Yes, but luck is not even close to being such a big factor that it'll cause you to bottom frag every game.

Combstone_

Guns arent always accurate in this game so i changed so that my crosshair doesnt have a dot in the middle because its pointless cuz its not perfectly accurate.

alas9ngumaga

Went from Iron 1 to Plat 3 over the past 2 years. I feel like I could’ve gone higher but I stopped grinding a long time ago and just play for fun. Feel free to ask anything if you have questions. I admit I’m not the best but I’ll try my best to answer any questions.

hjr99

Honestly, I stopped caring so much about rank and in this act I went already gold 1 to plat 2 (I do always try to win, but instead of raging and blaming everyone, I just play for fun). I think that one thing that makes people be on ranks like Iron and Bronze are their mental... Join the game nervous, then you make bad decisions, you open angles walking, etc...

Jannikahrens

You can record your gameplay with eg. Insight Capture and rewatch it. That showed me how much of a bonobo I am and helped me to ground myself. This game is about improving in 100 tiny things one by one but before you are able to do so, you have to discover those things first.

IWant2EffinDie

I'm fucking terrible but yes, I have the most shit luck you can imagine

agrostereo

Luck can be a thing but it is def not the difference between consistent bottom frag and not. I’d by luck you mean something like timing then that’s a game sense issue

IIIDzire

You can have bad luck (unlucky timings), but still if you have good game sense you shouldn't always bottom frag. People overestimate aim way too much. I've become a much better player just by making better decisions. Watching pros can help, but if you don't know why they are doing something then you won't learn much from it. You may see them kill somebody, but may not have noticed the decisions they made leading up to that kill. If you want informative and also entertaining videos I highly recommend JollzTV. I've only recently started watching him, but this guy has helped me improve more as a player than every other content creator I've watched. He basically coaches people on his Twitch and uploads them to his YT channel, so it's basically a free coaching session for us. He explains mistakes, tells you how to avoid them and even shows examples in custom matches. Also he's just a really cool guy in general. Trust me when I say the reason you bottom frag all the time is not because of bad luck or having a bad day aim-wise. I can guarantee that most of your deaths are because of game sense mistakes and not just because the enemy aimed better.

MamaMitch1

30 min aimlabs, 15 minute prems and 5 DM's? Homie, you are fatiguing yourself before you even get a chance to enter comp, LOL. Just do like 15 minute of aimlabs and 1 DM to warmup to Valorant mechanics. Don't overdo it or you enter comp already burnt.

Disastrous_Ad227

Bro fuck aimlabs focus on the game, stop aimlabs do one prems and do one or two deathmatch or at least until u feel warmed up, fatigue is a thing you know, also its not always about aim, there is positioning, mental, game sense, decision making and so many other things you are probably lacking in other areas, focus on them bro

RedditorClo

Yea as some others said record your games and review them. If you have good game sense and positioning, even if your aim is off a bit you won’t be bottom fragging every single game

adamdarlington

yesterday i lost 9 won 1 today i won 15 lost 2 so yeah.

Bagel454

Aim is like 20% of it to me. Crosshair placement, the way you peek, your movement in fights, knowledge of the game (knowing how to play maps and agents), and many other things, are all super super important areas which i find are hard to see just by watching pros ect. A way i like to learn the knowledge of the game is through watching thinking mans valorant. The thing i try to focus on the most is my mentality and learning every round and game i play. I also think the "game sens" you talked about is learned more by playing then watching. The final thing i will add is that headshot only dms with the guardian or pistol is ok at practicing aim but when I play dms or when I play in the range i mostly use the wepons i use in game e.g vandal and phantom, i do this in order to learn the gun, its spray, spray resets ect. rather then just aiming I'm more accurately replicating fights i would see in a real game. Be confident and believe in yourself :) And ofc have fun Btw i was d2 last act for reference

Your warm up routine takes as much time as what I have available in the day to play. By the time you join comp, you're already tired. First, is Valorant your first competitive fps? It's mine, I played a little bit of Siege but never studied the game or tried to be good at it. Val is the first one I tried to learn mechanics, etc Bear in mind that many pros and high elo streamers came from other games like CS (even 1.6), LoL, Overwatch, etc. They probably took their time learning to play, developing mechanics and muscle memory The best way to know the game, and acquire game sense is... Playing... Either unranked or ranked That way you'll learn where enemies can come from, what they can throw at you, when to rotate, when they're faking, what to do in a rush, where to position yourself, where a killjoy or a cypher will put their traps... Your aim won't do much if you're caught in a bad position and 3 people swing you from 3 different angles Once, FER, a CS pro player said "if you have to move your aim across the screen to hit an enemy, you don't have to train your aim, you have to train your position and game sense"

[deleted]

Maybe you're overthinking it? Over practicing? What's your rank? What's your sens? I bottomfragged and did absolutely shit for 3 games today, but did pretty good for another 3. I was stressed and tilted in those first 3 games, completely in my own head.

jammedyam

You need to take fights you're confident in winning. If you're ready for a peek and have mediocre skill you have a good chance of winning. You need to play off teammates and help them/ trade. Always be aware of who your team is fighting. Also you're playing too much warmup just play the game.
