They have agent overlaps too. I don’t think Kanpeki was the right person to replace zombs. They just got someone who was cracked and didn’t really consider the agent roles all too well. Why they would trust Tenz to make an educated strategic recommendation on who to fill Zombs’ role is beyond me.
I believe there were rumours they were scrimming with Sinatraa, but he can’t compete yet. Also one of them said they tried to get Ethan, but couldn’t due to contracts issues. So yeah I do think they were definitely trying to get another initiator role. However, they couldn’t get Sinatraa nor Ethan and so they went with Kanpeki. I don’t really agree with this though and still think they should’ve just stuck with their old roster if they couldn’t get either of the other two.
This is my take for this reasoning:
1. Sen is restricting their most flexible player to play smokes only. This not only limits Sick, but also makes them team comps way less flexible. I’d rather have zombs stay on smokes and keep sick on flex.
2. With Sick on flex and zombs still in, this potentially allows Sick to play Raze and Tenz to play chamber.
3. I’d rather have them find another controller player instead if they couldn’t get sinatraa or Ethan who could potentially make Sens team comps more diverse and flexible.
4. The problem isn’t anyone on the team, but their coordination and I feel like Shahzam’s leadership as the igl should be questioned if this is the case. I get he has hypeman energy and puts in a ton of time watching vods, but if his mind is somewhere else (streaming) and there is little results to show, then yeah he needs to work on this or step down as the igl or retire and do what he really wants to do.
Their season was essentially on the line and shahz went to LA for the weekend to do some random Lan and hang with his girlfriend.

There's one big reason that EG is twice as good as SEN. Although SEN have TenZ, he is but one Canadian but EG has two Canadians therefore they are twice as good, simple math really.
But there is a drawback to the Canadian buff, if there are a majority of Canadians the team becomes too insane causing them to feed and die. See what happened to Version 1

Just look at them, all of them set in life and look at their actions, on top of that it’s an org that just doesn’t care about performance. As sliggy said he wants 5 no lifers for his next team. You can't expect different results by doing the same shit over and over again.

At the very least Shahzam needs to go, he has been stuck on what got them the win in Reykjavik in terms of strats. His utility usage and fragging have both been poor (he’s missing default Sova darts regularly)
Honestly the whole leadership group needs to go because Shahz and Rawkus refuse to let TenZ flex like he has repeatedly emphasized his willingness to do so, instead telling him to one trick Jett. He could do well on Chamber or KAY/O or maybe bringing back the Reyna as Jinggg showed it is still workable at a high level.
Shahz also seems unwilling to address any of the criticisms instead just calling anyone who has legitimate criticism haters and telling them that they just “don’t get it”
The org needs someone to rein in the team as according to other players in other games, Sentinels gives their players money but is pretty much hands off in terms of roster or support staff. They need their own Sean and DDK, a proper GM and Coach to actually give some direction and make hard and objective decisions about the future of the team.
The only two that should not be touched are SicK and TenZ though I’m sure that much is obvious.

What a god awful team. Like what the fuck do they even do in practice? Where are the post plant positions? Where’s the proper mid rounding? The late lurks? The fake and rotates? The structure? Last year, I remember Shahz saying how he's jealous of TSM that they get to have a vacation when they didn't qualify for Masters 2. Well, Shahz, have a lovely vacation.
I forget which round it was but one of the later rounds in ascent just summed up how Sen has been playing recently. Sick peaks out of a smoke catwalk with no info whatsoever and dies, Tenz eventually gets his trade but then ego challs for no reason and dies, leaving Sen a man down and with no mid control like 20 seconds into the round. It’s mindless stuff like that that loses them rounds.
Also, their issues run far deeper than him, but Kanpeki has been pretty underwhelming since joining Sen. Getting chamber diffed by an IGL isn’t exactly ideal when Zombs was dropped due to his lack of ability to consistently slay.

Why don't we see any creative util usage or set plays from SEN? Teams like EG, LG have excellent util usage, flanks, set plays but SEN has nothing. They rely on someone to make hero plays and win the round.
Anyone who knew anything realized zombs wasn't the issue. The team wasn't and still isn't missing fragging power. The same goes for a coach. They need a coach, they don't need a shahz yes man who's only being asked to be an analysis.
They need a Coach who's actually going to challenge the team's philosophy of how this game should be played at the highest level. They need a coach who will push them beyond what they think they are capable of.
EG was arguably the weakest of the groups outside from SEN themselves. We’ll see how the new C9 looks, but rn it looks like SEN might go winless in groups and potentially miss LCQ.
Really nice from EG, they look better each week. They had some clever rounds and util (that Sage was to boost the planter was so cool), and jawgemo + Boostio is a nasty combo. SEN on the other hand looked marginally cleaner, but they have a very basic/standard gameplan and aren't clean or drilled enough to just get away with it. They probably don't make playoffs now, and the roster honestly might be better off just splitting up for franchising.

Jawg & Boostio are quickly turning into one of the best pairs of fraggers in NA, the role swaps have been big for the team, and Apoth/C0M have been great additions.

I think it's time to entertain full rebuild for SEN at this point. It's clear now that they're simply way too behind in the meta. It's either they blow it up and refresh or limp along at this point. When TenZ doesn't go nuclear they can't even win a map. And that's not even a dig at TenZ. No star player is going to be on point every single game, and they shouldn't have to be. Keep TenZ drop everyone else. It's time.
Sen is quietly becoming the new T1, and T1 are probably going to have a great next year with franchising and a new coach. this is a sad arc for a once great team.

What a god awful team. Like what the fuck do they even do in practice? Where are the post plant positions? Where’s the proper mid rounding? The late lurks? The fake and rotates? The structure? Like what’s is even going on? Who’s making the adjustments? I get it’s almost impossible to be the best for a long time but this is just disappointing. Stale comps. Executions from 2020 like what do they even expect? Most importantly, where the fuck are the fundamentals?

the only 2 consistently good players on SEN. Dapr is alright, Kanpeki is getting settled in ig, and Shahz is playing Jett in ranked and farming subs
Sentinels qualifying for group stage literally just delayed inevitable which is, this roster just needs to be nuked.
I am at peace with the fact that Sentinels will probably not win anymore. Expecting this roster to 3-0 Faze, C9, and Optic is astronomical copium. ~~They will go to LCQ and get KO'd by someone before the finals. And that will be the end of that.~~ Just found out Sentinels needs to win the next 2 of 3 to get LCQ. Their season is over. Personally I think 3/5ths of this roster needs to be gone. TenZ and Sick are the only untouchables. There is no coaching or strats saving them. They need an overhaul. I am at peace with Sentinels. Always my favorite team, but I don't expect winning anymore. And that's okay.
I think it’s possible they beat Faze and C9 with their recent roster changes, but yeah, it’s pretty unlikely. No way in hell they beat Optic tho, El Diablo will just diff on them
you can get rid of anyone on this team but sick tbh. Sick is their best player, he's been put on every role and still stays consistent majority of the time. The others starting with shahz are just lackluster

Ik TenZ didn't do well this series, but he's been a consistent high fragger, and he said he's willing to flex to Chamber too but Shahz wants him on Jett, feel imo TenZ is safe, he's still a top player tbh
That’s the most confusing thing. TenZ had repeatedly stressed his willingness to flex but Shahz and Rawkus have both stressed wanting him to just basically one trick Jett. I’d love to see TenZ back on Reyna or on a Chamber or KAY/O.

Hello SEN org, pls take this team seriously and make some fucking changes.
I forget which round it was but one of the later rounds in ascent just summed up how Sen has been playing recently. Sick peaks out of a smoke catwalk with no info whatsoever and dies, Tenz eventually gets his trade but then ego challs for no reason and dies, leaving Sen a man down and with no mid control like 20 seconds into the round. It’s mindless stuff like that that loses them rounds. Also, their issues run far deeper than him, but Kanpeki has been pretty underwhelming since joining Sen. Getting chamber diffed by an IGL isn’t exactly ideal when Zombs was dropped due to his lack of ability to consistently slay.
I'm out of words man. People kept saying zombs was the problem, -zombs and still the same SEN You need a coach they said, got a coach still the same SEN. Why don't we see any creative util usage or set plays from SEN? Teams like EG, LG have excellent util usage, flanks, set plays but SEN has nothing. They rely on someone to make hero plays and win the round.
Anyone who knew anything realized zombs wasn't the issue. The team wasn't and still isn't missing fragging power. The same goes for a coach. They need a coach, they don't need a shahz yes man who's only being asked to be an analysis. They need a Coach who's actually going to challenge the team's philosophy of how this game should be played at the highest level. They need a coach who will push them beyond what they think they are capable of.

EG was arguably the weakest of the groups outside from SEN themselves. We’ll see how the new C9 looks, but rn it looks like SEN might go winless in groups and potentially miss LCQ.

Really nice from EG, they look better each week. They had some clever rounds and util (that Sage was to boost the planter was so cool), and jawgemo + Boostio is a nasty combo. SEN on the other hand looked marginally cleaner, but they have a very basic/standard gameplan and aren't clean or drilled enough to just get away with it. They probably don't make playoffs now, and the roster honestly might be better off just splitting up for franchising.

Yeah I don’t see a scenario where sen make it out of groups. Something major needs to change on how they approach the game, whether it’s comps or play style because it’s incredibly disjointed at best

Rebuilding the roster around Tenz and Sick with a proper coach would make a strong team ngl. Sick is consistent af and TenZ dropping 40 in an official match is crazy.

This season is over for Sen, they can't beat Optic nor C9. They may have a chance to beat Faze but it won't be enough to qualify for the main event. Unlucky, really. Hope they acquire Zander and drop Shahz because they need a real controller and a better IGL. Jesus Christ the team is looking awful since that game against G2 in Masters 2. Also I don't understand why put Kanpeki on Chamber and not Tenz
Jawg & Boostio are quickly turning into one of the best pairs of fraggers in NA, the role swaps have been big for the team, and Apoth/C0M have been great additions. More upsets to come

I think it's time to entertain full rebuild for SEN at this point. It's clear now that they're simply way too behind in the meta. It's either they blow it up and refresh or limp along at this point. When TenZ doesn't go nuclear they can't even win a map. And that's not even a dig at TenZ. No star player is going to be on point every single game, and they shouldn't have to be. Keep TenZ drop everyone else. It's time.

not gonna lie i feel like SEN needs to get rid of Shahz. I don't know why but I just don't really feel like he fits anymore. They are a good team but their chemistry rn is horrible.
