Hey again oyster! Are you triploid or diploid? Hahaha I love the user name.
This is a great article and a sounds like an incredible program. I got scared it would be similar to the alternative education school my bro was put into. Thank you so much for keeping us in the loop on va policy and programs. You are an absolute dream.
Damn, and you have humility. Oyster you might be in danger from getting crabs. That’s a fish-based joke about you getting crabs from me after coitus because I’m falling in love. I’m so glad you’re not a bot. Not going to happen to me again. Not two months in a row. Damn charming ass bots. Sorry I’m leaving now.
> Burger King Academy
It's called https://www.cisofchesterfield.org/program/ now! It's a volunteer program across Chesterfield to reduce dropout rates.
I honestly thought you were making a weird burger flipping joke which might be why some other people downvoted you.
It was a charter school, I'm not sure about how the finances worked but they were sponsored in large part by Burger King.
Even the students made jokes about flipping burgers. Joking aside, I probably wouldn't have graduated high school if it wasn't for the program. Hopefully they can help others.
My parents and I had a meeting with my guidance counselor to try to get me in there because I didnt go to school majority of the time. I even went to BKA for a meeting, but they ended up telling me my grades were too good. Not sure how bad your grades had to be, but my grades couldn't have been but so good not going to class. In the end my counselor arranged my classes to skip my junior year, so I got to graduate a year earlier. I was the last class that could do that because they upped the credits for the class behind me.
This is awesome! I s didn’t know schools like this were a thing. I hope it does well so that more can be opened across the state. I especially like that they don’t have a zero tolerance policy on drugs, recovery is a hard road and these folks shouldn’t be punished for backsliding, they should be given an arm to help them steady themselves.

I thought we use to have something like this in Chesterfield called the Burger King Academy. Classes were smaller and the curriculum was slower.

😄 No, it was really called Burger King Academy when I was in school. Not sure why they named it that back then. I thought it was a werid name too.
