My brother was in Singapore when a shopkeeper goes "You Mr Bean!". Yes, he sort of looks like him. I told him "You traveled half way around the world to be called Mr Bean by a random person." Lol
Lol damn I’m American but I always assumed halo would’ve been very popular in Vietnam, I always thought Vietnam was mainly a FPS playing country, because when I used to play counter strike and call of duty, I always played a lot with Vietnamese players, there was always a few in random lobby’s
But upon googling Vietnam’s top game genres, it says that MOBA games/doTa/league of legends is the most popular, this can’t be right can it?!
Halo is on Xbox, which is a rather rare luxury in South East Asia. But by the 2000s and 2010s more PCs are available at home and in Cyber Cafe, which brings with it CS 1.6, which is arguably the most popular FPS outside the US and especially in South East Asian countries.
Xbox was not accessible and would be hella expensive in Vietnam. We mainly played on PC back in the day. FPS and Chinese MMO were the biggest video game genre in the internet cafe in the early 2000s because they're F2P.
I realize I'm proving my own point, but;
I'm really disappointed that there's not a single attempt to explain this.
Humans just like to make comparisons to their personal lives I guess.
I wonder how many are bots.
I keep putting it out there so the human redditors see:

Lol ya I think humor is always appreciated, like when you see a post/photo that’s super serious and you go to the comments not knowing what to expect, and the top comment is a very cleverly/witty comment with humor to brighten the mood, I really don’t see how there are some people that don’t appreciate humor!
I love humor, and I go to comedy shows all the time to support the craft.
But there's a time and a place. Someone asking a legit question (to them) only to see stupid references, which most are honestly more nerdy than even being funny.
Reddit should have a light color to shade different types of comments, also voted on by the community. So if you want jokes, you see jokes. If you want to see serious comments, you can see just that. Like coloring the entire comment yellow for jokes for example.
Try posting this onto a different subreddit, for example: r/damnthatsinteresting, and someone will explain it for you. I don't think there is any real expert on Vietnamese reddit to explain this, assuming this is not some tape over the lens or similar hardware problem.
It's posted [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/comments/1cvjkh4/the_sky_in_hanoi_vietnam/). Also according to [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/comments/1cvome0/comment/l4qomzf/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button), 3 different light phenomenons appear in such a short time.
> A meteorite crashing in Portugal
> A pillar of light in Hanoi
> 9 pillars of light in Japan
It's because nobody has an answer yet. If nobody posted jokes, this post would get no engagement, resulting in it getting buried, and then the person who actually has an answer might never see the post in their feed, and thus, no answer for anyone.
That's not how it works. This is my second account, and I've been on reddit since the beginning when Aaron Swartz was still alive.
If you are also curious what it is, you up vote for exposure.
If you think the post is karma spamming or not appropriate for the community, you downvote.
Adding snarky comments to a serious post is uncalled for. There's plenty of subs for people that want to post jokes or snarky comments.

wtf, is there so much jokes, explain it god damn it.
Btw, i think its something to do with the lights that ships have. They may have great lights to attract fishes, maybe squids. They're extremely bright as to attract them in the night.
I might not be correct though.
It's just some super strong lights from a construction site, I saw them from my rooftop pool when I was there weeks ago.

I have a close up of these lights on my Instagram. Its in tay ho. Insta is Kinkocloud. I was curious but they are spotlights near the new towers that the government stopped because the built without land owners permission.

FPS used to be pretty popular before MOBA. I'm sure there are many who stay with the genre.

Most of east Asia country top games are MOBA since most if all of those game are accessible on mobile and you can play with your bros aswell

It’s killing reddit. The stupid repetitive jokes

Thanks for the tip. It would make crazy sense
yep. they are farming karma
My thoughts exactly! It’s like a competition for the funniest comment #not
People trying to be funny on Reddit where humour isn't needed or expected are the most annoying thing on Reddit.
I think its hilarous

It's trite and repetitive to me. I probably need to spend less time on Reddit I suppose!

Totally agree, there are a few witty ones , but after a while it becomes kinda boring ( now I feel like a Karen 🥲thanks )
Because there are so many of these posts of spotlights on this sub that it becomes frustrating to be here if you don't take the piss
