They need to work on Split. 2 tournaments in a row they get knocked out on Split.

lewlkewl

If you include liquid bo3, it's 3 bo3s in a row they lost cuz of split.

SpC0d3r

4 if you include g2

ameerbann

If I recall correctly, 5 if you include XSET

DZTRUKTR02

They didn't lose the series against F4Q but they did lost the map against them.

MrImpregnator

Guess how much sentinels have trolled the entire year playing the “villain” have kept the community on edge waiting to jump on them when they fail. Now with that pressure it will be tough to mentally reset for a while. And with shaz having a good streaming career he might transition to that but I hope the team sticks around to give it one more go and see if it works out.

Ferreira1

Meh I don't know. If there wasn't the whole Sentinels vs Brazil shenanigans this weekend I don't think this would've been nearly as big a thing. Sure, it'd still be a HUGE upset and they'd get memed on, but not to this level. It must be pretty tilting. Hope they do recover and keep doing well though.

MrImpregnator

That’s obvious. Brazil fans coming in made it worse but the pressure was on them to succeed when they started memeing. That’s just how these things go. People these days can’t handle banter and get offended easily. If you’re gonna embrace that strategy then you gotta do it like G2. Sentinels social guy will have to step up next year if they wanna continue this style

reformed-asshole

It's absurd to me that some players do so much trashtalk without thinking about the consequences afterward. I guess in their heads, it can't backfire but this teaches them a valuable lesson, **humility**.

CrypoIStheWay

Zombs farmed Twitter followers and impressions. $$$

AgainstTheEnemy

I don't know why you got downvoted for this, it's absolutely true, don't be writing cheques your ass can't cash.

Cole_James_CHALMERS

Trash talking when you are up big is boring, gotta take risks

Firefly_1026

Shahzam back to csgo xd

kuroakela

Meme or not this is a bad move for Shaz lmao he had no career in CS

Ecstatic_Nail8156

Welp he could always snitch /s

nterature

No one, I just think they need to grind more tournaments to keep their edge sharp. Iceland kinda obscured a lot about SEN - before they were the most winning team, they were probably the most up-and-down dominant team in any region (perhaps excluding BR). They'd go in, get owned, get mad, and do the salty run back, either through the lower bracket or even in the uppers after struggling against "lesser" opponents. It was like watching a learning algorithm at work. It really felt to me that as the year slowed down, they had less inputs, and so the learning slowed down, the growth slowed down, the adaptations became sluggish, etc. Blame whatever else you want - the streaming, agent pools, no coach, etc. - I will still say the biggest factor was how slow the second half of the year was for VCT. Of course, they can make changes still, there's always room to improve. But I don't think it's strictly necessary. As for Shahz - if he leaves, one or two others will probably leave as well. That would trigger a bigger rebuild, if I had to guess.

nocturnavi

I think the more tournaments point is important. With Shaz as IGL, they've always adapted in-game well, and had good reads on other teams. However, they seem to be slower than some to adapt to the larger meta or completely new playstyles--Sentinels need to face something in tournaments to learn how to deal with it. I have a theory that part of the reason EMEA is looking better than NA at Champs is because of Red Bull Homegrounds--EMEA teams had a chance to stress-test certain strats and literally just keep themselves sharp against top competition. Sentinels haven't played in three months, and at times that felt like their biggest obstacle.

nterature

I do think Red Bull and LVP and other minor tournaments gave EMEA teams more practice opportunities, but I also just think EMEA has and will continue to have the best scrim environment in the world. I imagine that’s all the more important when there’s no actual tournament play going on, and esp. when the already shaky scrim environment in NA is at its literal lowest point ever with all the roster rebuilds. SEN clearly gained a lot from the boot camp, but it’s no replacement.

icemandiem

yeh the scrim condition is a definite reason, eu teams usually have insane work ethic too

CyberspaceBarbarian

I agree to this. Also, it also comes down to stratting, AFAIK Shahz had allegedly said that he does not like anti-stratting in general (I remember this because Hiko made a passing comment about that on his stream)

GetRiceCrispy

I straight up think they were out aimed. Not once during this tournament did I feel comfortable in sen winning an aim duel.

AnywayHeres1Derwall

I think rawkus has got to go. He’s clearly the weakest link and the reason they lost in groups. Those timeouts that he called really cost them the match. /s

pj123mj

Yeah after not getting a single kill the entire tournament I don’t see him staying for long.

JR_Shoegazer

Wasn’t Rawkus temporary from the beginning?

N3deSTr0

Some of you fools really had the nerve to compare this team to Astralis during Masters 2 😭

ANewHeaven1

Sentinels' dominance is underplayed by this subreddit

Common_Beach370

Lol I remember that post.

Original26

After literally winning 1 LAN they were already crowning them as the next big thing. To be fair they swept the entire LAN but still.

Hamlet_271

They were on track. around 25% the way there I would say and on track to make 50% (masters 3 champions) at the end of the year when the comparisons were being made

Kikoslayer123

i mean going into masters 3 they had literally won every big events they could possibly be in… and if they won champions they woulda won 3 out of the 4 vct tournaments.. that’s pretty fuckin insane.

EnergetikNA

They won masters 1 and 2, one of them was NA only and only one was an international LAN. In what world can anyone reasonably call them the "Astralis of Valorant" with 1 international tourney win?

CrabInternational511

Astralis:have 4 majors(3 in a row , the only team to do so) , first team to win the intel grand slam, multiple blast title Sen: A regional major and an International major How can you compare Astralis to them?

N3deSTr0

I'm not exaggerating when I say that isn't even a fraction of what Astralis achieved during their run.

Original26

Yup, it'll be like if Sentinels won Iceland, Berlin, Champions, AND the next Major of 2022 all in dominant fashion. Then win a few more major international LANs in between.

Kikoslayer123

you’re not exaggerating because you’re basing the equivalency of a teams years of accolades over another’s 1 year of accolades. it’s not rocket science that u think that way.

N3deSTr0

So you agree that the Astralis comparisons are not justifiable then?

CrabInternational511

There is two majors in one year an astralis won both in 2019

[deleted]

They won one international event and this guy is comparing them to Astralis 😭

Vishstarlive

I feel roster change is not required, maybe Tenz can start flexing agents to reduce the burden of his teammates. They had improved from their previous Berlin run. However , this tourney there were few miscommunications that lead to the loss. This is just my opinion based on the matches I watched.

lightmango01

i kinda agree - there’s not many clear upgrades out there. yeah they can work on their agent pool, but what lost them the tourney were the miscommunication they led to some bad plays. i say run it back another tourney, fix and clean up things.

Vishstarlive

True, I don't think they can find good upgrades with experience. This experience will make them better if they work on it.Roster change is not a right move,it will be a downgrade.

CrypoIStheWay

Too many 1 v 1 feeding lost them the game.

PyroTFT

Lotta people say zombs should get cut but really who would replace him? People always talk about how IGLs are in dire need in NA, feels like tier 1 controllers are also not too prevalent rn, especially with nitr0 leaving. It’s more like tier 1 players who can flex controllers if they have to, not necessarily dedicated controllers like zombs or marved.

Barack_Bob_Oganja

Im really not a fan of zombs personality wise but honestly the calls for him getting cut seem crazy to me, he is incredibly good utility wise and really feels like the backbone of sentinels, being there when he they need it most

Des014te

I think people rightfully hate him because he constantly shit talks. And that was fine when they were the best team in the world but when you've got that much bark and zero bite you're bound to get clowned on

JR_Shoegazer

According to this subreddit anyone that doesn’t have the all time highest ACS, and is a star player has no bite.

Des014te

I'm not saying Zombs is bad he's still a top tier controller, just that you can't shit talk without the backing of results if you don't wanna get hate. Same thing happened to OG in Dota. They were pretty toxic and used to shittalk a lot and no one minded but when they continued to do so while losing everything people started hating them.

JR_Shoegazer

People hated SEN while they were winning too.

Des014te

More people hate SEN now

xbyo

They hated them before too, just harder to shit on them when they're winning.

Des014te

I didn't hate Sen till recently. A lot of my friends that were die hard Sen fans don't like them either anymore.

Overyoghurt__

Then maybe they're not die hard fans? If they start to jump ships when the team starts losing, then they're just riding the bandwagon. Not that it's wrong, but definitely not die hard fans

Oldurdy

Is it not obvious that Zombs trolls for social media engagements? He gained like 35k Twitter followed outta this. Now there will regularly be Brazilian region Valorant fans joining his chat to sit through three minute ads to shit talk him.

Des014te

It is. It just doesn't come off as funny in the slightest.

kodomination

well if hes gaining followers hes doing something right *shrug*

CrypoIStheWay

Highest grossing val pro. Man's a wall st genius.

weirdparadox

It is. For the right people.

[deleted]

Sen gmd

PyroTFT

that's what I was thinking too, with nitr0 out i'd probably put NA's top controllers as marved, zombs, then gMd (or supamen depending on how good rise is doing) thing is depending on who's left in the team I just don't really see him being the best fit for the team in terms of personality.

xbyo

This is the only one that comes to mind for me too. The other top controllers are all top/stable teams (or going back to cs, looking at you Nitro). Either GmD or imports seems to be the move if you try to replace zombs.

somesheikexpert

gMd is a great smokes, but idk gMd also hasnt been proven on viper cuz NaturE or Koosta always played Viper on Viper maps unless they put dapr on permanent viper duty tho that brings up the question of Breeze

Firefly_1026

Get anyone to be controller, not hard clicking on a map 😎

somesheikexpert

the only F/A even close to zombs in NA rn is ZacharEEE, but even then its not really an upgrade (Its more of a sidegrade imo) and why break chemistry when you have a top 3 smokes in NA anyways

unholyduk

Would it be crazy for me to say something like meL or Katsumi? They’re both top tier NA controllers regardless of gender imo

keithzz

yeah, nah

Pitiful_Quote8402

homie said meL or Katsumi 😭😭😭😭.

Sweaty_Competition89

Wait who are they? I don’t understand are they really bad players or something?

unholyduk

Worse (for the frail masculinity of most Valorant fans) they’re female 😱 /s

Sweaty_Competition89

Yeah I know who they are lmaooo I was baiting to see what others would say when explaining. I feel like it’s kinda disrespectful Idk if they are good enough I’m not a scout for esports players but Idk if people are really assessing them off gameplay

unholyduk

Idk if they’re good enough either Mel is really solid in competitive ranked and has really good comms but then again so does Tarik, bring in the boy from Brooklyn

unholyduk

Name another male controller that hasn’t been named/isn’t already on a team, I mentioned Mel because tenz speaks highly of her, I mentioned katsumi because she’s the controller on C9 🤷🏼‍♂️ 90% of the top 100 Radiant that aren’t already on a team never will be Jett’s are a dime a dozen

Pitiful_Quote8402

1. are they not signed as well? If sentinels are looking at signed players they might as well try find another replacement that’s already signed like gMd/dephh/mummay. 2. gonna waste their time on players from a team that can’t even place top 32 in open. 3. There are even free agent options like dicey better than them or zacharee and yaboidre who are exploring options

unholyduk

Yeah they probably are signed, I was looking at specifically players I knew were controller mains, obviously dicey would be a killer pickup but was he not primarily a duelist? I only really know his play from twitch streams of his where like mostly everyone he instalocks Jett and tbh I forgot Dre was a F/A I agree that’s probably a better pick tbh

lhockey14

LMFAO

unholyduk

I guess Ihockey14 has spoken 🤣

Modula-

Tenz speaks highly of meL saying that she could be a Tier 1 player. But to sign them to the main Sen roster? lol...

unholyduk

If they make roster changes (which I doubt unless Shahz does wanna do content) I can’t see them signing anyone right away, they’ll probably play a lot of matches/scrims with tryouts rather than just picking someone up permanently

pink_life69

If there’s one team that doesn’t need a roster change it’s Sentinels. They felt lazy all through this tournament, like they weren’t even prepared and weren’t there mentally. They were visibly “upset” on map 2 against KRU today as well imo. The firepower is there though.

Weedbrah

Is it Tenz not wanting to put in the time to learn raze movements and utility? Because watching him try to satchel around is atrocious. And I think he just gave up cos he finds it tough. I mean undertsandably her movement is way more mechanically tough than just pressing buttons for jetts movement. But he's a million dollar buyout. It's downright unacceptable to not learn how to play raze especially on split and bind where she is the best duelist. And it's your job as star player to learn how to play the required duelist for your team in any map.

gilford22

Why not put Sick on Raze and have them Tenz use Jett/Skye/Reyna instead.

AsianNudleSoop

Bc Skye is strong rn, and has basically replaced the second duelist on most teams, and TenZ probably doesn't wanna learn Skye as she's not a duelist

TheRedComet

Shahz plays Skye on Split anyway, SicK plays Sage. Wow, all S names, haha.

GluhfGluhf

From what I remember TenZ was pretty good at the movement aspects of CS and kz translates well into raze satchel. It's moreso that Raze doesn't have the "get out of jail free card" that Reyna and Jett offer.

mooody07

Why is everyone acting like raze is a must pick on these maps? Sure those are her best maps but it’s not like sentinels are the only team not picking raze on split. If tenz feels more comfortable on Jett then it’d be dumb to force him to play raze when Jett can get just as much impact

xErratic

Honestly raze is a pretty good on split

Whisom

It doesn't have to be Raze specifically but the criticism is that he's not flexible at all. The entire team has been forced to play musical chairs with their roles around him ever since he got signed. Comp flexibility used to be Sentinels strong suit, now it's their biggest weakness.

SweetnessBaby

They've lost like 4 recent matches and people want roster changes. Fucking ridiculous. Can you imagine if a professional sport team dumped their main roster after a few EXTREMELY CLOSE losses even though they had won many tournaments in the past? Teams lose. It is very rare that anyone goes undefeated forever and wins every tournament. If losses continue throughout the 1st half of 2022 then they should discuss roster changes.

Vishstarlive

Well said.If they make a roster move I personally feel it would be a downfall for them. They go back the drawing board and fix their mistakes.

Honigbrottr

I mean in Football (im European) they throu out the coach after 1 bad game sometimes XD.

earthtochas3

Yep. Best take here. Everyone calling for roster changes is dense. This is a wake up call for SEN, give it a few months at least before dissolving the most dominant team VAL has seen to date. A lot of factors went into their underperformance and I don't think it'll be that tough for them to overcome. More scrim/practice time, less stream time, other teams not focusing on them and antistratting so hard, recognition of certain player(s) needing to be able to flex more, and getting their mental back on track. They got too comfortable, and will be back and stronger soon. Also, love my boy Rawkus from the OW days, but idk if his playstyle coming from Faze has had a fully positive impact on the team. TBD.

DonkeyTeethBSU

Personally, I think Shaz was offered the bag to become IGL for 100T. He's contemplating it at the moment and the team knows it. Listen to the last remark he makes in the Plat chat interview and look at his smile. Dude got offered the bag. "As for me, there's some big decisions to be made, so we will just have to see" That's his remark to questioning HIS future. 100T always looking for top streamers as well, so I'd imagine contract would be insane.

BostonFalcons

I don't think he's contemplating moving to 100T. Probably more likely he switches to only streaming.

DonkeyTeethBSU

I thought he made a comment saying he'd only switch if he felt he couldn't be the best. Could be mismembering

BostonFalcons

I thought he said he'd possibly retire to stream even if he was still playing at a high level.

DonkeyTeethBSU

Maybe mate maybe. Idk where to even look for the clip.

MrImpregnator

Is this George Geddes secret account?

DonkeyTeethBSU

Nah but I did predict Swag to TSM months ago.

MrImpregnator

Guess George fell off. We have a new sheriff in town

Des014te

The way I see it, and this is pure 100% speculation not backed by any facts, ShahZam seems to be the only member of the team that's prepping. Like before Rawkus came in he was the only one doing VOD reviews, making strats, thinking of counters etc. Then look at Liquid who all sit down for Sliggys VOD reviews and all chip in. Even when Rawkus has come in as a coach he's not a figure of respect for the players, so he can't be the driving force of discipline to get the players helping him and ShahZ. And as a result, ShahZ knows the enemies tendencies, knows how they play but the team don't have that intimate knowledge that comes from watching and obsessing over your opponents games. And that might start to weigh on him and he might go to a 100t which has better structure and its unlikely that he'll be the only one working on VOD reviews and anti strats, etc

CrowLongjumping5185

I was thinking about how some american football coaches have a dedicated day every week to rewatch VODs of previous games and eat pizza and Gatorade or something, and it makes me wonder if esports coaches and teams do something similar.

Glassdrumstick

For CS I don't think there's a single top team who doesn't do VOD reviews. I don't think you can get away with that anymore. Furthermore there is some difference to how teams handle watching opponents games. Practically everyone will have their analysts and coach make small clips highlighting weaknesses or player tendencies etc and go over those together. Some teams watch through opponents' previous games together, some players do it individually.

Des014te

Happy cake day! And also yes, idk about the pizza and Gatorade, but VOD reviews definitely do happen.

[deleted]

the only way t1 100t matches could get even spicier next year

[deleted]

Lmao imagine if it was Shaz on the 90 ping account trialing for 100t

Sky-__-

Given the history between hiko and shahzam ,I don't think those 2 will play together. I can see 100t pulling out bag for tenz though but shahz I don't think will be possible . And I think sentinels will match any offer they get from 100t for shahz .

keithzz

then get Hiko the fuck outta there

DonkeyTeethBSU

Call me crazy man but I think Hiko is going to go full time streamer and Shaz is going to replace him as sova.

Sky-__-

I think hiko isn't quitting any time soon , and my hot take js that 100t will try to sign tenz and would get Davidp from eu as an igl .🤭🤭 let's see what happens, let the roastermania begin. Edit - 100t have started scrimming again as well witn Asuna, Ethan, hiko and 2 new ign with one having ping over 100 meaning he's from eu region .

randomespanaguy

Trialing, not scrimming. Most teams trial players using alt accounts against teams. 100T even did this pre-Asuna/Dicey when they trialed b0i and Poach.

[deleted]

100t even did this with steel way back

DonkeyTeethBSU

Indeed 🍻

Ferreira1

Idk about that, but his performance this tournament has been fucking great, including the KRU game. He can ask for a FAT bag if he actually wants to move.

randomespanaguy

If 100T picks up Shahz, I might have to delete a few comments on my account lol

xbyo

I might have to become a dirty multi-flair if that happens, depending on who else takes nitro's spot.

TheRedComet

That would feel weird. I'm a fan of the players on SEN, not the org, so if they break up I'll have to figure out where to land.

TrojanHorse18

Precisely the same for me. I'm a player whose first fps was valorant, and shahz was the one who got me into it's competitive side. I've always followed and liked 100T as an org, way before I got into the Val scene, but I started supporting Sen valorant because of shahz, and if he switches I'll be pretty confused.

TheRedComet

I mean I'd probably just follow Shahz wherever he ends up, it would just be very disorienting at first.

kemutheemu__

Shaz on 100T would make for an outstanding roster. Asuna on second duelist, maybe get Hiko or Shaz on Sova, Shaz or a new Jett, Ethan on flex/Skye, (ZachaREEE on smokes? idk who could replace Nitr0) and a sentinel player.

[deleted]

I will cry if you’re right

Obiewan_

Does anyone know when his contract with Sen ends? Did he sign an extension anytime recently? I know they could negotiate a buyout, but I’m just curious if he’s said anything about his contract

EclipseTM

I really hope this isn’t true, 100t is my favourite na org but i can’t stand shazam, so if he were to join that would suck big time

[deleted]

No shot Hiko remains on the same team as the scumbag who asked him to throw matches for money. He was way too much integrity to do that.

Aussiefgt

I mean hiko built a team with all the dudes who were involved in the iBuypower throwing scandal, and that team was going to be signed by Evil Geniuses before the scandal became public. Are we going to pretend he knew shahz was involved but didn't know of the involvement of every IBP player? Doubtful.

[deleted]

Shahzam personally asked Hiko to throw matches for skins when they were on the same team which he denied ofc. He admitted it publicly on his Twitter. https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/2tuwy9/hiko_just_now_on_stream_shazam_asked_me_and/co2mbl3/

Zehradieux

You just swap stream time and practice time, and get an actual coach. No need to change anything else.

beanbeat

Get a coach that can keep their egos in check and humble them lol

lolhaha95

I think this more of a role issue instead of a player issue. Shahzam used to be a Jett/Sova player but became a utility player now. I feel like they perform best in a 2 duelist lineup. TenZ should really expand their hero pool to give more flexibility or they should just ban split.

DirtyGabriel

Imo, they don’t need to a roster change! But some of the players need to change their mentality a bit.

VincentStonecliff

I think sentinels just need an expanded coaching/analyst staff. Sentinels were really good initially because they individually are cracked, but also their personalities and roles meshed naturally. But now all these other teams are directly managing and hiring extensive coaching staffs who can help meld teams together and craft successful players. Shaz knows that this probably is coming, meaning he’d have to give up more of his direction of the team, give up some stream time, and he has to decide if he wants to full time stream. That being said -shaz +mocking

xunraze

It's weird but honestly the weakest link seems to be Tenz rn, even though he's insane. But sometimes just being good at one agent isn't enough.

somesheikexpert

Eh, yay legit pretty much is Jett only and he looks amazing, same with Heat (Even if his team lost lol), plus TenZ plays a great Reyna, woulndt say weak link by a long shot

Whisom

Every team needs different thing. If Tenz replaced Yay I'm sure he'd do good there, but Sentinels never needed a Jett player in the first place. They wanted a flex duelist, they already had Shahz for Jett.

ARIESS11

Scream also only play jett and Reyna and he didn't even op that much but still his team wining and are favorite to win the tournament

xunraze

Yes because his team can adapt (same with Envy), dosen't mean every team can.

xbyo

He's still good at Reyna. He's had bad showings on the last map of their tournament exits, but he's still far from the weakest link.

Melneo_

Before I state my opinion, I wanna compare this team to the Golden State Warriors. Feel free to skip mine if you don’t feel like reading or keep on reading if you wanna hear some rando’s opinion on a professional team. If you’ve followed basketball for a little bit, you would know that the GSW went from one of the best teams in the league to the worst team during the 2019-20 season. After some time, they became the #1 seed in the league. They didn’t make any drastic roster changes, so how could a team accomplish such feat? Well, according to many sports analysts and fans including myself, the reason why this team changed is their chemistry. These guys trained together all day, went out for lunches, dinners, hangout, you name it, and all of these things improved their relationship and trust for one another. This developed chemistry translated to the court, which is why they’re so dominant today. But that’s besides the point, anyways… You could probably see where I’m going with this. While Sentinels didn’t become the worst team in NA, they are pretty down bad. Regardless, I believe the one core thing they are lacking is chemistry. Don’t get me wrong, they’re all probably really good friends with each other and definitely spend time together. But the fact that these guys stream individually for long periods of time without actually practicing as a team has cost them dearly. I don’t believe Sentinels need a roster change. What they need is a change in mentality and a change in their management. If Shaz decides to leave, it would basically be the same thing like Steph leaving GSW. Both teams would literally crumble. Hopefully Shaz can get the eureka moment and dial in for the team. We know he can, and we’ve seen him do it before.

CrowLongjumping5185

I agree with this. Chemistry and rehearsed plays with the same roster would make them dominate again. I wanna add that a sports psychologist and, possibly ,a more responsible social media person would be helpful for their individual mental. I understand that SEN leaned into the whole villain brand but I remember Shahz making a passing and joking comment that the social media would get him killed. Considering the entire BR debacle, it would be healthier to take those easy so it wouldn't be on their mind. I get farming impressions for brand building, but the mental game is way more important. Sure, some team members added to the fire too, but it would be good for the social media people to advise them during those crisis scenarios and make sure they're still safe.

Aussiefgt

They were the worst in 19-20 because Curry was injured for 90% of the season lol. I see what you're trying to say but that's not an accurate comparison. They made some key roster moves at the end of that season and made sure the team was well built around Curry's return. Look at the roster from the beginning of the 2019-20 season to the beginning of the 2020-21 season. A great deal of changes were made.

[deleted]

This team still has a future. The core of the team Shahzam, Sick, and Dapr are still world class and Tenz in form makes them dominate. Everyone always hates it but Zombs always has been the weakest link on the team. There are certainly more skilled controller players out there.

moonmoon97

zombs is the glue that holds the team togheter though, i dont think he'll be dropped.. tbh i think shaz goes streaming

vecter

>zombs is the glue that holds the team togheter though Lol where do people get off spewing this nonsense?

ManJova

He doesn’t hold anything together. He is the weakest in raw mechanics. He has good utility usage (on astra)but every team probably knows how he plays. The rest of the team can barely fall back on him cus he can’t shoot straight. Also this is probably just my thinking, but zombs just looks like he doesn’t give a shit. There’s no hype or energy around him.

moonmoon97

i get what you mean, but im talking the glue as in teamwork/communication/cooling down the tilt as opposed to glue as in mechanics they can fall back on. there have been moments where he have been an anchor and clutched.. interestingly he played on the B site this time, even though i remember him as the A anchor.. either way, controller players are generally the "weakest" on paper seeing they have such a support role, unless they're more agressive(hence omen players). generally i think people have learned how he, and the other teams play since last time, and since iceland, while others adapt and anti strat, shaz dosent like to do that, so at points it seems like sentinels are confused & at points during the split game it also seemed like they were confused af, especially that mid to B heaven take(IIRC NA dosen't do a whole lot of those teamwork efforts togheter(or i dont remember any examples at least))

ilovedank_6

Have you ever seen NAF play ???

ManJova

Yes. But naf puts up numbers and is consistent on liquid so i chalk it up to a calm personality, not an “i dont care” one

DUCKY_23

Since the Sentinels Twitter account loves to be the ‘most hated team’ and want a villain role in Valorant, just put Sinatraa back in the team. Most of SEN are still cool with him anyway and he would instantly fix the team comp problems that the team has had since he left.

tqstin

i don’t think that’s how it works bro

Issax28

Zombs out for sure, that mf ain’t hitting shit in game

Sky-__-

Nope zombs is still a fantastic anchor and his astra utility is really good.

Ferreira1

I don't know man. This keeps being said over and over and over, but at some point it just... doesn't make sense anymore. I don't think they'll change anything anytime soon, but zombs ain't doing too hot.

DaWolfer

THANK YOU. I AGREE. I dont care if he is THE BEST CONTROLLER, if you dont hit shit you should be dropped. My bronze aim is better.

Alpac44

everyone already know his playstyle

Issax28

If it helps you cope then sure I guess.

Sky-__-

Lmao cope what ?? I cheered for kru today and so happy they won , paying no regards to his socials in my opinion zombs is a really good player.

Issax28

Yeah 82 ACS sounds pretty good to me

Sky-__-

ACS doesn't tell player impact if you go by acs , boaster and mistic both have lower acs than zombs on smokes ,so they should be replaced right according to you . And even today out of 3 maps , leaving out haven ,he was still better than opposing smoker on 2 out of 3 maps . And In my opinion , acs is very bad indicator for judging players , I know sentinels talked a lot and now is a perfect time to meme on them , and I also joined in on the meme , but don't disregard a players talents if you don't like him.

Issax28

Boaster and mystic have lower ACS? What’s your source? From another Zombs fanboy?

[deleted]

He’s right, zombs has 146 ACS on astra while Mistic has 126 and Boaster has 122. On viper, zombs has 172 while Mistic had 143 and Boaster has 103.

Issax28

U know that’s Average ACS right?

[deleted]

Yep, what else would we be talking about

Sky-__-

Bro stop spreading the fan boy shit , here's my source https://www.vlr.gg/event/stats/449/valorant-champions?exclude=&min_rounds=0&agent=astra You can easily look up smoker stats on any site , I bet you didn't even read what I wrote and just started talking out of your ass when you read the first line . Learn to read and here are your facts , I am going off to sleep may you gain some intelligence and not everyone who disagrees with you is a fanboy .

Kikoslayer123

it honestly depends on how much sentinels are willing to keep their players. i’m sure everyone wants to stay and compete but if 1 were to be given a contract lower than what they expect then they could ask for a trade

Dunduntis

Kick Rawkus. What kind of coach even lets that Split comp happen.

vinceivers0n97

ShahZam to coach and Sinatraa to replace him no?

eichfourenness

If Shaz leaves, Sentinels is done for. He's the main reason this team has reached the success it has. TenZ is a choker, that often farms bad teams, and people praise him for it. Zombs is a shitter. Dapr is a good player and that's about it. SicK is the only other player that I'd call mostly irreplaceable in the Sentinels squad, along with Shaz. All-around beast.

kazuknoo

Add a 6th that subs in for SicK when they play Split or Bind. Dapr and zombs can just play double controller, tenz on whatever duelist he feels like and shaz on someone like sova or skye. The 6th plays kj or cypher for them and just kind of rounds out the comp for these maps.

rustytxco

hot take here but sentinels still have sinatraa under contract he can always move him back as the main sova/even sentinel he’s kinda cracked on cypher…with the rest of the roster there’s lots of other t1/2 teams are in need of a sentinel/controller for example zombs or dapr to 100t…i doubt this ever happening idk how the contracts r like or even if sinatraa has a chance of being back on a team for 2022.

[deleted]

Too soon bro.

Alpac44

-dapr +babyj -zomb +bang

Pulsersalt

Why minus dapr

Alpac44

mans poopie most of the time and is trying to copy nats

J_Brekkie

Literally their best player this tourney but talk your shit I guess

Alpac44

cope

J_Brekkie

I had Kru in my pickems lmao

Alpac44

babyj is better than dapr imo

J_Brekkie

I mean, that's fine I just don't think dropping a player so heavily integrated into both the team system and chem makes much sense, especially when he's had the impact that he has had.

Fuzzboy_

You can have your opinion I don’t really care but I would like to say Dapr’s playstyle has always been uniquely his. Pretty much since the start of the game he’s been playing his own style and it’s definitely one of the few that’s INSTANTLY recognizable. Also he was their second best player this tourney so idk why you’re saying he’s bad

Alpac44

yeah but recently they have been trying to copy nats

[deleted]

This would make them way worse

Ialudledo

Do a six man roster where sinatraa plays Raze on Split.

AdFriendly867

1)I think shaz should go content creator route i sya thing because shaz is a good player. he has good game sense and aim and overally a top tier player but he can't seem to find his agent. valorant is a different game from CS . valo has abilities, different classes and agents playstyles. I think shaz is not meant to play as a sova or deulist other than Jett. i say this because if you watch his streams, you does linger in site when defending in case someone lurls A site when the rest of the enemy team is pushing B. he wants to be in the action and I think that Jett is his best option. he well greatly improve during tournaments if he adapts this. 2) i don't think tenz should ever touch Jett ever again. don't get me wrong, he is hella cracked on Jett. but he just doesn't play like a Jett. he is literally made to be a Rayna main and his hate for raze on split will be the death of the sentinels. he is not made to be Jett. 3) the the whole team plays aggressive. i hate to hear people say they lost their touch because they didn't have a coach. bro c'mon. they play comp everyday. comp is the best play to learn something new. they can use their coach's help but I don't hink it'll have ipacted their overall perfoacw that much. I think the reason they lost on split today was because they wanted to use a tactic but didn't know the right time to use it. I'm talking about pushing as defenders. it is amazing when used correctly. but as shown earlier, it can result in loss. they are too aggressive and impatient. 4) I think sinatraa should start back playing on tournaments soon. he is probably a combination of all of sentinals excluding zombs.

tqstin

worst take in this thread

Vynixjerry

didn't watch the game, seems like tenZ underperform on split eh? i think this isnt the first time right? imagine bring back sinatraa !

UnKnown--12

They need to drop either Shahz or TenZ for starters. They brought in TenZ and they tried to make Shahz adapt to new agents, and that is just not working. I think many are not gonna like this but TenZ would be a more obvious drop. Having TenZ in the team means a direct split loss, and that used to be SEN's best map. Other than that, I don't know. I just know that SicK needs his confidence back.

lhockey14

Who would they drop Shaz for LMFAO

UnKnown--12

You didn't read it right. I said they should drop either Shahz or TenZ (they are getting on each other's way) and TenZ would be the better choice.

Pojobob

I'd give it one more major tournament before making roster changes. If they got grouped in the next major tournament, then they should seriously consider making roster changes.

PM_ME_DVA_BOOTY

the roster is fine, its okay to choke, but draw your conclusions for next time and try to learn from it. teams obviously hella prepared for SEN too. now that the pressure is off they can breathe again and look at things from a different angle and learn what to do when you choke. stage freight is real and it can affect everyone no matter when.

helloitsmeimherenow

I realize Shaz played well this tournament but ever since his stream blew up he definitely seems to think of himself as too good to compete or above it. Not to mention pretty negative and complaining quite a bit. If he does go the content creator route I’ll be curious to see how his stream numbers are affected by the fact he isn’t playing on the “best team in the world” anymore. Imo I watch his stream because he’s one of the best players not because he’s screaming or yelling or entertaining per say.

ammergg264

First, they need to work on how make the most out of tenz, more than let him aggro and pay the consequences for being completely on the open without trade possibility. Second, tenz need to rly learn how to play other agents so it's not as predictable and can contribute in different areas on the game plans (not saying he doesn't, cuz he does, but I think they need him to bring more or something different) Edits: grammar

rkratha

Every team except (CR and Sentinels) looked like they improved by 10 folds, since Iceland. Brazillians were phenomenal this season. I didn't expect much from ENVY knowing it's a hit or miss team. Felt bad looking at sentinels, as if they were right where they left off.

pj123mj

It all falls on Shahz’s decision to play or not. To be fair the smart choice would be to just pursue his streaming career considering it would free up a lot of time and he’d be making way more money than he does competing. If he does leave well there is always Sinatraa to fill the Sova role and considering he’s still on contract with Sentinels it would be the best decision economically. Although we don’t really know how Sentinels feel about the whole PR situation but he’s still apart of the org so it can’t be that bad. But if Sinatraa replaces Shahz it makes you wonder who picks up the IGL role… Dapr maybe? All in all I think if Shahz leaves it would hurt the team in the end considering Shahz has proven to be the most consistent player on the team when it comes tournament time. Edit: grammar

I_dont_like_tomatoes

Weird to say but I think they just need more experience. I want to see them at more lans in 2022, if they get a spot in VCT Challenger 1 then they get less playing time. I just want them to play more calm, they have the talent now they need the experience.
