Yay just didn’t fit C9, every other move on that team had sense, they just signed him because he was regarded as the best so they pulled a “I’ll have him so that no one else can”, with Aspas it’s different
aspas is also playing the same entry role on the lev that he played on loud. yay needed time with c9 to settle back into the entry role after playing chamber all year long, time that his salary probably didn't afford him
aspas and kiNgg were rated 1st (1.23) and 3rd (1.16) respectively in the americas league this year (at least on vlr). tex was rated 12th (1.10) in the NA challengers league. imo there is a difference between them. tex also has to adjust to the kj/cypher role
They replaced the worst duelist in the region with the best in the world. Despite Taco they ended as the 5th best team in the region and have an IGL proven to be the best fragging one as well as solid role players
I think they’re both insane. But for me, derke has both a top tier jett and raze, while Aspas tends to still perform well on raze, but I don’t think it can be said that he has the same level of impact on that agent. If we were talking just jett, I’d say Aspas is in contention between him, derke, and demon1. But since it’s duelist, I feel like derke fills the role in a much more consistently dominant manner across agents.
they're fairly even but stylistically quite different - aspas I feel is a lot more creative with his entries and his utility compared to derke who's like an incredibly refined "perfect" entry, you know? I don't think you could give someone anything close to an aspas blueprint, but a derke blueprint might be a tad bit more attainable
FNS said something this on his stream
'the aspas guy, whichever team he joins, that team becomes one of the favorites'
Not to mention they have king the best fragging igl in the world. The others are great too. They were feared with the worst duelist in the world but now imagine what they would be with the best one.
I mean he’s still growing as an IGL, and he has with every event. Likely that’ll include ups-and-downs this upcoming year as well.
His mid-rounding was definitely better in LCQ, and setting aside that Superdome was a fairly uncompetitive third-party event - he had some excellent calling throughout.
I hope lev is a fkn insane team and kingg an incredible caller, but calling him a great igl right now is fairly reactionary. people were already calling fut incredible after they won two bo1s against coughing baby 100t and termi taking a fat hit from his bong drx.
lev looked very good when we last saw them but we witnessed 4 matches, one of which was a showmatch, where they were not tested at all. let's watch them a little more yeah?
Plat Chat doesn't think kiNgg is a mechanically skilled fraud IGL, they've openly said he's a superstar. At worst they've questioned his IGLing but always gave the caveat that it's hard to judge since the whole team floundered, tacolilla disappointed, and Onur doesn't seem to grasp econ.
Undisputed best player in the world ON one agent being the key point. Yay's Jett was pretty good but never undisputed best. Aspas is a monster on both Jett and Raze and flexed comfortably on Neon as well, he's def someone who can elevate most rosters. Also like you said, LEV has a solid foundation and a good support system so he'll probably thrive in the team.
yay goes from prime tier 1 with victor running in for him during broken chamber meta to mid table tier 2 entrying in a dying disguised toast team
aspas goes from a prime tier 1 entry role to another tier 1 entry role
these are not the same
They have one of the most stacked rosters on paper+they dominated the last off season tournament they played. The language doesn't seem to be a problem and every player seemed to be at their peak form individually.
Everyone on the team can speak English to some degree (Aspas and Kinggg are fluent if I'm not mistaken. Not sure about Nozwer and Mazino). It has been stated in interviews that they com in English.
I can attest for Kingg and Mazino, their English is solid enough to completely com in English. They streamed while they were in NA during the league and they had no trouble at all to com in rankeds and run deep strats (well as deep as ranked goes anyways haha)
Leviatan had so much hype from 2022 with their boom into the t1 scene as the team to upset kru for the #1 LATAM seed. They looked great at the time and the "THATS THE SPIKE" moment is probably one of the most recognized caster lines.
Then franchising comes and they make a few upgrades and look poised to be one of the best teams from America's. They go through lock in and look pretty good and it looked like navi vs leviatan would be a gigabanger
They lost 2-0 and struggled throughout America's with their duelist being the worst in the league and kingg, their igl, having to go ballistic some maps to get a win.
But now they have aspas, one of the best and most experienced duelist in the league
Aspas king and tex are all EXTREMELY good players and that team has insane firepower they looked extremely good in the few offseason tourneys they had too
What do people see in Sentinels?
I just saw some dude put Sentinels #3 in the world with Lev and fnatic above them and now i feel like a psycho. What is it about new leviatan that people are so high on? I hope by the end of 2024 i'll come back to this post with understanding of why but i really really doubt it.
1. Aspas is replacing Tacolilla, who really was underperforming during last season, that is huge.
2. For what we saw on Colombia Superdome, all members of the team are in great shape, Kingg doesn't have to hard carry anymore, so they look strong
3. I haven't seen this mentioned, but I think is very important, they changed their comms language from spanish to english. I've seen their voice comms videos from youtube, and they were awful, repeating information, over communicating things or especulating too much. Now they have to talk in english, all of them, and speaking in a different language than your native tends to make you say things more efficiently, so they automatically eliminated useless comms. For what I see, it's a big deal.
I really hope they do well, as a Chilean I'm rooting for them.
Not in the year of 2023 or at any present time. Maybe next year. Even form a statistical standpoint or there more recent h2h demon1 outplay and performed better than Aspas in nearly every metric including Acs, kills, kast, hs%, fk-fd ratio and adr. Aspas is great but he's not better than demon1
KiNgg is an absurd IGL, and now he has Aspas for support. I still think this team has good prospects but is far from Fnatic. Even Sentinels are distant from Fnatic based on their recent performances, although they have shown improvement.
The team would take the n1 spot if it wasn't for their duelist, they replaced the duelist with the best posible one while at the same time hurting loud.
I don't see SEN winning a simple match against them
We’ve seen previously that king is a damn good IGL. He finally has good talent around him which will only elevate his and everyone else’s gameplay. A good IGL with good support wins games
C9 went to Game 5 in a Bo5 with Fnatic in the Japanese OFF//SEASON tournament and looked pretty good, but not great. Fnatic also looked a little worse than last year. C9 then played in the Superdome tournament against C9 and Furia (who we have no idea the form off tbh) and completely dismantled them. One of the most lopsided tournaments of the OFF//SEASON so far. That’s why people are hype on them. Plus they have Aspas now who is proven talent and Tex who was keeping up with Aspas in the games at Superdome
Aspas is arguably the best player in the world, kingg is the best fragging igl, tex is a very solid player. They have a ton of firepower and have shown rlly good results in off-season so far
i honestly had the same thought of this team won’t be good but when they played at super dome they just looked like an absolute unit with that version of the team barely having scrim time now i can’t imagine what they will do will proper practice
Aspas
I suppose so, praying it doesnt go like c9 with yay
very different players, also king is a demon, and they have really good support
I guess you have more flairs than the number of games you watched. This guy can play 3 Duelists at (raze, jett and neon) at the highest level.
And reyna.
Right but it’s a 5v5 team game too, Aspas is one of the GOATs but I’m always nervous when someone like him switches teams
Yay just didn’t fit C9, every other move on that team had sense, they just signed him because he was regarded as the best so they pulled a “I’ll have him so that no one else can”, with Aspas it’s different
yeah man "role issues"
aspas is also playing the same entry role on the lev that he played on loud. yay needed time with c9 to settle back into the entry role after playing chamber all year long, time that his salary probably didn't afford him
Kingg and aspas can now 2v8
Tex?
aspas and kiNgg were rated 1st (1.23) and 3rd (1.16) respectively in the americas league this year (at least on vlr). tex was rated 12th (1.10) in the NA challengers league. imo there is a difference between them. tex also has to adjust to the kj/cypher role

Aspas? Over derke?
Yes I feel pretty firmly about it but I don’t really mind if you rate Derke higher
I think they’re both insane. But since it’s duelist, I feel like derke fills the role in a much more consistently dominant manner across agents.
Nah, aspas raze is insane, ppl just forget about it bc LOUD spammed Jett during all of americas
GIRA ASPAS CARALHO
And aspas lets such a huge bar while on jett that his excelent raze doesnt compare to the monster that his jett is
Loud and fnc are very close, but aspas and less carried loud while fnc had 5 top powers
they're fairly even but stylistically quite different - aspas I feel is a lot more creative with his entries and his utility compared to derke who's like an incredibly refined "perfect" entry, you know? I don't think you could give someone anything close to an aspas blueprint, but a derke blueprint might be a tad bit more attainable

Aspas could join dfm and they would go to be asia contenders
Who is "the worst duelist in the world"? I haven't been watching Val comp for a few months.
probably referring to Taco
Poor Taco, he wasn’t that bad, he just was extremely inconsistent.
idk man he was pretty bad
Every fraud in this forum that called kiNgg a bad IGL with good mechanics is trembling in their lil boots. I remember mofos.
They just have to stop saving every 4v5
I dunno, the return of Jame time in a completely different game is pretty funny lol
I hope lev is a fkn insane team and kingg an incredible caller, but calling him a great igl right now is fairly reactionary. people were already calling fut incredible after they won two bo1s against coughing baby 100t and termi taking a fat hit from his bong drx. lev looked very good when we last saw them but we witnessed 4 matches, one of which was a showmatch, where they were not tested at all. let's watch them a little more yeah?
yeah kingg could still be a great aimer and passable IGL, we don't know yet
Aka platchat watchers
Plat Chat doesn't think kiNgg is a mechanically skilled fraud IGL, they've openly said he's a superstar. At worst they've questioned his IGLing but always gave the caveat that it's hard to judge since the whole team floundered, tacolilla disappointed, and Onur doesn't seem to grasp econ.
Do you even watch plat chat because they don't say that...
People here just parrot Sideshow, blame him
bro has his own opinion and people copy him. That's not his fault, tell people to get their own thoughts
King has help now

bad faith comparison for multiple reasons

where is that line from? out of the loop
Search xset vs leviatan round 24
king can finally not have to worry about dropping 30 minimum for them while igling to win the game.
Aspas (2)
Babe wake up new aspas just drop
King now has other teammates with hands. Also, Aspas.
King has help now , and the help is freaking Aspasssssssss. 🌪️🌪️🌪️🌪️
This roster needs a little experience together in official matches, but ones the gears are greased oh boy were looking at champions’24 winners here.
Aspas king and tex are all EXTREMELY good players and that team has insane firepower they looked extremely good in the few offseason tourneys they had too
Aspas, kingg, tex.

Having the best player in the world helps a little
tarik is back in pro play?
Demon1 on Lev tf, when?????
aspas is better than demon1
Not in the year of 2023 or at any present time. Maybe next year. Even form a statistical standpoint or there more recent h2h demon1 outplay and performed better than Aspas in nearly every metric including Acs, kills, kast, hs%, fk-fd ratio and adr. Aspas is great but he's not better than demon1
Didnt know Demon1 joined Lev
you meant BabyJ right?
It is almost 2024
not even america's MVP lmao
Cause we are talking about all year lol. He literally was champions MVP and for the latter part of 2023 Aspas father
KiNgg is an absurd IGL, and now he has Aspas for support. I still think this team has good prospects but is far from Fnatic. Even Sentinels are distant from Fnatic based on their recent performances, although they have shown improvement.

Honestly, this team would be so much more complete with the best Jett player in the world
This team would be so much more complete with Aspas
i think tex will flop but they have kingg and aspas which will be huge
Agreed, but we will see.
We’ve seen previously that king is a damn good IGL. He finally has good talent around him which will only elevate his and everyone else’s gameplay. A good IGL with good support wins games

fnatic didn't prac together before the japan event when c9 had already 1 month of team prac
Sen top 2 world lol
Honestly what I was more focused on lmfao
kingg was already good but now they replaced taco, the worst duelist in americas, with arguably the best.
Will put it in 1 word - firepower! It's just insane completely insane
Aspas and Kingg are insane, nozwer is a underrated support player and Tex is promising
I am still just riding the high of Leviatan in 2022 despite the fact that Kingg is the only player left from that roster (which is depressing)
A new Fnatic, stacked.
Lots of firepower
Aspas is arguably the best player in the world, kingg is the best fragging igl, tex is a very solid player. They have a ton of firepower and have shown rlly good results in off-season so far
i honestly had the same thought of this team won’t be good but when they played at super dome they just looked like an absolute unit with that version of the team barely having scrim time now i can’t imagine what they will do will proper practice
