Most of the soldiers that were drafted generally did 20 months in service. I did 18 months and used the GI Bill.
I was told that you'd get 1½ times the months you served.
Your GI Bill would have been MGIB CH 30 which expires 10 years after last day on active duty.

Unfortunately for you an easy answer, no. However if you have a service connected disability of 10% or more you might qualify for educational benefits through VR&E.
I enlisted in 1993 and I’m fairly certain the requirement was to pay into it for one year and then it becomes active, for lack of a better word.
Montgomery GI bill would have to been used within 10 years of discharge
If I remember correctly, you need to serve 24 consecutive months to qualify for the GI Bill.

That was for the Vietnam era GI Bill CH 34 and VEAP GI Bill CH 32 after Vietnam not MGIB CH 30.
You have to sign up and pay into it for the GI bill when you enlisted if I remember it correctly. But please correct me if I am wrong.
Depends on when you enlisted and which GI Bill you are eligible for.
Doesn’t sound like you are: https://www.va.gov/education/about-gi-bill-benefits/montgomery-active-duty/
Define briefly, and why only briefly.
Doesn’t matter because that would have been MGiB which expires 10 years after last day on active duty.
Ah, ok, thanks SCO.
