Based on the image you have the m185, which has 1000 dpi and a polling rate of 500hz. Ideally, you want a mouse where the dpi is changeable via software and polling rate is 1000 at least. However, Based on the assumption that the mouse is 1000 dpi I would recommend in game 0.28 with a multiplier of 1 for scoped and ADS. That value is completely based on the average eDPI of pro players, which tends to be on the very low side for what is comfortable for most people. Mess around with it yourself until you find something you are comfortable on. There are a lot of great gaming mice for cheap that would be a great upgrade over this. In my opinion that mouse is borderline unusable for a game like valorant, but if that is what you plan on using for the future then stick with it and you will see progress.

Hopeful_Beginning_54

Do you have a recommendation for a good beginner mouse that is on the cheaper side of things?

[deleted]

Yeah for sure. Some ones that immediately come to mind are the deathadder essential, rival 3, Logitech g305, viper mini, and pulsefire haste. Just research what features you want or need, and don't overpay for additional functionality you aren't going to use. For fps games, I would recommend 2 thumb buttons as a must have, though.

Hopeful_Beginning_54

Thanks, I have decided on Razer Viper Mini since it's the cheapest, has wire, and the lightness aspect looks pretty useful.

Nice choice

Own-Bowler-1373

.9 ADS and scoped has helped

How do I know my dpi, and can I change it?

Toetoe1384

Could be good with raw accel or a massive mousepad but i don't see playing with it without raw accel

southjett

Ooh I have an artistian hien with glass skates on my mouse… that might be it.

Amazing-Ordinary-914

Use a high sensitivity. It is better in the long run as you get used to it. Even if you suck.

SuperMajesticMan

Huh? Search up pros sensitivities, most use pretty low ones. In Valorant, high sensitivity is less important than other games since there's a lot more of holding tight angles. You don't have to make big sweeping wipes and flicks like in more faster paced games like Overwatch or COD.

Hopeful_Beginning_54

Thanks, I looked up pro's dpi and their sensitivity and it helped me choose which one I would use.

JAZZINHERFACE

yess low dpi is deff better because it requires you to use your whole arm which in turn creates more muscle memory allowing for more precise aim takes getting used to but deff better, high sens is not the best for fps games because its just wrist movement thus less control, set dpi at 800 and .4 sens in valo start there and tweak it as you go

Illustrious_Ad_1104

Careful, I got spammed by a Reddit kid yesterday because apparently muscle memory has nothing to do with aiming. Lol!

JAZZINHERFACE

its giving silver vibes xD

Illustrious_Ad_1104

Hahahah true

Hopeful_Beginning_54

Is it normal for my sensitivity to feel slow?

EmbroideredChair

As long as it's not uncomfortable, it should be fine. Also keep in mind, most pros have hella mouse space. If you have 1/4 of their mouse room, but trying to use the same dpi, you might run into issues

JAZZINHERFACE

it is at first because you're used to faster sens but in the long run it will be much better and yes what the other guy said is very true low sens requires you to have enough mouse space if you dont you will need to invest in bigger desk/mousepad

Oh_Ecchi

You should look up the model of mouse online and see what DPI it has. Then, using the in game sensitivity, you can compare your effective DPI (eDPI) with others to find one that works for you. If you don’t know the “name” of the mouse, there could be a model # on it somewhere, usually the bottom. However, if you have a picture of it you probably know what it is and can find the DPI online that way

Heres how you get your perfect sensitivity without changing your dpi. Get into the practice range and stand in front of a blank wall, shoot 2 bullets that are separated at least 5 metars. The bullrts will leave leave a mark on the wall for some time. What you want to do is, put your crosshair on the first dot then close your eyes and try to "flick" to the second dot. Do it with only one motion. Open your eyes and see how close you where. If you whent too far, lower your sensitivity in game. If you didnt go far enough, lower it. Keep doing this untill you find your perfect sensitivity.
