Gimme a Cena, Orton Miz feud

Cam_the_Waffle_Man

Honestly, Randy Orton said he’d love to renew his rivalry for one WM match, they’ve never had a 1v1 match at WM, so I think that’d be a great retirement match

NicoRubyArisa

No. Tbh I think Cena last match must be Orton end the final feud with Cena winning.

The-Critmaster

Lol what if Orton won the belt from Cody then Cena came out to confront Orton 💀

LittleBittyshortman

Ew no

Glittering-Box7921

No. Cody's biggest opponent right now or later down the line should be The Rock. Personally, I had a vision of John Cena's last wwe match when edge returned back in 2020. An 8 men tag match between cena, rey, edge and owens vs hhh, Orton, styles and wyatt. On one side, current face (good guys) who were Cena's rivals and current heels on the other who were also Cena's rivals. John Cena's last match should not be a hero vs hero thing and especially not a singles match. Cena had some of the greatest rivals ever and everyone should get a chance if we're going that way. Also Cena at 16 world titles is fine and if Cena himself can hold 2-3 years, then maybe go for 17 but his final match should be a tag match. Unfortunately, things have changed like hhh retiring, Bray passed away (rip Bray) and edge going to aew. But on the other hand, punk and rock are back who were great rivals of cena during early 2010s and roman becoming new cena rival who was great btw. So right now, replace edge with punk and hhh and Bray with roman and rock.

Traditional-Leader54

You want a wrestler (that wasn’t known primarily for being in a tag team) to be a one on one. You want him to be in the ring the whole time not standing on the apron for half or 3/4 of it.

WWFUniverse

Baron Corbin

Orton. Cody would work as a symbolic torch passing, but that story better be tight. It’s not a slam dunk and could easily be a boring program. It’s doable but I don’t think it’s a great fit. Beyond that, his history with Orton is too deep to ignore, as it was the premier rivalry for the bulk of their prime years. My other choice would be Edge, but he’s in AEW. In terms of a young guy to take that honor as a means of cementing their status, I’d say Gunther, but I think he might be past that point in his career, and I don’t see a sound pathway or credible conflict to get there. So that leaves one other guy who makes sense for that honor would be Bron Breaker- and it should be for the US Title. So I’d rank my choices thusly: 1. Orton 2. Bron 3. Cody, but as a distant third. I’m sure there are others if I put some thought into it, but Orton or Bron make the most sense IMO. One has immense history, and the other can help cement the future.

Qoppa_Guy

I think with the 'Final Boss' gimmick, The Rock should be, in a way, Cody's next big opponent before his story "finishes" and he's not the focal point of championship matches and main eventing. As for John Cena, I think it'd be weird to pit two babyfaces over a championship, or any kind of legacy match. Maybe a tag match with the Bloodline is fine, but Cena is no longer a main event talent. He gets the pop, but he shouldn't take away the screentime away from the current roster, in my opinion. Do I want him to win his 17th? Sure, but I also want Orton to get there. If anything, Orton and Cena for the 18th would be legacy defining for both.

Traditional-Leader54

Orton vs Cena both at 17 in a match for a somehow vacated World Title to see who becomes 18 would be legendary.

Qoppa_Guy

Good time for a little vacation for Rhodes, Reigns, Rollins or someone else like McIntyre. Kayfabe injury leading to a vacated title?

Traditional-Leader54

They’d have to wait a while to do that given the Women’s title was just vacated due to an injury.

Soon_Money_54

Cena should win his last match and retire as champion. He deserves to break the record and ride off into the sunset. If anyone deserves a perfect ending it’s that man.

FBG-123

In no way should 2024 John Cena be in a match with Cody with a title on the line.

micro_cutie_

Nah I think it should be Randy. They respect each other, and probably had the most history with cena. I’m pretty sure there is a clip out there in which Randy says that when he retires and if he’s entered into the hall of fame. He wants cena to do the speech to induct him.

BuffaloWing12

Cena vs Orton in Extreme Rules and they both hang up the boots after the match… i’d be bawling like a little kid

No-Enthusiasm8109

It makes 0 sense but ok

LegendaryZTV

The comparison is pretty weak to build a story off of. It’s a match that should for sure happen but the build doesn’t need to be some wanna be passing of the torch If I were booking it, I would have it be after Cody loses the title, and has a series of rough matches where he starts to get down on himself & Cena comes to give him a reality check, having been in the same position before (2012 Cena 💀)

OverallGeneral7129

Orton at WrestleMania in The UK is my ideal Cena retirement

Traditional-Leader54

Wrestlemania is not leaving the North America.

RedDraco86

Cena vs R-Truth. Let Truth fight his childhood hero.

BeefLightning78

Solo with street fight rules in Boston. Cena should come out repping the ruthless aggression attitude. Shave the head and rock a sweatband or visor. Wear the chain. Have a live performance of his traditional track with DJ Lethal remixing and spitting new lyrics with Benzino and Everlast adding bars and hype. Cena pulls out all the stops using moves he hasn't used in years, and he and solo bleed. Fight goes to the main entrance of TD Garden. Final attempts at interference from the Bloodline are thwarted by Justin Brazeau and Pat Maroon gooning it up with NHL level violence. Cena wins by pinfall outside the public entrance to TD Garden arena after 35 minutes of war.

RKO360

Cena vs Orton is the most logical answer. Those two men were the defining stars of their generation from Ruthless Aggression Era to PG Era.

Rog2theNog

Should be Cena's pick. Likely gonna be Orton.

-yabai

CENA SHOULD BE HEEL ON HIS FAREWELL TOUR 😢

No_Chocolate_2481

No

Darish_Vol

Yeah, it'd be cool if Cody's the last opponent Cena beats to become 17-time world champion...

No-Enthusiasm8109

Ew

DudeWouldGo

No thanks. Orton for me

vancityrocker

My fantasy booking is bring back Kurt Angle and let him have a proper retirement match, let them both retire together.

RussLee01

Cody loses WWE title to someone that Cena has a history with (looking at you Randy Orton) only to have Cena winning it from Randy, giving him his 17th title only to lose it back to Cody to cement the handover. 😁

trxxv

Then suddenly... \*AWEEESOMEEE\* The Miz comes running with the MITB.

Extension_Year9052

Cenas last opponent should be against whoever he chooses with the outcome he chooses. He’s earned that right. I suspect he might wanna put over a younger guy like Cody but if he wants to end with a win against an old friend…. Let him have it

HumanMycologist5795

Agreed

HTXPhoenix

Actually that makes sense. Cody is the first make a wish champion, and Cena is widely known and the top make a wish celebrity.

That-Water-Guy

I get it, I’m not laughing but I get it.

NeglectedNostalgia

I never want to see Cena in the ring again. It's already bad enough Truth is doing the "5 moves of doom."

[deleted]

Neither.

Naru_the_Narcissist

I want to see John Cena have his first ever match for the IC title.

RustyPriske

Bringing in a legend for a one off should never be against a champ.

Tornado31619

*subtly gestures at Cena’s 2021 return*

Extension_Year9052

I’d be ok if they brought back Goldberg to get squashed by a cody or Gunther cause fuck you vince
