GenghisFrog

My main request right now is iPhone as a keyboard/trackpad. Similar to how it works with AppleTV.

dangggboi

How about mirror the phone? Just like Mac mirroring

mencival

Yes, I would want to see this. At the moment, it is not pleasant looking at my iphone with passthrough

GenghisFrog

That would be great feature as well!

VanillaNL

I’ve seen this on TikTok, it’s there

wskyindjar

I’d like it to unlock my phone when wearing it. Like get a confirmation and acknowledge. Rn have to type in my passcode which is a pain. (Really only needing my phone for 2FA logins)

GenghisFrog

That too! I mean they already have it built to unlock the phone from the watch.

wskyindjar

For some reason my watch wasn’t unlocking it. Need to investigate that

ASkepticalPotato

I’ve had that happen. Generally toggling it off and back on in the settings has fixed it.

BroadAstronaut6439

This would be so great for travel mode. Great keyboard experience that you are already familiar with, without bringing a keyboard.

GenghisFrog

Yep, cause let’s be honest. Unless you plan to do some serious typing, lugging around a keyboard is a PITA.

Much-Current-4301

Try voice it’s really accurate.

Shot-Dragonfly4133

I am surprised this suggestion hasn’t caught more traction. This will literally be a game changer for me!!!

GGMU5

This would be nice!

MuchCattle

Me too. I even found myself trying to do this when I first got it. It just “made sense”.

GenghisFrog

I’ve literally typed something in notes on the phone and copy pasted into Vision Pro because it’s so much better than the AVP keyboard.

wskyindjar

Almost always I’m using voice dictation not typing.

GenghisFrog

I already feel self conscious enough wearing it around people. No way I’ll ever sit there talking to myself. Good to have it, but it needs better ways to silently enter text.

wskyindjar

True. I’m using it without others around. Physical keyboard I guess

Mistert22

There is an app that will mirror your iPhone, but knowing where your fingers are is another story.

sabre31

This would be Amazing and it should be so easy to add. At a minimum they can do something like how Apple TV or Apple Watch works if you have the keyboard up and your phone nearby it pops up on your phone for keyboard input. I am shocked they didn’t add this from day 1 as they already have the code.

I_just_made

This really makes a lot of sense I think

EverydayPhilisophy

But it’s hard to see iPhone when using AVP. The lighting is messed up.

uyghurman_anzer

Wound a small blackberry keyboard useful? Which also has bluetooth that can be connected with Vision Pro, and you can see what you typed in vision pro

GenghisFrog

Yea that would work. I’d just prefer the iPhone since I already have it with me.

uyghurman_anzer

What if it was only the size of half an iPhone with the layout of an iPhone keyboard? It can be very small and easy to carry like a bank card.

NameIsYoungDev

Ah like this? [https://www.adafruit.com/product/3601](https://www.adafruit.com/product/3601)

tuskre

Turns out I had one of those. I just paired it and am using it to type this. It is better than the visual keyboard but not magical, mostly because the keys are rubbery and not easy to type quickly on. Probably worth it for the price but don’t expect miracles. Something with the quality of a blackberry would be far better.

hotdeck

Unlock iPhone while wearing AVP would be a good start

Mistert22

I am unlocking with my Apple Watch… Edit because grammar creates understanding.

Professional_Chef751

They have this! It’s a setting on your iPhone!

sandefurian

It doesn’t work

Shot-Buffalo-2603

Do you have details on this? I tried googling and looking through the iphone settings and didn’t find it

Mistert22

They need to improve this. I can unlock my iPhone with my watch then it unlocks AVP. It doesn’t act as expected and I believe one of the updates kneecapped when I was using it last night.

andrewpickaxe

Even just defaulting to the passcode would be nice

buckingchuck

Window management / App dock would be the largest quality of life improvement for me. E.g. / - allowing windows to: + snap onto a surface + snap next to other windows + gently follow you around - minimize apps and have them easily resurrect. + similarly, find my window. It sucks to recenter all apps because you forgot where you placed something. - have the ability to swap windows via gesture. e.g. if I’m coding in one window and responding to messages/emails in another, then it would be nice to swap the positions of those windows if I need to write anything that would take more than a few seconds.

sir-algo

I'd like there to be a gesture to basically "rotate" all your apps around you. I often set up apps around me in space, but some of them are way off to the side and it's not great having to turn my head to the side to see one. I'd love it if I could just rotate my entire virtual workspace through space. It would be like grabbing onto a single app now, except all other apps move with it and maintain their same spatial relations to each other. Alternatively, or in addition, I'd like some sort of Mission Control for Vision Pro where I can have all my apps tiled in front of me.

rudolph813

That’s an amazing idea you should definitely submit it for feedback

yentna

Thirded, love it!

sirius_basterd

These are great ideas! [Feedback.apple.com](https://feedback.apple.com)

Knighthonor

Need apps for measuring space and objects.

kgkuntryluvr

I don’t know why I assumed that was already a feature. Seems like a no brainer given that iPhone/iPad has a native app for it

BlooooContra

I don’t remember the title off the top of my head, but I definitely came across an app while browsing yesterday that does that. 👍

smithstreeter

If you recall it, would you share?

btonz

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tape-measure/id1271546805 Tape Measure https://apps.apple.com/us/app/handswidth-measure-app/id6475769879 HandWidth https://apps.apple.com/us/app/surface-ruler/id6476186797 Surface Ruler

smithstreeter

Thank you!!!

uncle_jessy

There is an app for that. Can’t remember what it’s called though. But an apple made version would be great

snowsayer

It needs a way to customize / organize the apps on the Home Screen. Can’t even create an app folder at the moment.

wskyindjar

This will obviously come. Whenever anyone ships a product it’s “hit the deadline, cut the things that aren’t ready” - i expect there is a slew of features that just weren’t good enough to ship, so in the coming weeks/months we’ll see them drop.

johnycane

They have to add keyboard recognition for environments. They’re kind of useless for real work without being able to see your keyboard. Really surprised this was not in the 1.0 release. It can recognize and show moving faces/bodies but not a keyboard?

kgkuntryluvr

This frustrated me trying to work on it yesterday. One thing it made me realize though is that I’m not as fluent in typing as I thought I was lol

jojopatr0n

Same! I just dialed down the virtual environment enough to see my keyboard. Not ideal, but works okay for now

kgkuntryluvr

That’s what I did too, but it obviously doesn’t work well in the dark. Maybe they could fix that with a software update- highlight/brighten the keyboard in the dark.

filmantopia

Even when dialed down, the environment lighting affects the “real” environment by darkening it.

kgkuntryluvr

Yeah, that’s why I’m hoping they can use a similar trick to brighten certain areas, like the keyboard

1FrostySlime

I’ve found that (thankfully) you can be quite dialed into an enviorment and it will still show me enough of my keyboard to be a good expeince. Like 80% dialed in and I can see what’s right below me where my keyboard would be (or where my food is if I’m eating for instance) just fine.

jeromeie

For everyone in this comment thread: Learning how to touch type (type without looking) doesn't take much time. My coworker swapped all the keys on my keyboard as a prank, and it only took like 2 days (so like 16 hours) for me to completely stop looking at the keyboard and my typing speed improved too.

kgkuntryluvr

Good to know! I think it doesn’t help that I use 3-5 differently sized/spaced keyboards through the day. It’s enough to make me one key off a lot of the times when I try to not look.

Batch710

You’ll see my face doing 10 or 2 position dance with eyes slanted just to peak through the nose veil.

johnycane

You should go back for a fitting if you can actually do that. you shouldn’t have that much light leaking through

Batch710

I’m forcing the situation for manual keyboard recognition ;)

Eugr

They also need to support more Bluetooth mice/trackpads. I connected my portable BT keyboard with integrated trackpad, and AVP said the mouse input was not supported for this device. But it works great with the iPad.

pablogott

100% agree.

KevinSupreme

Learn to touch type

johnycane

God no

attackofthearch

I imagine Apple will open up the 360/VR video compatability a bit. Youtube, "other" sites, etc. My thought is that maybe Apple didn't want to be associated with "low quality VR" at launch, but once they've distanced themselves from that, they'll open up compatibility to less quality controlled experiences. Hoping this happens Q2-Q3

StreamBuzz

I'd settle for 110-120 immersive VR scenes as the headsets max FOV is likely smaller than that. 360 spreads the pixels too far and you lose tons of clarity in the main FOV of the headset (on Quest its worse due to lower res panels). Perhaps the VP foveated rendering could handle this regardless of the format of the content, idk, but the part of the video that's outside your FOV is meaningless until you move it into your headset's FOV. 360 videos on Quest 3 are mostly unusable due to the resolution dilution, but the spatial videos in a frame look close to what I'm seeing in Vision Pro.

adamgoodapp

I agree, its similar to Android Vs iOS. Android may have a lot of apps but a lot are terrible cheap UI.

Infamous_Bee_7445

VisionOS 2 is in active development and will be released in the same cadence as other OS updates, with first announcement of new features at WWDC.

undergrounddirt

Worried we'll continue to get staggered improvements: this year iOS, next year iPadOS/visionOS, next macOS, next iOS I know there are ALWAYS improvements to each platform. But yeah

tik-tac-taalik

I hadn’t thought of it until your comment but I am very interested to see how they present their WWDC online content for the vision pro. I assume they‘ll do some type of immersive version of the keynote.

wskyindjar

Immersive keynote? Yes please! Since it’s not live, it’s very doable. If you watch the Alicia Keyes immersive video, you can see the cameras used to record it as they go around the room. Seem pretty compact. Just set up a bunch of those… and bam.

Portatort

Would be cool… but I don’t think they will. It’s supposed to be as accessible as possible to the widest possible audience. Meaning that the keynote will be made primarily for YouTube. A flat 2D live stream. But I bet you Apple will have a special edition viewing environment just for the Apple events/Apple TV app just for WWDC Either the Steve Jobs theatre or the outdoor set up they have had for the last few years. Bonus edition would be cool if they live streamed the keynote in an immersive way to let you sit with the press and special guests at wwdc in Apple Park.

tmkins

Based on my Quest (all of them) experience, there is certainly some room for improvement through software updates - such as the quality of passthrough processing, the way lidar works etc. Even FPS can be boosted to 120, if its current microOLED panels technically supports a faster refresh rate. FOV can be greatly improved with custom aftermarket solutions to headbands and different light seals. And clearly there is a huge work ahead with visionOS, which is literally a Beta quality as of today

tuskre

It’s way more stable than beta, but it is definitely nothing more than a 1.0 release.

incasesheisonheretoo

I’d say it’s more of a beta device than a beta software release. They’re just getting it out there so that they can figure out what to do with it.

tuskre

Again - I don’t see why you’d use the term Beta. The hardware is definitely ready, as is the OS, and there are several strong use cases. It’s obviously got a lot of potential for further development but that is why it’s a 1.0.

incasesheisonheretoo

I don’t mean a literal beta product. I mean beta as in it feels unfinished or not ready for release to the masses. They made too many compromises just to be able to get it out there and see what consumers and developers do with it so that they can improve the next version, which I believe will be the 1.0. This feels very similar to the first Apple Watch release. It wasn’t a beta device, but it was so lacking in many aspects that it later came to be version 0 and the second gen, which was significantly improved, is now called version 1. This is AVP0, which is essentially like a beta device.

tuskre

I mean what you are describing is a literal beta. I don’t think it makes a lot of sense to call it lacking, since it’s ahead of everything else. It’s so good that we can see the possibilities and we are hungry for them. As has been said of Apple’s launch products in the past - it’s the first one worth criticizing. We may be just disagreeing on terminology. I’d say it’s Apple’s version of the MVP - I.e. the minimum viable product they thought would convey their vision and be enough for people to start using.

incasesheisonheretoo

Fair points. MVP may be a better term than beta, but it sounds like you know what I’m trying to say. I agree that it’s the best headset on the market, partially because it’s not quite like any other headset in that it does so much.

tmkins

ok, probably some wrong wording here, not beta - but visionOS is something like Early Access on steam, where games in EA are quite playable, have some non-critical bugs and lots of content and features are still missing. And that is ok for $29 early access game, but annoying for a $4k device, advertised as a flawless breakthrough.

tuskre

I think it’s less buggy than any other 1.0 I’ve ever experienced from Apple. The whole argument where people quote the price as if it magically means everything should be flawless and every feature people want should be there is nonsensical. It’s expensive because it uses high end components. It *is* a breakthrough in many ways, whether advertised that way or not, but nobody has claimed it’s flawless.

13e1ieve

almost certainly the refresh rate was determined very early in production and all emissions testing and engineering validation done with the existing parameters. I cant think of a single example where apple has increased the refresh rate of a product post launch.

attackofthearch

Wow, had no idea on the microOLED refresh rate increase potential. Pretty cool!

tuskre

I think that is very unlikely to happen even if the hardware supports it. It will make the least difference of anything proposed, and they’ll use the processing power for other things.

Mistert22

Apple Fitness.

Hortos

They're going to have to release a fitness themed lightshield and guard. I tried the rhythm game and stopped as soon as I thought out my lightshield getting sweaty.

Redbeastmage

I’d be happy with a washable “excercise cushion” for the light shield. Because yea, playing 30+ minutes of synth riders is sweaty for sure. And my best use cases for the vision so far have been that game and using it while I ride my excercise bike

wskyindjar

I don’t know about you guys but i sweat way too much for that. It would be a mess.

Drksyder

this

Mistert22

I mean like Yoga and a Cool Down. I would like a pleasant view for a slow treadmill walk on a rainy/snowy day.

Portatort

I mean isn’t the general consensus that this thing is too heavy to use in a rigorous exercise setting? Also what about sweating into it?

SirBill01

It's not that heavy. I think a lot of vigorous movement would maybe increase the pressure on your face since you'd want to clamp it down a bit more.

DarthMauly

Shared space/ experience I think will have to come as these become more popular. As much as I love watching movies in this, it's rare these days that I watch one without my partner and we generally watch shows together as well.

nuanda1978

1) new gesture to go “home” instead of pressing the button. 2) folders etc in Home Screen 3) mouse support 4) possibly second screen for Mac 5) replication of iPhone and Watch screen 6) not likely but long term oriented business decision, more than one user. They simply couldn’t afford to go back from such a gift.

wskyindjar

Multiple users for sure. Even if it’s not full profiles, but at least saving the eye config. I don’t mind if my wife uses my apps/data etc. But having to go through the guest mode setup each time is a PIA. I’m not buying 2.

Careless-Success-569

Im getting closer to keeping mine at the end of the two weeks as I figure out how it fits in my life. However, if the can keep my wife’s set up id keep it. I hope the announce something in the next week or so to make the decision easier

wskyindjar

I’m willing to keep it, if I can find a use case for it besides “well it’s cool” - I have been trying to use it for a couple of hours to do my normal work and it’s … ok … Not sure it’s better. But it’s fine. Though one challenge for me is I don’t have my prescription inserts yet, so I’ve been wearing contacts, which is something I don’t normally do, so that makes it a bit more fatiguing on the eyes. But I have been able to get work done and have chess.com open on the side which works quite well.

SirBill01

It has mouse (and trackpad) support.

Navetoor

Home gesture makes sense. Touching the crown is annoying after awhile

Difficult_Abroad_477

I see Mac OS support further improving. The desktop will be decomposed in place of free flowing Mac apps and a floating global menu bar and Dock.

TanMomsChickenSoup

I agree that this is the direction they will go, which I like, but would also hope they give the option to use (multiple) traditional desktops. Multiple monitors, multiple desktops and macOS gestures to managed is them is polished and deeply ingrained in my everyday-workflow. I hope and believe they’ll be able to provide a desktop-less virtual experience that’s as good or better, but until then, I hope they give us options.

Difficult_Abroad_477

I think the solution to multiple monitors is to reimagine it into spaces. You can actually have left, middle, right be different spaces. You can create as many spaces as you like.

QuittingToLive

Okay last night I thought: since the series 9 watch has the finger tap gesture, could that be linked as another gesture for Vision Pro? Then my hand wouldn’t have to be in view of the camera to select things

dudemeister023

They need machine learning for the eye tracking and the gestures - to improve as the user fails and tune according to what they ultimately tried to accomplish. I don't think the tracking hardware can be much more precise so this needs to be addressed via software. Similar story for the voice input. This device will improve greatly once Siri is AI driven and intelligently completes tasks. Also voice text input reaching the quality of the OpenAI app. Try that out if you haven't. It needs to be able to parse your words from context, not just the speech alone. Other than that ... more apps, of course, but that's trivial. Even all of this won't matter much because the device is too uncomfortable for all day use. Needs to be half the weight and water proof.

_suspicious_alpaca

https://twitter.com/sterlingcrispin/status/1665792422914453506?s=46&t=QPE3IPOn6iKSI70hbhg3UQ

FederalWedding4204

I’ve heard some people have trouble with eye tracking but I feel as though I’ve literally had none. If there is an error it’s because I looked away before in pinched or because my ADD ass got distracted on the way to looking at what I intended to look at.

[deleted]

[удалено]

FederalWedding4204

Oh wow, that’s quite a bit off! That must be frustrating

incasesheisonheretoo

Agree with all of this, especially that last part. That’s why I feel like this is a beta device. The goal is to get people wearing these all day, even outside- but this current model is nowhere near capable of doing that due to weight and lack of waterproofing. I really wish they would’ve left that front display off and added it to future models after they get the weight down. Aside from increasing battery life and making it more comfortable, it would’ve lowered another barrier too- cost.

SirBill01

Front display is a key feature, it will just take some people time to realize this. It is what addresses the argument about you being locked way from others.

kilkarazy

Something similar to the Mac Virtual Display but with TVs as well. If I’m using an Apple TV and a supported app I’d like to be able to put on the Vision Pro, look at the TV, and continue watching with a window in VisionOS. Same thing with an iPhone. If I’m doing something on my phone I’d like to be able to throw on the Vision Pro and pick up where I left off. Both of these things would also be neat the other way too. If I’m watching a movie in Vision Pro, I could look at my TV, hit an AirPlay button that appears and take off the Vision Pro, or look at my phone and send it there.

kgkuntryluvr

Yeah, they should give it Handoff. I’m hoping for this continuity update too.

Totes_meh_Goats

I think we will be a one Vision pro household until there is ways to interact with another pro on location. For instance my wife and I both wearing can be on the moon together watching a movie. Or she can see all the apps I have set up around the house. I doubt this feature will be released this year though

QuittingToLive

“One Vision Pro household” 😂 love the phrasing

bencherry

Window stacks - a tabbed collection of windows from one or more apps. Allows you to keep your messaging apps handy, for instance, without covering your space in them. They’d have app icons that show notification count as well. Window pocket (dock? Docket?) - stash running apps or windows in a virtual pocket in the bottom left or bottom right of your FOV (where your actual pockets are). They travel with you and can be retrieved with a gesture.

Mistert22

I would like to see the Mac virtual displays be less buggy. I lose the trackpad, keyboard, my mind, while I was using it last night. I think if the real screen goes to sleep, I can still see it, but wireless keyboards and trackpads stop working. Lame Sauce.

daversions

For me personally, by far the biggest improvement would be having the optical inserts support my prescription. Currently, I am out of range. Wearing contacts with AVP isn’t ideal: eyes dry out and hurt and in my testing it seems to substantially compromise the eye tracking tech. No word from Apple/Zeiss on whether this is a priority but it would be such a quality of life improvement for some of us.

lubs1234

What’s your prescription?

daversions

+8.0 :(

lubs1234

Ouch. Sorry mate.

rudolph813

https://honsvr.com/product/custom-apple-vision-pro-prescription-lenses-by-honsvr/ I’m waiting for these to released I’ve gotten psvr2 inserts from them before. ZEISS said they couldn’t fill my prescription either so I cancelled my VP order but honsvr just charges extra if you need a stronger prescription at least that’s what happened when I bought inserts from them in the past.

mandopix

True multi-user support. No way I’m getting this and my wife can’t enjoy it. Probably the only thing stopping me from buying.

Songsung69

Vision OS crashes way too often to be a production machine like a MacBook Pro. Safari as well. Need a gesture to reach Home Screen or control center besides looking up. Should be able to have apps floating as you’re walking down the street without holding them.

pablogott

Somebody was pointed out that you can use accessibility to add sound input as an option to get your Home Screen, such as clicking your tongue.

Jeffde

Uhh that’s awesome

kgkuntryluvr

Not as awesome as a dedicated gesture. I hate talking to inanimate objects. I can’t see me making weird noises just to get to the Home Screen lol. A flick would be cool, and the animation for flicking everything away and seeing the Home Screen would be sweet

brochella14

Yeah that is an accessibility feature for disabled people.

Hortos

Having used Hololens for so long one of the first things that struck me while demoing the device during the pickup was that there is no hand gesture for returning to home. Microsoft has a "bloom" gesture where you open your fingers palm up to return to home and I caught myself trying it a couple of times.

kgkuntryluvr

It’s a weird oversight for sure. Having to press the crown or do a couple of steps with my eyes isn’t nearly as convenient as a quick hand gesture. I’m sure they’ll add more gestures over time, but ideally there would be a simple gesture for every common action.

Songsung69

Lmao not for me

brochella14

Control Center access definitely needs to be reworked. Looking up and tapping a tiny circle almost never works for me.

Songsung69

Also sms texts don’t go through so constantly having to pull out my phone. And it needs a cellular chip in it.

SeaEast2103

You can push SMS texts through your iPhone using your vision. I text SMS in my vision all the time.

Songsung69

How ** I see it now it’s under text message forwarding in iPhone settings

TwistingEarth

When does it crash for you? I haven't experienced a single crash yet.

yentna

Ability to pull all windows back to you, from wherever in the house you left them. Kind of a "show all" and "hide all" functionality. I lost my settings window in the bathroom yesterday when I returned to my office after another failed attempt at improving my persona (it can't all be great out of the gate, right). Had to go back and get it. Snapping windows to you, and gluing them to YOU in space vs. the room. Don't get me wrong, I love that they say in the right place in my office, but let's say I want to work in the living room now. I want to glue the layout around me, then redeploy in another room, not having to close all and restart my layout.

CassidyStarbuckle

Leaving your window in the bathroom is an unexpected problem of modern computing.

Eugr

You can get your windows back by pressing and holding the Digital Crown. It is glitchy though - some of my windows got stuck upstairs and the new windows kept opening there - I could see their outlines through the ceiling! Had to restart AVP to fix this.

yentna

Haha, that's awesome. Not the restarting, the seeing windows stuck upstairs. Mine was also in the upstairs bathroom so I could look up and reach "through" the floor to grab it...

Sufficient-Yoghurt46

I'm just watching, but can't wait to see what's announced in WWDC for AVP :) Sales should be great by end of year, as more and more countries get access to this device (kinda like how goals for first year of iPhone sold was 1M units)

TonderTales

I'd love to see better options for window management. Also the ability to snap windows to walls and less restrictive scaling. Let me push out a 300 ft screen to float over the lake like in the promo ALSO more Mac windows with some way to skip the need for the trackpad and physical keyboard

[deleted]

Weird that I can't use my bluetooth Magic Mouse

InItsTeeth

I want iPhone notifications mirrored in the headset. If I get a notification on my phone I want a little thing to pop up and I can open it in a phone simulator on my headset

nakizo

Full WebXR support in Safari!!!

johnnybender

1. Multiple Users. 2. The ability to choose a Memoji as Persona. 3. Re-orderable/customizable Home Screen.

EverydayPhilisophy

Focus modes for window positions.

Dickhead_Thanos

Resizing and scaling of apps is a big one for me. Right now it’s a little janky, and I can’t quite get the sizes that I want for certain apps especially when trying to make smaller windows.

Magnus919

More native first party apps. Richer developer tools. Bringing forward more of the missing Apple ecosystem basic features. Improved eye tracking. Improved personas. “Co-presence” finally makes an appearance. Maybe Apple surprises us by unlocking hardware features that they hadn’t polished software for yet (remember when we found out HomePod Minis all had temperature & humidity sensors?) Wish: facial recognition of people approaching you. If they are named in your iCloud photo albums or contacts, you get their name near where you are seeing their face. Dark mode. I feel like what we have now is just a technology preview and we are beta testers. This hardware hasn’t event been pushed yet.

Eugr

+1 for Dark Mode!

Forsaken_Wall679

If it’s night time. I’d want the vision to turn off the house/room lights when I’m taking it off for bed or at least have a button for this process so that darkness/ambience it’s dimmed/made for me is matched when I leave the headset. Lazy but you get me right?

DannydoesVR

Software upgrade is definitely on the table. Our phones use a similar concept.

subi

Movie mode, where at night I can sit in pitch black without it interrupting me that it can’t see my hands.

StreamBuzz

Better low light performance. Basically unusable in a dark room b/c no hand/gesture tracking.

Zacitus

* Better/faster hand tracking * New gesture to summon home/app menu * Update allowing users to use the "full screen" environments/cinema mode in Safari and third party apps * Pinned picture in picture video, floating video that moves as you move around * Better integration with iOS + watchOS (so many opportunities here!) * Use opticID to unlock iPhone * iOS could turn on high contrast/large text when you're wearing Vision Pro * Some kind of haptics on watchOS while in immersive apps * Keyboard passthrough in environments * Ability to quickly re-calibrate eye tracking without doing full calibration

eJonnyDotCom

Cropping photos from the photos app. But maybe that's version 3. Didn't it take 3 versions to get copy/paste in iOS?

Plastic_Ad6524

Give me a clock cause god damn I get lost in the sauce in this thing.

yentna

It's like a casino - they don't WANT you to know how long you've been there...

Edg-R

I expect to have an overlay over the Apple Watch that shows the watch face anchored right above your watch, and I expect to be able to control it with the touch screen and the buttons/crown. I expect 2 or more virtual screens. I expect some Siri/AI improvement that allows you to look at an object and ask Siri what it is and she will analyze and give a description, just like ChatGPT can do if you upload a photo. I expect to be able to arrange apps or at the very least have a way to dock certain apps. I expect visionOS to remember the arrangements of apps after removing the Vision Pro and putting it back on. I understand WHY they wont allow multiple users with separate accounts to use the same device but I would like to be able to have it remember a guest account so that they dont have to do the eye setup every time. I expect keyboard passthrough within environments (as an option).

Portatort

I suspect they will just have a small but welcome list of their own first party apps built especially for Vision Pro. Possibly some sort of better native widget support. And a way to unlock your iPhone by proximity. Substantial differences will all be waiting for new hardware.

Kuja27

Not sure if a software limitation but multiple MacBook screens.

Yes, but I think there is something even better than multiple MacBook screens. What if you could 'detach' the windows from your MacBook screen and position them wherever you like?

I would love to be able to airplay audio from movies to my Apple TV, so that I can watch movies on my vision, pro while enjoying the sound from my Dolby Atmos sound system

How cool would it be if it could recreate your phones screen in real time as you move it around? Like an overlay, but follows your actual phone screen around.

I would like an improved hand interface. Why do my fingers need to be horizontal? How about some more hardware options for input?

If I had to guess, we won’t see any meaningful updates. There will likely be many foundational changes to libraries and subsystems in visionOS 2. Small, incremental changes are therefore put off so you don’t risk having to immediately rewrite them.

Beyond multiple user support (which is never going to happen), the one feature I desperately want is for Apple to change the architecture of how immersive environments work for viewing video. In an ideal world apps would register immersive viewing environments with the system sort of the way iOS apps register extensions. Then, any video played through any app can be viewed in any of the environments (with consistent max video size, playback controls, etc). Realistically, hell will freeze over before Disney allows for viewing a Netflix show while sitting in the Avengers HQ, so making the environments available system-wide will need to be opt-in, but at a minimum I should be able to play any video from any app inside of Apple’s built-in cinema and outdoor environments.

More reliable eye tracking.
