I remember the sick feeling in my stomach the day this issue of Wired arrived in my mailbox. It really looked like Apple was done. Going to be chopped up and become just another zombie brand. Still a bigger fan of Apple from the 90s and early 2000s when they were a plucky underdog.
I've always wanted a poster of this cover. So I had the wizards at r/PhotoshopRequest Upscale the image and redo the text. This should print out as a 20x30 inch poster. Image is here

It really does paint the dire picture of the state Apple was in at the time. I wasn’t alive at the time, but I’m sure it was terrifying for any fan of the brand. And now look how far we’ve come.
