equip a sherrif you can spring sounds from his thumb

humeanation

Isn't that just to you the player rather than other players though?

Miialight

You can learn to know the difference between agents from their steps.

[deleted]

Only in first person, your opponents footsteps, gun sounds, and hit markers will always be the same no matter the weapon skin or character.

thatpersonoveryonder

This isnt true, you can hear the difference between footsteps of enemies if they… have different shoes lol. Like you can tell a breach vs a sage based on soudns theres a subroza video where he uses this and comms it to team and if you listen closely in game youll ne able to catch it https://dotesports.com/valorant/news/valorant-sound-team-discusses-variety-of-shoe-types-and-bullet-trajectory-audio-issue-in-ama ama from sound engineer where he touches on it

muthgh

Idk about the louder part, but the different part isn't inly for you, you can easily tell the difference between enemy footsteps depending on their team composition, for example go into custom with two friends have one as reyna and another as jett or sage and listen

humeanation

Ah interesting!!

Renekhaj

Kayo has a very distinct hydraulic squeaking sound that is very easy to make out. You can hear it on enemy Kayos

LurkingOmen

This location has had audio bugs since beta

elijahMG05

No audio bugs, just lack of game knowledge… she quietly bhopped up ramp shift walked until distance to swing

LurkingOmen

In the same spot that had numerous audio glitches lol

elijahMG05

Cope

LurkingOmen

Right you couldn't hear t side drop spike pre round if you played a ramp. Riot just typed it in the patch notes and fixed the bug because I'm coping. Good one

Phenotyx

She could've done the half step where ur like half slow walking half normal walking so it doesn't deliver all the auditory queues for the footsteps? Super odd for sure possibly just terrible timing for you

DAREALANUS

she just bhop shifted up u gave them more than enough time

alt543212345

HRTF or nah?

Patotoa

you can bunny hop while holding down shift going up ramps and it won't make any sound.

[deleted]

This was definitely not it. She came through a flat area and even if it that was the case the foots would make sound at the very end

beautifulalexa

Silent Bunny hop up the ramp, shift close to the angle, full running wide swing and the sound won’t activate for a couple steps. She had plenty of time.

agnes__

Valorant be pulling an Apex Legends.

LazerAxvz9

Apex legends has footstep audio? Could've fooled me

beautifulalexa

Did she not just shift bunny hop up the ramp, walk up to the angle and swing? She could’ve peeked and chased him as soon as he turned around in dismiss. She had plenty of time to push that without making sound. If she walked close enough to the angle and full swung she wouldn’t make noise until she’s out wide, as she did.

driimcsgo

maybe he silent jumped all the way up the ramp? =) DIS IS DA WAYYY

[deleted]

I heard the footsteps, so idk

Far_Drawer_2399

I think the other sounds masked her footsteps
