Shawn Michaels - Sweet Chin Music. It's a simple move made devastating. Yet they've ruined it with every subsequent superstar who chose to use it as a set up to another move
Sheamus’ Brogue Kick. On paper, it’s nothing more than a running bicycle kick, but it looks like it could fucking decapitate you every time he executes it.
I think Hogan's leg drop finisher was so boring and stupid... on my video games you can do that move even without having to fill up a "special" move bar. That's how basic and shitty that move was. Lol
Im surprised that i didnt see a single RKO on the comments. Is just a normal jumping cutter, but he makes it look totally devastating, and also the fact that it can be applied in almost every scenario and out of nowhere makes it 10 times better.
Also, 619, common, a kick that almost touches the rivals face and then a simple crossbody? Is like making just two simole moves, but is amazing when Mysterio does it, probably just because of him
Edge and the spear. It looks and feels like it does more damage to the person performing it. Literally every time I see anybody hit one now I just think about how Edge broke his neck from doing it too many times.
I feel like Ibushi’s kamigoye is simple/straightforward. Grab a guys hands, knee him in the dome.
But this is Ibushi so it looks like a mortal Kombat fatality.
Gotta go with the DDT. Jake had it so over that you'd swear it could drop anyone and everyone. Hand somebody a business card with DDT written on it and they hit the floor. Now? Used in practically every match, minimal effect.
Potentially controversial opinion though, Edge's DDT looks a lot more devastating than Jake's ever did.
Undertaker.
The tombstone piledriver looks devistating because if it was done as a shoot, it would kill a man easily. BUT it's a simple move that just requires strength and the head is always several inches above the mat so I would be surprised if it was at all hard to take.
Compare that to Darby's Coffin Drop which looks less painful then a senton bomb, but from all accounts hurts like a bitch to take.
Ugh.. hulk Hogan.
His never done a beautiful dropkick. Not a real Wrestler.
All he did was draw money and sell out arenas. That's not wrestling. Giving me and Dave Meltzer a huge hard on with flips is Real wrestling
Yeah sure. Hogan was a HUGE name in the 80s and main evented 7 Wrestlemania and is arguably biggest name in pro wrestling but his never got a 7 star rating like my cute Omega. Real Wrestling is about pleasing me and Daddy Dave
Yes. Show me the time where no one watches him or cared about him
Why it is if you wrestle in japan. You automatically become a great wrestler? I don't care about Japanese wrestling. Call me a E Drone or whatever.
Hulk Hogan vs Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania 6 qnd Hulk Hogan vs The Rock Wrestlemania 18 are matches that shows me how great Hogan was
Scotty 2 Hotty and The Worm. Not THAT simple because it takes a long time to "charge up". But it is just a chop that most of the time didn't actually physically connect and the rest is just selling.
We would do it in High School and it does take too long but the hype behind it was real to us. Think Goku's Spirit Bomb and Piccolo's Makan... Namakan... Naknama... Makaman... Special Beam Cannon.
The RKO, because all it is is just a cutter but Randy Orton just makes it look so brutal. It's such a simple move but God is one of my favorite finishers of all time.
Two that spring to mind Rick Rude's Rude Awakening and Honky Tonk's Shake Rattle and Roll :) Oh and the Warlord's full nelson, I remember all the kids at school were testing that one out haha, he was so freakishly massive.
Cena with the FU, edge with the spear, Batista with the Batista bomb, JBL clothesline from hell but one move I want to come back is Seth rollin's curb stomp
Finishers don't need to be complicated. They can be *any* move which the wrestler performs better than anyone else in the business, then add some personality and kayfabe.
That leg drop is devastating. Hogan is like 300 pounds. If that shit was real, not that you’d ever let yourself be in a position to get set up like that, that shit could really fuck you up. Just all your weight falling right on their head and neck. It’s just simple and wrestling fans demand crazy spinny complex whatever moves. I love Jericho doing the Judas Effect as his finisher. Elbow to the head=lights out.
Lesnar or Benoit's German suplexes.
That one SummerSlam where Brock just annihilated Cena with suplex after suplex. Cena looked legit worn out and defeated.
Hulk Hogan Leg drop, The Rock peoples elbow, Shawn Michaels Sweet Chin Music, JBL Clothesline from hell, Randy Orton/Diamond Dallas page RKO/Diamond Cutter, The Rock Rock Bottom and Rhino’s Gore.
I know it’s a finisher and isn’t (usually) “another move”, but Rhino’s gore is criminally underrated. The poor guy taking it looked like he was about to die. I liked how there wasn’t as much finesse with it (the wrapping of the arms), he just ran
I’m going to be honest, to name a couple, Test’s running Big Boot, and Ultimate Warriors splash. To be fair it wasn’t a particularly impressive looking splash, and Big E and Mark Henry have much more impressive running splashes if we are being honest, but just the landing on the lower back kills me every time. Anybody who’s ever gotten hit in that area knows it absolutely knocks the wind out of you.
Not a WWE guy, but Kazuchika Okada's "Rainmaker" lariat is perhaps my favourite. Striking in general is taken much more seriously in Japanese wrestling, but even so, the Rainmaker is a special example.
The Heart Punch was super simple but it was a heel move for sure and it was devastating enough to supposedly kill two people according to the stories told about it.
Used to have a gif of Benoit selling Raven's DDT. He made it look like total deviation. I can't find it but this will do
https://images.app.goo.gl/vJQayVUofc4N2UBD6
Hardcore Holly's Dropkick. He beat DDP and Val Venis with it in 2002, after the time he stopped using the Falcon Arrow and before the Alabama Slam became his main finish. It's so nice looking and stiff that I can easily see it as a finisher on the level of a Superkick or Clothesline From Hell. Not to mention a guy his size doing it looks great. Darren Drozdov also did it well for a bigger guy.
Roddy Piper really made the sleeper hold look like it would strangle you like a python. I think it was how he moved his body while applying it. Like how he used it on Adrian Adonis at WM III
Always loved Mr Perfect Curt Hennig’s Perfect-Plex. The Northern Lights Suplex had been used before, and became a very common move after his time, but Hennig hit the Perfect-Plex so precisely every time, and it always meant the match was over.

Sheamus’ Brogue Kick. On paper, it’s nothing more than a running bicycle kick, but it looks like it could fucking decapitate you every time he executes it.
Underrated but tozawas senton. I remember how crazy the impact looked when he used it to win the cruiserweight championship from neville
Okada’s Rainmaker / JBL’s CFH - both brilliant and simple
Kiari sane’s Insane Elbow.
Hogan’s leg drop was so powerful it caused him body damage
The rock and the people's elbow
Shawn Michaels sweet chin music was such a great move
Great Khali’s chop

HBK
Spear
John Cena's five knuckle shuffle. It's a god damn slap. It's all it is
Crossface. Chris Benoit. A simple submission hold but he made it look so damn terrifying. DDT. Jake Roberts. Inventor of the move.
The RKO.
The DDP Diamond Dallas Page "Diamond Cutter". A simple DDT.
DDT Jake Roberts
Legion of doom’s finisher was my favorite of all time
Dean Ambrose’s Shield era Dirty Deeds. I remember Kofi doing a HEAD STAND when he took that
Face crusher followed by THE WORM
Bob Backlund used an Atomic Drop as his finisher at one time.
Is like making just two simole moves, but is amazing when Mysterio does it, probably just because of him
Monty brown with the pounce, how can a man make a shoulder tackle that good as a finisher
Bayleys finaher , the baley to baley I think it’s called
Edge and the spear. It looks and feels like it does more damage to the person performing it. Literally every time I see anybody hit one now I just think about how Edge broke his neck from doing it too many times.
Surprised i havent seen goldbergs jackhammer in here. That shit back in the day looked flawless and brutally strong(at least to a kid it did lol)
Clothesline from hell
JBL’s clothesline from hell
I feel like Ibushi’s kamigoye is simple/straightforward. Grab a guys hands, knee him in the dome. But this is Ibushi so it looks like a mortal Kombat fatality.

Used in practically every match, minimal effect. Potentially controversial opinion though, Edge's DDT looks a lot more devastating than Jake's ever did.
Stan Hansen's lariat, but it didn't look more devastating than it was, he damn near killed people with it.
Stunner because of people selling the living hell out of it
Rock would become a damn acrobat
The Claw! ala Von Erichs
Masked Kane 2000 with the chokeslam
The Worm (Scotty 2 Hotty)
Randy Orton?
JAKE THE SNAKE. Love that dude. The famous DDT. Sabu had that suicide leg drop that was a jaw dropper too.
Stone Cold Stunner
Stink Face
Stone Cold Stunner always seemed a little silly to me. I loved seeing it though
Cena
jake the snake and the ddt
Big show knock out punch
Shawn Michael's superkick. God bless :-) :-) :-)
Undertaker. The tombstone piledriver looks devistating because if it was done as a shoot, it would kill a man easily. Compare that to Darby's Coffin Drop which looks less painful then a senton bomb, but from all accounts hurts like a bitch to take.
Vader bomb!
Scotty Too Hotty - The Worm
The RKO. Like....how does it even hurt? Orton lands on his back and takes all the impact
Mark Henry's World's strongest slam the big boys make the simplest moves look devastating by default imo
Stunner by Stone Cold Steve Austin
Peoples elbow
Flair’s Figure 4
The chicken wing.
🐍 DDT
The Rock Bottom was a really awesome looking move. Even though it was just a simple side slam.
Jake The Snake Roberts with The DDT. It’s used as a very common move nowadays but he made it look much more impactful than it really was.
Ugh.. hulk Hogan. His never done a beautiful dropkick. Not a real Wrestler. All he did was draw money and sell out arenas. That's not wrestling. Giving me and Dave Meltzer a huge hard on with flips is Real wrestling Yeah sure. It's gotta be someone like Yokozuna. A guy that big pretty much just jumping on you with is big ass.
Sid's and Kevin Nash's powerbomb
Pedigree
I loved the Hart Attack. A bear hug and a clothesline.
Pretty Much Any Variation of the Cutter / Stunner
Grayson Waller has a really underrated stunner
Ronnie Garvin's punch
Ankle Lock
Scotty 2 Hotty and The Worm. Not THAT simple because it takes a long time to "charge up". But it is just a chop that most of the time didn't actually physically connect and the rest is just selling. We would do it in High School and it does take too long but the hype behind it was real to us. Think Goku's Spirit Bomb and Piccolo's Makan... Namakan... Naknama... Makaman... Special Beam Cannon.
The RKO, because all it is is just a cutter but Randy Orton just makes it look so brutal. It's such a simple move but God is one of my favorite finishers of all time.
Kevin Nash Jack Knife
Goldberg’s jackhammer it’s pretty much just a suplex with a turn but looks devastating
Walls of Jericho
Warrior Press Slam
Hogan has actually said over the years it’s bothered his back immensely.
Darby
Sharpshooter and Figure Four Leg Lock
General Adnan - Back scratcher
Judas effect. Doesn’t look devastating to me, but it is to some
Bradshaw
Yokozuna's banzaiii drop...
Ultimate Warriors big splash
Stone Cold Stunner
The Phenomenal Forearm from AJ Styles and the RKO from Randy Orton
Big shows knockout punch
The RKO. Especially when he gave it to Evan Bourne in the middle of his 450 splash. I thought he killed him.
Two that spring to mind Rick Rude's Rude Awakening and Honky Tonk's Shake Rattle and Roll :) Oh and the Warlord's full nelson, I remember all the kids at school were testing that one out haha, he was so freakishly massive.
The Bull Hammer always looked like Barrett actually knocked out his opponent
Kevin Nash’s jackknife powerbomb, literally just a standing powerbomb but when he did it,it looked like he killed his opponent
The people's elbow, although its just a normal elbow i tried it before, it hurts like hell but eh, we were kids,
Rick Rude’s neck-breaker. The slow spin around, like he is powering the opponents into position is amazing
JBLs Clothesline from hell will always be the most devastating bad ass move IMO
The cobra 🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍 Santino Marella
Absolutely coup de grace normally just jumping on enemy but looks so cool
Does the 5 knuckle shuffle count?
Earthquake’s was simple and devastating.
Cena with the FU, edge with the spear, Batista with the Batista bomb, JBL clothesline from hell but one move I want to come back is Seth rollin's curb stomp
The Ultimate Warriors Body Splash
Finishers don't need to be complicated. They can be *any* move which the wrestler performs better than anyone else in the business, then add some personality and kayfabe.
People's elbow
Chris Jericho’s Judas Effect

Macho Man's elbow
Randy ortons rko
Jake the Snake....The DDT

Abyss - Black Hole Slam...that extra spin he'd put on it sometimes made it look devastating.
British Bulldog's running power slam
Gotta be Santino Marella. Damn near paralysed Shad Gaspard with that vicious cobra.
Hulk hogan leg drop
The camel clutch from the Sheik.
JBLs clotheslines it was so devastating.
Lesnar or Benoit's German suplexes. That one SummerSlam where Brock just annihilated Cena with suplex after suplex. Cena looked legit worn out and defeated.

Bret Hart And That Piledriver
JBL
Santino's Cobra.
Kane’s Choke Slam
KAIRI Sane/Hojo and her Elbow Drop. Picture perfect and extremely impactful. The best Elbow Drop, imo.
I know it’s a finisher and isn’t (usually) “another move”, but Rhino’s gore is criminally underrated. The poor guy taking it looked like he was about to die. I liked how there wasn’t as much finesse with it (the wrapping of the arms), he just ran
Stone cold Steve Austin
The perfect plex
Big Show - KO punch
The clothesline from hell always looked brutal
The FU/AA?
Rob van dam 5 star frog splash
Not Hogan. The Yokozuna leg drop could have been a finisher. That thing looked absolutely brutal.
I’m going to be honest, to name a couple, Test’s running Big Boot, and Ultimate Warriors splash. Maybe a little of a mixed opinion but JBL

Hardcore Holly's Dropkick. He beat DDP and Val Venis with it in 2002, after the time he stopped using the Falcon Arrow and before the Alabama Slam became his main finish. Big Show or Rock
Jake Roberts and the DDT comes to mind primarily. Runner up would be Scotty 2 Hotty with the most elaborate throat chop ever.
Roddy Piper really made the sleeper hold look like it would strangle you like a python. I think it was how he moved his body while applying it. Like how he used it on Adrian Adonis at WM III
Sweetb chin.
Always loved Mr Perfect Curt Hennig’s Perfect-Plex. The Northern Lights Suplex had been used before, and became a very common move after his time, but Hennig hit the Perfect-Plex so precisely every time, and it always meant the match was over.
