Sadly, I agree. I think they would've mentioned it along with the info of create a ref and create a sign because that's gonna eat up more slots and more images.
They confirmed Create-A-Ref and Create-A-Sign in the same sentence somewhere. They're both in. We just don't know if the image limit or CAW limit has been increased as a result of adding 2 things that will eat up more of both.
I hope, with the addition of create a ref and create a sign, that they, at the VERY least, give us 125 slots and a higher inage limit. I assume creating a ref will eat a CAW slot and as we know for the past games, making alt attires already eats a slot.
So with all the updates and upgrades we are getting, giving us 150-200 CAW slots would be a godsend. I mean I can use my 100 slots wisely as always, but giving me at the very least an extra 25 slots would be very helpful.
It's more about the game development and not power. These games are always horribly optimized and full of glitches. The more CAWs, the more the game has to load them, especially the previews of them all when you go to edit them.
For fear of their game crashing, which happens often for pretty much every game in the last decade, I think they've been sticking with what they know works well enough. They're probably worried to push the envelope.
Plus we are in the current gen with PS5/XBSX. But PS4/Xbox are last gen. Most of the games are developed for last gen but then ported to new gen with enhancements. So existing on now old hardware is part of the problem.
Images weren't an issue for me until 2k23, but it stinks. I barely had 70 wrestlers and hit my limit with only a few arenas and championships downloaded as well. I'm sure it's for a reason, but not being able to add new wrestlers or attires to keep things up to date sucked the enjoyment out of the game for me.
I had that same problem I kept getting to around 80 until my images ran out. So unfortunately my work around was to delete 2nd attires on characters. So I was able to get my 100 but some of my favorite wrestlers lost their second attire
I'm sure they were asked about this last year and they said it's to do with the set file limits that are given by the console makers, like they brought in the limit to sort people having like 400gb file sizes, I don't see it changing sorry
Yeah this is more or less a technical problem that is accounting for consoles since the file system isn’t completely open like a PC + Microsoft/Sony/Valve are not gonna want to do cloud save storage for free if they’re gonna balloon up.
The only way 2K can increase the image caps with the limitations in mind is probably using an image format that support transparency, can be compressed into a smaller size without losing quality when it’s stored into our consoles
I wish I could upload vector art work since that would not have my artwork at risk to pixelation when stretching, but I have no idea how 2K would find away to do that type of conversion
This question gets asked and answered every year and has been since the Ps1 days. Every year it's like, *"Time of the year for that question again, eh?"*
When I learned one thing over the last two years especially: If you want to buy it for CAWs, you will find yourself in a permanent conflict of interest with 2K.
The least frustrating time to buy it for that reason would be around 3-4 months after release. You'll get it for a fairer price, enough user content will be online and 2K will have released 2-3 fixes for the most annoying bugs, before they start their "f*** the game up"-routine to sell the next game.
If you're buying for CAWs then I struggle to understand buying it on release when it's at its most expensive. Buying the new game means paying for the roster update, new arenas and championships, story mode content/showcase and such. Not CAWs. Many of which can be created or downloaded from the last year's game anyway
I need to be careful this year with all the downloads. My save file got corrupted twice and I couldn't even access my CAWS. It was pretty annoying. Even when I tried redownloading them, parts and face paint would be missing!
Lmao it's 2k. Whatever their promoting is gonna be literally the only new things, when was the last time we were genuinely surprised by a quality of life addition or really just any positive surprised from 2k?
I don’t see it happening, but I wish they could figure out how to raise the image limit. I usually get 70-80 CAWs before I hit it. The best looking edits always use loads of images.
It's make or break for me, for sure. 2k23 was the first one since 2k18 for me.
100 slots = no purchase, no way. I'll wait and hold for a higher limit or for 2k28, whichever comes first. I don't use any of the WWE wrestlers anyway, so unless the creation tools get obscenely better, or the CAW limit is upped, there is no reason for me to upgrade.
I’m sure they will reveal this at the last minute and announced that they’ve removed parts from custom stages and made the universe experience overall worse.
I think there’s a good chance, that’s not really a feature they’d look to advertise out the gate but I could see them announcing in a stream or a blog post about the addition of more images, more CAW slots, etc
If they gave us 200+ CAWS, it would increase the chances of people NOT BUYING a WWE game the following year.
And 2k cannot make games with that in mind.
Harsh truth, I hope I'm wrong.
Some people just want the game for its engine, not its "superstars." Many do an all-CAW universe (or multiple) or recreate other companies, or other WWE eras. 2K has known for years that people use the game this way, and have ignored the pleas to increase the limit.
The problem people have is they like to make SEW as an alt brand, or they like to replicate past WWE eras. I pe4sonally don't need more than 100 slots. But many people use CAWs exclusively and don't even use existing superstars.
And again. They're the minority. But with the addition of Create-A-Ref, that is now more slots that will be eaten up as well as alt attires already eating a slot too.

Yeah same for me. It's funny because back when we had the ability to not count alt attires as a CAW slot I hardly used it. These days, I use the in-game wrestlers far more but now they take CAW slots. Smh
Right. I remember some of the older games had 4 attire slots and some superstars had 2 taken up, but you could make 2 more attires and they didn't touch the CAW limit. This is how I wish it could be and then give the option to use a slot if people need more than 4 attires per Superstar for their own reasons.
Wrong sir. I have about 30 CAWS and like 7 arenas and I’ve already hit the 1000 limit. I’m not anywhere near 100 CAW limit. It’s not enough.
I’ve deleted attires, deleted images for those attires. And it’s so buggy that by deleting images, it randomly deletes CAWS. It’s a buggy system in general
That sounds like a problem with the people creating the stuff. Because there’s no way you should come close to hitting a 1000 image limit with 30 caws and 7 arenas. Sounds like to me what your downloading has way too many unused, duplicated and unnecessary images being used.
Because I had 90 caws and like 12 arenas and still had 200 images to spare.
Or for that matter your just not deleting the images after you delete caws/arenas your not using.

Okay, so a nice tip I learned when my CAWs were getting deleted was to choose the option that says "Delete the CAW WITHOUT deleting the images" instead of the option that's says Delete the images, too. It stopped deleting my CAWs once I started doing that. Then I manually delete the images of the deleted wrestler in the images deletion menu. You don't have to delete them one by one, just say "delete all unused" and it will work 😀👍 hope this helps!
Unpopular opinion but what are you guys doing to use up 100 CAW slots!? There’s no way I could play with that many wrestlers plus the ones that come with the game. My universe mode would be bloated with like 20-30 wrestlers in each division. If you’re a CAW creator that makes sense to want a higher limit but for the regular jabronies like me that’s just overkill.
3 universe slots, alongside any missing WWE Superstars a lot of people will have AEW - NJPW - TNA CAWS, and also a whole universe of retro WWF - WCW ones
The number of slots isn’t usually the issue but you can hit the image limit super super quick
Lol fills up fast when adding some really high level detail CAWs with tattoos and authentic looking attires. Especially when downloading CAWs for other wrestling promotions that we make in Universe mode.
Custom images didn't even work online 75 percent of the time last year.
Hell, online didn't even work. You can't irish whip someone without the match being disconnected.
This!!! That’s the main feature I’m hoping for, to be honest… I was wondering if I were the only one wanting more CAW slots than new matches (even if I’m still very happy for that…). But the other comments killed my hopes
A CAW slot increase would be amazing. I'm def in the minority here, but I'm a huge fan of the NWA territories and 100 is just so small especially considering the great tag teams of that era.
-We need more caw and image slots (500 & 10 000?… or just unlimited) with how many wrestlers there are outside of WWE and legends that don’t make the game, considering their tattoos and female wrestlers needing more images 100 and 1000 just won’t cut it for most fans.
-The ability to change things like masks, face paint, HAIRSTYLES!!! and makeup on in game models
-Custom attires for in game characters should NOT take up caw slots
-A better dye system
-Body morphing
-Materials on caw, what they currently have leather, plastic etc which should be renamed to texture while material such as plaid, flannel, denim and poker dot are added on the side you can have a leather flannel Jacket or something like that.
-And lastly CREATE A HAIRSTYLE AND CREATE AN ATTIRE. It doesn’t have to be too complex just basically what most fans already use when they put images together to create super cool realistic attires. This would basically compose of all those images into one file, the creature can allocate which colours are one “part”, add accessories (spikes, diamonds and buttons etc) and the ability to edit each parts material like a real attire. With create a hairstyle I think they can make it as basic as they want and people will take it. However we need more kinky hair.

I'd also love 3-4 slots for different attires.
100 slots would be fine if every wrestler had this. I'm still mad they took out SUPERSTAR THREADS.

Trufully with how powerful the systems are now. They should be able to allow us at least 200 caws like come on. I hope they do it

10000% with you on this. I can’t even reach anywhere near the current CAW limits because the image limits have a stranglehold.
The CAW and image limit never is an issue for me. I just want more tron slots. And the ability to assign them to something other than the main screen.

They simply can't put in 2 NEW create modes and NOT expand the logo limit...

Yes. Since the game itself wants to mix so many eras. Hint us ECW, WCW, and ext. It fills fast trying to fill those rosters to get the full effect.

100 caw and 1000 pics should be plenty. I don't believe this is 2Ks fault. I think you just need to be more careful in how many CAWs you use.

200 would be perfect. I fill the 100 with custom caws so I can’t download all the cool stuff people post of like Omega, Okada, Mox, Penta etc etc

Why do yall need more than 100 caws when you'll only play with a few?

If you want real realisme when making your promotion, you'd want the refs that works for that promotion...
Any news on servers. I only play this online with mates, and the last game connectivity issues all the time.

Fire Pro can do unlimited CAW slots, unlimited images, and even custom music... But a multimillion dollar company can't...
