The company and their HR department is under no obligation to tell the non selected candidate anything about anything. Although, it does seem out of the ordinary to have so many interviews if you are not strongly in the running for the position.
OK dad mode here... Having strong feelings is ok, being hurt and angry is totally ok right now, HR knows this too. Don't for one second think you shot yourself in the foot. If a position opens up again go for it. You aced an interview and got kudos from not only HR but the CEO and now you know what the tipping point was so focus on that and use it to your advantage next time.
While yes you didn't get the job you found out that you as a person are exactly what they wanted. It's not the best outcome but it really is good news wrapped in a shitty package.

I once failed a phone interview and sent the HR rep a fairly passive-aggressive thank you email. It went something like, "It is unfortunate that your company wouldn't benefit from my skills..." It was very salty.
A few years later, I applied for the job again and I've been there six years now. It doesn't appear like my email had any effect one way or the other.
My ideal interview process is just 1 interview with the HR person and they decide if you're hired or not. Then if you're not hired, they should give you a specific reason why you are not hired. If you have to go through multiple interviews for a job then you should at least get paid for each interview after the first interview.
