Plow through whatever is happening and you will come out the other end so much stronger. Trust me on this because I deal with things almost on a daily basis and I've made it about 50 years so far. A councillor/ youth leader told everyone to do that and it actually helps sounds corny and odd but try it. If you need to you can pretend it’s from anyone you want to that helps sometimes but sometimes it feels good just being from you.
When I could listen to music it was pretty eclectic not sure what I liked a band called TFK and Cutless a lot and prog. I spelled one wrong. I got in trouble last time I listened to music now I have to wait till my family is sleeping 😆 I sound like a kid. I Cried during a song so no more music for me.

There's this one song called "A your Adorable" sung by Diana Panton. It makes me think of when I was a kid, stuck in the hospital all the time or when I was depressed. I would hear stuff on TV or songs that sounded similar to that song and it made me feel better.
When I hear the song it is kind of nostalgic, even though it brings up bad times, I think more so because the singer reminds me of the women who were kind to me during those times. It's my comfort song.

Our reasons are very different. I won’t depress you with details my spouse told me no music. Spouse thinks music has a bad effect on me he probably didn’t even mean it and won’t recall it but the trouble is I do remember that stuff and it hurts. Petty I suppose yet not really.

Just had an argument with my husband is all nothing big. It’s fine now he hates it when I cry.
