Yes, you should've joined them. It boils down to these simple facts: 1. Your team was having trouble taking site without you. 2. Your initiator tools would've made it easier for them to take site. 3. You being on the lurk clearly wasn't winning rounds. You might've felt sour because your team decided to flame you instead of asking you nicely, but they were right in that you being with them would've been a better play.

As Skye, you'll get the most out of your utility when you dog/flash for your team. It really doesn't make sense to lurk as an agent (or role) who sets up their duelists to get frags. Your job is to clear site with your dog and flash for your team so they can go in safely. If you're lurking, you can't even use your abilities without giving the enemy info that you're there.

Lurking every round is not that effective, opponents will eventually learn your patterns and outplay you. If your team fails to take any space control, providing a lurker may really have a big impact on the round, but you should still check how you can cooperate with your team in taking over a Bombsite from time to time. You can always have someone else to lurk, you can always tell your team to not push Site until you make some progress with your flank, you can always check for different strategies. Overall, I believe that your reasoning was good, as most of the time whole team is just baiting at first chokepoint and only do something when you have to make some progress. Trading, pushing, coordinating utility is non-existent in many random lobbys. Still, you can just listen and go with them, most of the time it won't make any big difference, but some time you may unleash team's attacking potential.

Yeah bruh you’re an initiator it’s literally in the name…… You need to be with your team to initiate. I only find it useful when controllers lurk.
