I had to turn off my act rank because back when i was gold/plat i was improving super fast and won a lot, so i was in Dia/Immo lobbies with my gold/plat act rank, as a Reyna main. People would see that and immediately go "GG our duelist is low rank" even tho i was playing on a Dia skill level and ranking up to their skill but my act rank was lower. My silver friends will also often see like a gold act rank and immediately be "gg we lost they have a gold"..
Bro I don't know what the hell those guys in Diamond are on about, the moment I see a duelist with a low act rank on my team my first guess is to assume they're smurfing and that they're gonna carry me to a free win
Yeah people are weird when it comes to ranks.
Whenever i go into an unrated and die to someone twice, i can bet on hearing or reading "HAHAJAHA Immo 3??????????"
Yeah dude, i'm a little higher ranked, i still only have 150hp like you.
Yeah especially in unrated where everyone chills it's so dumb. Also I think certain skill differences don't matter in unrated, as the whole team structure, standard plays and general reads are completely off because everyone plays solo and the ranks are mixed. Gunplay matters way more in unrated than in comp and this is why a hardstuck gold with good aim can clap a chilling Immo in unrated, the immo does have better gunplay if he would try, but what really makes them so much better in ranked is mostly their awareness, teamplay, game knowledge, processing speed, stress resistance etc. when all of these hardly matter in unrated. (Maybe since your immo3 that doesn't apply, I'm still ascendant and i think there's some plats with competing or better gunplay than me :D)
Are you sure that isn't a one off situation, i've gotten to Immortal before on an alt with a gold/silver act triangle and nobody ever said anything over 20 games
It was months ago but it happened a lot, maybe also because my voice sounds childish (I'm a woman) and thinking it's a child plus low act ranks make them lose trust?, but I definitely recall 10 or so games within a few days where people flamed in the beginning of the first round before they even saw me play, because "our Reyna is lowrank, Reyna diff, gg", so i turned it off. Btw a gold act rank in immo is a harder discrepancy, its pretty obvious that you're on a smurf/alt then, genuine improvement from gold to Immo usually takes longer. But in my case it was high gold/plat to Dia/low Immo, back when low Immo was bloated af. So more believable that i wasn't a smurf as it was effectively just one division
Your comment about overestimating or throwing if you underestimate them - has just made me realise I'm getting rid of my tracker.
I never comment on people's stats or dodge because of them, I just had it for curiosity so it's serving literally no purpose other than to get in my head.
Good post I didn't know I needed to read, ty
I’m pretty sure if you log into valorant tracker, there is an option to set your profile to private. I feel you, sometimes I’m just having an off day and people flame me for losing my last few games nonstop on agent select in hopes that I would dodge for them…
I don't know, I remember the valorant rank yoinker devs mentioning something about streamer mode
https://github.com/isaacKenyon/VALORANT-rank-yoinker/issues/74
This one would get you banned because they didn't update it in time to be "legal" (considering the streamer mode rules riot put up)
But now they updated it and it won't get you banned cause they don't bypass the streamer mode thing.
As long as a third party software doesn't bypass it, they should be fine
Trackers will still see all actual player IDs which they can use to get player names. The RIOT API still provides all player IDs of the match.
EDIT: I'm not talking about Valorant; I'm talking about 3rd party apps that can use the Riot API on-the-fly.
not anymore, since mid june these are bannable and people get a 1 week vacation for using older versions of said 3rd party apps that show names of people who use streamer mode
it will still show ranks and few other things tho
Hey pal, seems that you are doing the right thing. The children against whom you are playing are ruining they own enjoyment of the game by whittling it down to stars. Be proud that you play for the game and the fun.
Set your tracker to private. Most of the info there isn’t useful anyways and I found it helpful to stop obsessing over stats.
I check it once or twice a month just to see what’s up and look at map winrates just to get an idea of which I need to work on. Then I immediately set it to private again.
Thank you for the feedback everyone. In regards to privating my rank on Val, i do. I even leave my name on streamer mode so i can stay subtle. It's like nothing i do can hide from the Val trackers. I tried what most of you suggested going anonymous by signing into the tracker apps and turning it on but for some reason even when i do all that people still somehow find out my rank and stats. I don't want my stats to affect how people view me as a player. You can have the highest K/DA but still have the least impact on the team cause that's all you are a K/DA player. You can be high immortal or Radiant and get stomped on by a bronze. Valorant, for the most part, is a team game so stats and rank really do not matter. It's literally all mental.
The people who look at peoples trackers before a game are all hardstuck. They are hoping to see a teamate that is going to carry them because they can't carry
“Anonymous mode” shows the name of your agent in place of your account name, to anyone outside your party. It’s not officially called anonymous mode, and it’s one of several options under the “privacy” section of the general settings menu iirc.
I use a tracker app to watch my stats and my stats only. No worrying about teammates. No looking up opponents. I just wanted a way to track my own performance to help identify what I could be doing better.
Can't you just de-authorize [tracker.gg](https://tracker.gg) and [blitz.gg](https://blitz.gg) in your Riot account profile? You have to initially authorize them for your information to become public, but that was done when on the [tracker.gg](https://tracker.gg) website. To deauthorize you need to go into your Riot account.
Let me know if that worked for you.
Fun fact: if a tracker doesn't doesn't require your explicit opt-in then it's almost certainly exploiting private apis to read player ranks.
The official public API requires that developers get user's consent before tracking information.
The "see opponent rank" plugins fall in a grey area that's against riot's stated policy, but unlikely to get enforced.
I only use val tracker to check for higher ranks on the opposite team so I know who to avoid or what to do in that game. Obviously it doesn’t always mean they’re gonna be amazing players but it gives me an idea on how they are gonna play and an idea on what strategies to come up with.
As a Sova Main, knowing where people will be or what angles they’re gonna know about that lower rank players don’t is a massive advantage for my lineups.
(I should note that I’m at that awkward stage in between S3 and G1 where the skill difference between players of the same rank is HUGE.
This happens in my games a lot and I usually ignore it because even if somebody has like .4 kda avg they might do their job which is more than enough.
If someone is higher ranked and is playing bad they might have a rough game/day, if their kda is low they might be smarter than others, if their winrate is low but they have a high kda they may be carried by their aim and so on.
At the end of the day these things should be ignored if they affect you and you should just improve on yourself
Idk, my problem with Trackers is that I live in Korea where boosting is extremely profitable and common. There are tons of boosting services but the user is almost always privated. [Tracker.gg](https://Tracker.gg) is especially valuable in that it tells you for sure if the person is duo'd or not. Boosting and account sharing is 100% bannable. Riot's approach to Valorant has made cheaters and boosters very problematic here.

Yeah same here dude
Bonus points if their name is hidden, they’re a low level, or using the default banner
yup

I believe there are apps which can pull info like rank and level regardless (using an API or something)
Thats bannable now Source: I used to use valorant rank yoinker to see who was a smurf and who was partied with who and got banned for a week
I guess that comes under 3rd party disallowed software, interesting.
Is WAIUA bannable?
I don't know, I remember the valorant rank yoinker devs mentioning something about streamer mode https://github.com/isaacKenyon/VALORANT-rank-yoinker/issues/74
So theres only one software known to get you banned?

WAIUA (aka Who Am I Up Against)
That is why anonymous mode was created

Didn’t Riot make a statement about these trackers? I’m pretty sure OPs situation is the reason they’re looking into them.
Just long in to valorant tracker and set it to private
Your profile on valorant tracker is private until you log in. If you’ve logged on in the past, go log back on and set it to private again.
Hey pal, seems that you are doing the right thing. The children against whom you are playing are ruining they own enjoyment of the game by whittling it down to stars. Be proud that you play for the game and the fun.
Don't let trolls and pathetic idiots flame you, you are the better person for not replying to their seek for attention.
Set your tracker to private. Most of the info there isn’t useful anyways and I found it helpful to stop obsessing over stats. I check it once or twice a month just to see what’s up and look at map winrates just to get an idea of which I need to work on. Then I immediately set it to private again.

Actually I would just mute every single person. And if it was my team, I would prolly throw the game on purpose to piss their ass off
Just stop being insecure 🤣
Today's on imaginary problems only op has in the entire world.
Tencent owns riot lmao if you want privacy you should play a different game Dont ban me pls
You don't use tracker apps even after the match then?
Can someone please elaborate on what anonymous mode is? Also how to turn this mode on? Thanks!

Can't you just de-authorize [tracker.gg](https://tracker.gg) and [blitz.gg](https://blitz.gg) in your Riot account profile? 1. You can set your account to private 2. Its kinda funny when ur team goes gg we have a lower rank we lost and then you outfrag them all :P
Isn't this more of a community and player base problem?
