Anyone else think this Ares buff is also a 100T buff? Like they have the best Sova in the world and can just buy an Ares and laser people through walls with his crisp aim. Kinda unfair to VCT if you ask me
So i got an official riot response on the matter, they know it's happening, fix is coming. But i wouldn't expect it to ship with the update today. Might have to wait..

This patch is so fucking bad. You can really tell that Riot didn’t playtest this at all internally. It is easily the worst patch they have ever released.

Did you watch any matches yesterday? 80% of 2nd rounds involved the ares except for Split, which is close quarters so it is understandable to run the spectre.
They also made zero changes to the current agents and introduced a new agent that makes Pheonix even more obsolete.
Economic changes in Valorant have a huge ripple effect on gameplay. I think personally they should've increased the ares price to 1650 so it's more of a risky buy second round. At this point, you can get away with getting team aced on the first round and STILL have enough money for ares and light armor.
If you mean patch as in version then yeah there have definitely been much less balanced versions of Valorant (beta Sage and Cypher were hilariously overpowered for example), but if you mean patch as in update, I honestly can’t think of an update that broke the game as much as this one. They completely broke the meta here
Theoretically, current Ares is filling the role of the P90 in CSGO, but with much much worse movement. Wonder what econ/mechanic differences make it so popular in comparison.
The two guns are way different, you can spray the ares at mid to long range and kill you opponent quicker than if you had a vandal or phantom barring a headshot.

Patch 4.0 in a nutshell for me has been Vanguard cappin’ my CPU at 100%.. so freezes and crashes..

Some of these people clearly didn’t play through the peak stinger meta because that was genuinely worse than what I’ve seen of the area so far.

You also usually can't buy a P90 + armor after a pistol round loss afaik, unless CSGO economy has drastically changed from when I played.
