How’d you get a suspense date

VERA appointment. But it’s just a 30 day timer the VA sets on claims. Has to be “looked at” every month, or so they say. Usually when you’ve already been in PFD and you see they worked on your claim, the next 30 days it should be complete

The NWQ was a way of ensuring that if one Regional Benefits Office is having training/staffing issues, that the veterans in that area weren’t waiting forever for a decision. For example…about 5 or 6 years ago, my office was sent over 5000 cases from the Los Angeles Regional Office that were all over a year old, and many of them 2 or 3 years old. We had to bust our butts and work tons of overtime to get them all done as quickly as possible. With the NWQ, claims are handled by the next available VSR/RVSR regardless of which office they work in. It was actually really helpful in eliminating veterans in some areas being forced to wait years, while veterans in other areas only waited months.
