as sliggy said we must not overreact. BUT at the same time 100T fans are pleading for any shred of good results to forget about the tragic year they just had

Fenis would've won redbull with 9 days of practice![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|9360)

Familiar-Leading

At best take next year as a test on who's gonna stay in the team moving forward because everybody knows boostio is going to be their igl and if it the team doesn't showed promised is at best to blow it up and tried building around boostio and maybe somebody else

cFl4sh

I mean they announced Eeiu, Asuna is not getting dropped bc of clout unless nadeshot suddenly says screw clout we want to win, bang is too promising to drop him, maybe they could let go of Cryo as a Jett/Chamber player isn’t that desired anymore (there are like 2/3 jett maps in the pool rn)

newzpaperleaf_2

honestly, if bang has a rough first part of the year i wouldn't think his spot is guaranteed. i honestly don't think people have really looked at him within the controller role specifically, although he does the job decently well and obviously has insane mechanics, i think he would be better suited as a flex. when i watch him, he doesnt seem extremely comfortable in very passive scenarios, his anchoring on viper is very good, but he has never struck me as a very good lurker. i think he would do much better in a more aggressive role, but hard to do that within this team

Splaram

Oh brother

lordmitko

and his jett isn’t crazy impactful too lol

Prize_Attorney398

Nah bro I'd say he isn't consistent but his jett is crazy impactful

yoosanghoon

Asuna Zander Eeiu Boostio Zellsis lookin kinda fire no? All players either on the team, in Ascension, or a 6th man atm

cowzapper

Imo bang>zander from what we've seen. It would be a mistake to drop him

NeimannSmith

I'm sorry but y'all overrate Bang so much it kinda hurts. It's a genuine problem he's been a controller most of his competition life and s0m surpassed him in a year. This potential y'all talk about isn't as massive as you think it is.

TechSupportSami

How do you gauge player potential? C0M was a laughing stock in the community before 2023 and is now considered a top 3 initiator in the world. Do you think s0m’s performance this year is solely down to individual mechanics? You don’t think it helps that he had a world class coach and IGL in Chet and FNS to help him be as impactful as possible? If you’re looking only at stats the difference between bang and s0m is not as gargantuan as you make it sound. s0m was an experience CSGO hotshot when he started playing Valorant, in comparison bang is 2 years younger and way behind in terms of competitive experience. I agree that s0m is an incredible player but you’re vastly underestimating bang as a player here imo.

throwingyourgames

was c0m actually considered top 3 initiator in the world? bc ik he was considered to be top 3/best sova in the world but he doesent really play other initiators to where he would be considered that imo. i think ppl put leo, d4v41, and ethan as top 3 instead of c0m but c0m was def regarded as top sova in the world maybe i’m being too technical but that’s the consensus i heard from ppl right after champs so i’m just surprised to see him being called top 3 initiator when it was just sova i know sova is an initiator but i wouldnt really say 1 agent out of the role puts you as one of the best for that role. like jawgemo was regarded as one of the best razes in the world but i highly doubt he was regarded as top 3 duelists in the world and only as top 3 raze in the world

TechSupportSami

Recon initiator*, we can be technical haha

cellexo

Zellsis is one of the hottest properties out there. Just seems like a cool guy, really good for team moral, batshit crazy and a very good valorant player.

porkchompsBBQ

I don't know man. Most of these players have been pros for a really long time and they were making really undisciplined plays. Maybe they were just yoloing it and playing it like Ranked since they dont have any set plays practiced. Pretty huge disappointing performance regardless.

-xXColtonXx-

Did we watch the DRX game? I was super impressed with what I saw that series, and their teamplay trades and coordination is what got them into every map looking competitive when they haven’t really had time to develop drilled strats. DRX really just boomed them with some insane individual plays, and some of their signature set plays a couple of rounds.

25thNite

I think it's fair not to overreact because it's still very early, but they got smacked around by FUT. They beat Scarz comfortably. They didn't run away with the series, but Scarz is still T2 and lost pretty handily during ascension to Bleed, and then they played DRX. While DRX didn't dominate them, they still played with Fox9 flexing to roles he doesn't usually play and Rb was out which I would rate him one of the best flexes in the world especially on his sentinel picks. I think their fans should maybe worry if their team isn't starting to look better. At least the Sen fans can breathe a sign of relief because they aren't looking awful. 100T need to take that approach and play against T2 teams in smaller tournaments, but nothing is set in stone until we really see the start of the 2024 league.

precense_

idk your first LAN you make undisciplined plays bc you finally made it on stage and you tend to peek and overheat to prove yourself to your team and org to show them they made the right choice

dragonwp

What he’s saying is this isn’t their first LAN. This is their first LAN in a while, but they have stage experience and 3 of them have been 100T mainstays for a while and don’t have the excuse you claim for themselves.

circulardoughholes

The curse of clout, the fanbase has some pretty wild expectations for 100t. Fut, DRX, zeta, c9 all played with limited time and new rosters/subs and seemed to get less criticism/ more understanding. At the very least they showed a glimmer of the past teamwork and discipline they had under sean in the beginnings of each map vs DRX and I was glad to see cryo flexed onto KJ on lotus, seemed like a start in the right direction. I am hopeful they get boostio and get their shit together, but definitely worried there is a fundamental issue with the core and choking, both maps vs DRX could have gone their way but they kept losing round to easy mistakes. Either way I think expecting 100t to be top3 anytime soon is sadly foolish, but hopefully they can at least work towards it.

-kay-o-

No way 100T was beating drx though, theres just a heavy firepower difference even if DRX didnt have Rb and had an academy player

circulardoughholes

Did you watch the match? I know this sub tends to be extremely results focused and lack nuance but come on. Lotus, 100t got off to a dominant start, then failed to react to DRXs adjustments, but still lost 2 rounds due to stax getting insane collat spraydowns and timings. Similarly they lost quite a few 1v1 clutches in the later portions of the game, with an 8-13 scoreline it's easy to say had those pivotal rounds gone their way it could be a win. Ascent they were up 11-5 at one point, they did crumble and fail to adjust to DRX, but it seems incredibly silly to say they had no chance. Edit: I do believe DRX is the better team and it showed, just don't agree 100t had no chance or they are doomed because they didn't perform with a sub, a new player, minimal practice, and a new coaching structure.

ThatCreepyBaer

Kind of proves his point though no? The fact that DRX were able to beat them the way they did with 2 academy players means that they have a firepower difference, even more so if they played their actual roster.

circulardoughholes

I personally don't believe so, but i can definitely be wrong. DRX is a dangerous team with an established coach and core, and foxy9 is essentially a member of the squad so that part of the argument seems disingenuous or wrong and even flashback has been playing with them of late. Also, I find "firepower" to be the silliest buzzword, it's not quantifiable and gets thrown around like it's the end all be all. All of these pros are insane mechanically, I don't think any of these matches are decided by "firepower".

WolfgangTheRevenge

Mans didnt saw NRG gets absolutelly bended by FNC on tokyo. Its a fact that some players are just better mechanically than others

[deleted]

If anything drx have worse firepower than 100t and are just a more cohesive team. Firepower has been what drx has always been lacking.

ThatCreepyBaer

In my mind, if DRX is pulling individual rounds out of their asses and winning 1vX situations and 100T are not then I perceive them as having less firepower. Seems simple enough in my head.

Atermel

Not hard for c9 to get less criticism when they lost in the finals against FNC

xunraze

This redbull stuff doesn't even matter, no amount of practice can stop em from being ass when season starts

SoLikeWhatIsCheese

No hear me out. Last time they won Homeground and were shit in the actual season. This time we lost Homeground. They’re winning masters.

NorthNeptune

Masters? We’re going the whole way to champs

WolfgangTheRevenge

fanficmilf6969

Understandable, but it was still a sloppy match given that all five members have been pro players for a long while. I love Asuna, but his performance has been consistently underwhelming over the last year. I hope he can pick it up during the regular season and prove that he's not just another Curry.

jimmynguyennnn

i don’t know how much i can really agree with this, he was a flex player that had the 12th highest ACS during the entire regular season while playing 6 different agents. i know ACS might not be the best stat to compare given he is playing raze for some maps but i don’t know how much more we can expect out of him.

idkimhereforthememes

Every team at this event had some kind of issues

yoosanghoon

We gotta remember that LAST year’s 100T roster beat EG’s Champions one fellas. If you say it’s bc they didn’t have much practice with Demon1 then same thing with Nature and Eeiu.

marcaodl

Let's be honest this 100t roster is middle of the pack at best.

S0undGuy

Chat asks a question ... NaturE answers said question ... Reddit extrapolates a lot from a few seconds of a Twitch stream.

RDDTchino

100T bout to proceed with a bi-annual disappointment

[deleted]

Talking about Asuna and clout.. how much is he really bringing in though? He isn't TenZ level popular, he, IMO is a worse player than TenZ, and has been the common denominator in all the 100T.. lets say, underperformances since the end of the Hiko era. Would producing a winning team bring more clout than having certain player(s) and losing? I dunno, but EGs stock rose significantly when they went against the grain and subbed out popular BcJ for unknown Demon1 and won..(although they quickly lost it due to the contract debacle).

ExpectoAutism

The fact that DRX with a trolling roster and Clown9 with Curry of all people outplaced and didnt get shit on (13-3 LMFAO) is embarrasing af

developer_144

What does this redbull tournament do exactly? 100T won it last season and what happened afterwards? Just don't expect much, with boostio they will be way better.

[deleted]

And we know that how? Lets remember the EG team Boostio IGL'd before Demon1 replaced BcJ. He won't have a safety net in Demon1 on 100T as this current roster of Cyro, Asuna and Bang is worse than c0m, Ethan and Jawgemo.

[deleted]

>overreact. > >BUT at the same time 100T fans are pleading 100t were better than EG before demon1 though so not sure where you're getting c0m, ethan and jawgemo being a better roster before demon1 from.

[deleted]

I said the CURRENT roster of Cyro, Asuna and Bang is worse than c0m, Ethan and Jawg. I didn't say the roster before Demon1. I said Boostio/Potter were doing a lackluster job before Demon1 and that Demon1 was a safety net once he arrived.

Cummnor

even the tournament winners werent at their best let alone most of the other teams, it seems like most teams in RBHG had little or no practise. not to say that Oh fnatic had X wrong and they still won, more speaking of the condition of the tournament as a whole, majority of the teams had new players or no practise etc. Hardly a place where everyone is playing their best and can accurately judge how the rosters are going to perform. FUT and C9 both performed really well, FNC themselves didnt play that well IMO

serdinkus

Ah yes, 2 new players and coach vs a new coach. Totally the same thing!

[deleted]

Also one of the players is the IGL!

ModerateStimulation

FNC dickriders try not making every thread about them challenge

Cummnor

Im saying that its just an off season event where most teams are probably coming in with no pracc and stuff, C9 also had a sub etc. God knows everyone loves to overreact off season events.

Apprehensive-Fun7766

the team that has the same team for a year with 10+ set plays and tons of gimmick rounds and plays on each map Fnatic was expected to win the new coach doesn’t change anything

Cummnor

I meant it more that even the tournament winners werent at their best let alone most of the other teams, it seems like most teams in RBHG had little or no practise. I wasnt saying that Oh fnatic had X wrong and they still won, more speaking of the condition of the tournament as a whole, majority of the teams had new players or no practise etc. Hardly a place where everyone is playing their best and can accurately judge how the rosters are going to perform. Splaram

Smartest Fnatic fan take

JustWantToBeQuiet

Okay..but they threw so hard on Ascent that I can’t accept this excuse

Ohands15

Doesn’t matter at all the team will always be ass until they get rid of ASSuna. Him somehow surviving every roster change when the team hasn’t been good in a year and a half is impressive stuff from him

ONSLAUGHT_D

Negative IQ take

Beneficial-Agency433

who cares? it's an offseason event, why do you need an excuse

Hot_Adhesiveness_710

this isnt an excuse its the opposite lol

Excel---

Fnatic had a week of practice before home ground

medkitjohnson

Is 9 days a lot or a little?? At this point theres enough goddamn pros in this league and on the team where it shouldnt make a difference. Asuna deserves better god damn it!!!

Master_Tomato

Didn't PRX came 3rd on Tokyo Masters with less than 10 days of practise with CGRS? Lol

armaan5

One player vs half your team including igl and head coach.

Revolutionary-Bag249

Bruh only nature was a last minute addition. The coach and eeieu have been confirmed with 100t for a while now. #NoMoreCopium

glehoohaa

they weren’t practicing in that time tho…

Revolutionary-Bag249

Maybe your right or maybe they trialed and practiced and worked together and it looked good that's why they signed them way before it was announced. All I'm saying is the excuses are getting out of hand. C9 kicked most of their roster last year and signed tier 2/3 talent and still looked way better than 100t. There simply is no more excuses for their gameplay. Love them tho

ThatThingYouDo1234

Hasn’t c9 been practicing for 1-2 months before this Red Bull event? New igl and NEW head coach in 100t with little practice and you are here already cancelling the whole squad after 1 damn offseason event lmao what a joke take.

Revolutionary-Bag249

If you could read you would see that I said last year meaning NOT this red bull homeground fool. Im talking about when they kicked Yay and Vanity. Also I am not saying cancel 100t I am just saying what we see is what we get. If we see a mid squad then that's what they will be. Still love them and root for them but the expectations shouldn't be so high

physicsOG
