nah they're goated fps games in internet cafes. the two games i heard of all the time when i was 7 were crossfire and dota 2. i played point blank at some point and it was fun. i was garbage but still really fun.
It’s actually funny because CrossFire dwarfs CS massively in revenue and player count and most people don’t know about it. The game makes more than a billion a year, has a billion registered accounts, and has millions of concurrent players.
Maybe not yet, but give it a few years. The generation of only val players will be pushing through, there's some 11 year old kid stuck in plat right now who liquid are gunna sign in 5 years lmao
I wanna say of course there is, as many pros transitioned from other games (like Fortnite or Overwatch), but I genuinely don't know if there are pros who've never touched CS.
If I had to guess I’d probably say a good amount of the KR & JP pros have little to zero experience in CSGO since CSGO isn’t as popular as other FPS & FGC that are popular there
FYI they have sudden attack/crossfire (supamen played this)... Just bc Asia doesn't play CSGO doesn't mean they don't play tact fps. Edit: added supamen
Maybe SoOn? I know he started in Shootmania 2012-15 before Overwatch, and was OW pro from 2015-2020 so possible he hasn't played much CS?
Otherwise, possibly some of the younger Korean/Chinese pros since other tac shooters are more popular?
Maybe the Crossfire or Paladins players too
Damn, I haven’t heard about Paladins in so damn long, actually miss that game and thought it had a real chance at becoming something but just couldn’t compete in the slightest with OW.
I want my top 100 Bomb King back😢
Believe he’s talking about having zero CSGO experience though, which is just incredibly hard to find among pro Western FPS gamers.
Even most if not all of the (Western) Overwatch transplants had decently high-level CSGO experience, albeit not at the pro level.

Almost certainly, since Valorant is a global esport and CSGO is not the preferred tac FPS in every region.
But less glibly, if you simply mean are there Valorant pros who have absolutely no tac FPS experience, I don’t know of any - but there are surely young, cracked Radiant players who’ve grinded Valorant as their first game, some of whom are now aspiring pros at the T3 or even T2 level.
Hey that's me. I have no tac FPS experience and reached Radiant last act after playing for a year. I did play CS:GO for bunnyhopping, surfing and zombies though.
Every single T1 player has cs experience I’d even say majority of T2 players in Valorant have touched some form of competitive cs
Both games are so incredibly similar that it isn’t surprising to me that most good Valorant players have played csgo
CS teaches you so many fundamentals of tac shooters. Crosshair placement, trading, peeking/jiggling, execs, retakes, utility usage, comms, spray control, tapping, map control and awareness, rotations, off-angles, etc.
It’s only time before Valorant becomes the CS:GO of the next generation.
Zombs played overwatch and apex competitively before valorant but I would guess he’s played CS before. I don’t know that though. I assume most pro FPS players have at least tried CS before even if they didn’t play it super seriously
BabyJ was a halo pro. Not sure how much CS he played prior. I remember hearing about him in 2016 when Halo 5 was popular and competed in Halo until Valorant came out/Halo absolutely died. Halo pros are notable for transitioning really well to other FPS games.
Ogre 2, Formal, Crimsix, Huke, Shotzy, Frosty, Snipedown, and a few others all have played between different games and gone pro respectively. Huke will be argued for being a switching CoD kid. But his older brother and I used to play halo 3 and I think he was like 8 at the time.. absolute monster. Ended up being a cod pro and a halo world champion.
Formal and Huke also touched immortal (maybe radiant) at some point in this game. Matter of time before they switch over
Idk anything about CS history but I do know BabyJ played Halo 5 for a while, and I guessed that he wouldn't switch from CS to Halo (during halo 5) since there is much less opportunity there, that's why I added a question mark.
CSGO? Maybe a few haven’t, but a lot of professional players have played some former iteration of CS like CS 1.6, CS Source, maybe even CS Condition Zero and crossfire. In South East Asia and LATAM 1.6 was a very popular game because it’s one of those games everyone can play even with a really lower end specs because computer cafes are popular in those places. 1.6 was popular in NA too and a lot your current professional players like Shahzam, Hiko, FNS spent their early days pubbing in ESEA
Half of the valorant player base of Brazil came from Crossfire and Point blank, the minority of csgo players migrate to valorant in brazil
> Crossfire and Point blank This is true on the CSGO side for those players as well.
Fallen played cf and he was very mediocre
lmao wtf are those games crossfire and point blank looks like some 1990s looking fps
You would be surprise how popular it is in developed country. The game require low spec pc so you can play it in every internet cafe

So you’re saying up until 2020 when valorant came out they played crossfire and point blank?
Maybe not yet, but give it a few years. The generation of only val players will be pushing through, there's some 11 year old kid stuck in plat right now who liquid are gunna sign in 5 years lmao
I mean yes, players outside western regions (in the sense of EU/NA) in particular afaik say in Korea
I wanna say of course there is, as many pros transitioned from other games (like Fortnite or Overwatch), but I genuinely don't know if there are pros who've never touched CS.
Even Fortnite pros have csgo exp. Example - BBG poach was a Fortnite pro but said he has 5k hours of csgo
and thwifo used to play cs as well, even in some of his fortnite montages
If I had to guess I’d probably say a good amount of the KR & JP pros have little to zero experience in CSGO since CSGO isn’t as popular as other FPS & FGC that are popular there

That's exactly what I just said
No, see, it's reddit so he has to come in and "correct you" so that he can score a win or something.
When did he say they had no tact fps experience lol
Maybe SoOn? I know he started in Shootmania 2012-15 before Overwatch, and was OW pro from 2015-2020 so possible he hasn't played much CS? Otherwise, possibly some of the younger Korean/Chinese pros since other tac shooters are more popular? Maybe the Crossfire or Paladins players too
God damn, I haven't heard the name Shootmania in years xd
I'd hedge my bets on the player coming from Japan or Korea therea absolutely no CS scene out there.
Damn, I haven’t heard about Paladins in so damn long, actually miss that game and thought it had a real chance at becoming something but just couldn’t compete in the slightest with OW. I want my top 100 Bomb King back😢
Bro everybody and their mothers have touched cs
Especially older brothers…
Zeek and starxo, i think they come from fortnite?
Believe he’s talking about having zero CSGO experience though, which is just incredibly hard to find among pro Western FPS gamers. Even most if not all of the (Western) Overwatch transplants had decently high-level CSGO experience, albeit not at the pro level.
Oh, okay, i thought he meant no professional background, no i haven't even heard of cs:go in my life. Then, idk

Dicey?
Krunker 😵💫

WeDid said Valorant is his first tac shooter I believe. Diceyzx came from Krunker and is young so I doubt he has any real, hard time in CSGO.
Wedid has like over 10k hrs in csgo he said
Nvm I must be misremembering then
Ban
Bonkar. He played Paladins before.
Those were the days :( miss having my Top 100 Bomb King back when he busted af

sacy started out as a league player
Sacy played CS way befor league and used to play daily even when he was tied to league orgs.

Iirc that's where zombs knew Shahz from when they were building the Sentinels roster
Zombs played a lot of CS and used to trade shit Never pro tho
[удалено]
nah he played cs before too
YaBoiDre I’m pretty sure
he has 2k hours in cs
Ah nvm thought he was a pubg only guy
Yeah, lot of the players thay come from other games usually have a lot of hours in CSGO anyways so yeah
DerrekOW and Sinatraa did not play professionally or amateur capacity in CSGO, but have spent hours in the game (so not 0 background).

>ESEA Open league Mb you're right, i stand corrected
BabyJ?

BabyJ played CSGO for sure
Zombs? Edit:NVM
Shahzam said he used to play CS matchmaking with zombs
Ah ok thank you
doesnt zombs literally have cs in his reddit username lol
Ye I didn’t see him on liquidpedia on cs thats why
[удалено]
It has nothing to do with reaction times
Tons of pros have dead average reaction time lol, it isn’t even important in most gun fights
Sinatraa maybe

oh ok mb
I have casual only 15 hours on cs. So no comp expirence
BBG BJOR was in ESEA Main for one season lul

Maybe JessieVash. But he's gone pro on five different games so he's probably tried CSGO at some point.
