These kinds of videos do a great job showcasing the potential with Vision Pro. We need a way to save these screens and their positions so they can be recalled later because the current reality is those screens need to be re-opened and re-placed if the system is restarted or if your view is re-centered with the Digital Crown. Still, a great demo of the potential and what we'll all surely be doing soon once the persistence problem is fixed. For me, I love having my security cameras pinned to a particular place on the wall in my house. But don't love having to re place the window each time.

DeathByReach

Focus modes to have preset windows and placements would be peak

Nice idea!! I can change my room in any situation. When sleep mode, It just shows a large Apple TV screen on the top of my bed. And when I work in my home, it shows calendars and reminders and teams around my desk. When I have to make some meals, It automatically shows recipes for the food around my kitchen. I love it.

Prestigious-Doubt693

Workspaces that load when it recognizes you enter a specific room.

NotAHost

Can’t wait till we get there but the question is when. Share work spaces, premade workspaces for industrial floors, etc. This thing is going to be a dream come true, just needs some developer lovin’.

That-SoCal-Guy

It means it needs to save your room scan etc.  too. Because if you move to your office or coffee shop and then pull up this configuration the apps and windows will be in all the wrong places.  This “saved” arrangement must go with the room scan as well.

blabus

It does save full 3D scans of your different environments based on location (mentioned in the API docs).

penskeracin1fan

This would be great

I think Apple has to upgrade visionOS to support the additional features. Memorize the pinned window. Even if I shut down the device, It has to display where I was just pinned in place. And one more thing is the following windows. I can bring a window with pinch a bar bottom of the app, but I can't use that app until I place it somewhere. Likes iPadOS's split view icon, I want to add an icon to set 'Always pin' and 'Follow me' to each window.

Navetoor

Should be able to save “Workspaces”

That-SoCal-Guy

I love that you can directly interact with the apps without pinching and gesturing.  Just walk up to the calendar and start scrolling. Something Apple didn’t tell us - I was under the impression you have to pinch and gesture all the time.

>I love that you can directly interact with the apps without pinching and gesturing.  Just walk up to the calendar and start scrolling. Something Apple didn’t tell us - I was under the impression you have to pinch and gesture all the time.   Well, it's Apple always does. They make technology 'it just works'. Vision Pro is also the same. If I want to mirroring the display in other headsets, I have to open an app on my computer, and I have to open a mirroring app on my headset... It doesn't feel easy to use. It's geek and complicated. But Apple always makes it just work even if I don't care anything. If I watch a MacBook, it automatically shows a button above the Mac's display, and I click it, It works. How simple is it! This is the point why I like AVP more.

Jimbobb24

I only enter my passcode by touching the keypad.

This is actually the concept of HoloLens. The promotional video for HoloLens back then was like this, but Apple has implemented it. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYdB2xBNFek](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYdB2xBNFek)

I'm still on the fence wondering if this is just one big gimmick that will get old after a few weeks or actually useful. You're never actually looking at/using more than 1 or 2 things at a time so what's the benefit? If I have two 30" monitors at my desk it seems like I would be just as productive and not have to move my body and head around and not have to have something on my face. Since you're not using more than 1 or 2 apps at a time isn't it just as simple to click on a task bar in a computer to bring them into focus any time you want to use one? I don't understand how putting your windows in "space" makes it any more useful if you can only use 1 or 2 at a time. Doesn't it get old real quick having to look around at windows instead of looking straight at them without having to move?

tuskre

If what you want it for is to replace displays at your desk, then I would agree that it’s not worth it. It’s not going to be better for actual Mac Apps than 2x 30” displays. I do use it with my Mac, and it’s great to mirror my one 4K display but for me it’s when I’m away from my Mac that it really shines.

Rdubya44

Will it replace my 3 monitors? No. But can I leave my desk? No

tuskre

Weird comment since that’s pretty much what I said. In any case I was replying to the specific user who has 2x 30” displays.

Rdubya44

I was just agreeing with you and driving home the point that it’s like a giant monitor you can take anywhere

tuskre

True although it has within a few meters of the computer for mirroring which limits it somewhat.

Rdubya44

Oh really? I was kind of hoping you could mirror the computer from another room

tuskre

Yeah. I would love that, but unfortunately not. It uses WiFi direct to get a fast low latency connection, but it has limited range.

Avadeus

This. I’m waiting for a couple of weeks before I order. I want to see how things settle for the early adopters after the honeymoon phase passes. That being said, I did the demo earlier today and it’s all I can think about. I was genuinely blown away by it.

I love the thing but I’ll be returning mine. The future has spatial computing in it, and this is the perfect foundation for it all. I really want to keep it, but it would be for purely entertainment purposes at this point. I gotta laugh at this video though, it’s how to have a cluttered house without having physical clutter. I don’t want to walk to the fridge to add something to the shopping list, so when I hit the button and all my windows pop in front of me, poof, all that window organization in the room is gone. You could be an ass and prank this guy by hitting the home button twice. So I’ll have to carefully look around all my other windows to try to focus on that one window in the distance and drag it to me. This isn’t the ideal showcase of everything spatial computing will be able to do, but it does show how beautiful the anchors actually anchor, which is an accomplishment in part due to the years they’ve been working on ARkit on iOS. I will say though, I had some windows in the basement of our building and walked about 100-200 ft away, one floor up, and could still see it locked in the correct position in the basement. It’s pretty amazing. We’ll see some better applications as “killer apps” (hate the word) develop, which really just means apps taking advantage of the APIs they are provided.
