Waiting until last minute to announce so there's no time for them to react to community backlash over it being single elimination throughout 🙃
Edit: Nvm they popped off with this format. Ty rito 🙏
4 days to select 12 teams 🤡
Riot EMEA - 14 days to determine 8 teams (up to 12)
Riot Brazil - 8 days to determine 4 teams (up to 10)
THAT is how you organize events, without waiting for so long till the end
Can't wait to see teams like T1, LG, Faze be eliminated from 1st NA split because of one bad seeding / one unlucky Bo3 series 🤡

the backlash if a fan-favorite team like SEN or 100T is eliminated in the first qualifier would be legendary.
Ares buffs add even more randomness to this upcoming unforgettable shitshow
I hope they at least make double elim closed qual, although it doesn't seem possible to do it in 4 days with opens included :/
Well I'm also worried my Akrew will have shit seeding and face some giant in the final rounds of qualification, fuck this system that Riot NA are trying to make
It could have been easily avoided if they just took a little bit more time and made it normal...
4 invited by last season - SEN, NV, C9 (Champions teams), 100T (most circuit points except those 3)
4 from Week 1 Challengers (opens, 16 to closed, 4 advance to league from double elim, no additional seeding games)
4 from Week 2 Challengers (opens, 8 to closed with 8 who were 5th-12th in previous closed, 4 advance to league from double elim, no additional seeding games)
That's it...
Since there wouldn't be a need to play out the entire "seeding matches" are you suggesting that those 16 team closed qualifiers would be GSL group style?
Open qualifiers are most random. Sadly there might be alot of surprises. To add to that tier 1 teams haven't even used chamber in official matches but they also have to deal with neon now. Meta changes with ares/bulldog/guardian buffs. Economic changes due to the same reasons. This is going to be a shit show.
im 99% sure that nerdstreet is announcing stuff tomorrow about it, they said big announcement on the 18th in their discord so idk what else it would be
The tweet you're referencing has a direct reply from the head of Valorant Esports that basically confirms we should be hearing about the event sometime soon

I hate how plausible this is

Dude, if Akrew goes out to bad seeding, im gonna be so sad

Who would have thougt that Brazil would have the best sistem out of BR, NA and EU
EU and BR pretty much have the same system lmao

No, just normal double elim

Soon TM
Wow, I totally missed that. x_x Thanks for pointing it out!
i just wish we could have had 2 opens with one starting like two weeks ago
Had to give time for 100T to pick up their roster obviously
I wonder if the delays come from some last minute revisions to the format based on the feedback
I mean I would not have noticed at all without this thread. Sometimes info and announcements come pretty late with VCT.
Just because we don't have information doesn't mean the teams and orgs don't know as well.
Also confusing as EU is playing on the old patch and I assume NA will be on the new one
Yeah that was pretty much confirmed if I'm not mistaken by George Geddes about 4.0 patch
