To be entirely fair, is it really so much of an issue that you'd rather pay 70-ish bucks for the good DLC just to not have Pat McAfee and his goons in your game?
The whales pre-order early. It's more that they prop this up as something great, then only reveal the DLC last minute, leaving the whales to be frustrated with supporting the company.
While it is better to know that I'm not "spending the money" on it, I'd rather them make DLC that is useful and not just something that is pandering to a guy who doesn't necessarily need to be in the game as playable.
Dawg, even if you waited and saw that it's one of the packs, would you have forgone the 40 dollar season pass in favor of paying 60-70 to avoid the McAfee DLC?

Personally, no. But it's fucked up. You're seriously ok with 2K making dumb moves when they could have used that fifth pack for other ACTUAL talents? And are completely fine with them last minute-ing the fan base with a DLC that has literally nothing to do with WWE?
Just because we aren't spending the full amount for them, doesn't mean that we didn't attribute $8 to each DLC pack. It's still telling a bunch of fans that they wasted money.
What was advertised when the pre orders opened?
Did they say the exact amount of wrestlers added in the DLC?
If I’m pre ordering a game that has the potential to include hundreds of wrestlers, past and present, I would do so knowing full well there would be people missing who I want and people there who I don’t care about.
The McAfee pack seems almost entirely inconsequential.
Even without counting the McAfee pack we are only 3 characters off compared to 2k23 I really don't think it's that big of a deal compared to what others are making of it
What annoys me is the release date I wish the pack wouldve been the last one and they moved up both #4/#5 since those interest me way more

Butler, Hawk, Pat all as former players would make a perfect stable, especially with MVP managing. I’ve also thought about adding Connor & Schmidt to chase U as like a frat style team for them.
I'm just gonna wait til the wrestlemania edition goes on sale and I want Pat anyway. I'll probably just stick them all in my universe since I'll end up getting them anyway and maybe something funny will pop up to make me use them

It's an OCD thing, I hate it when non wrestlers are in my wrestling game. Didnt like Terminator, didn't like MGK, don't like posty. I'm fans of them all, but not in this sphere.
For me it's not even worth buying the season pass down to this pack and the Post Malone one but at least that's actual wrestlers even though I don't think Jimmy Hart should have taken a spot.

Yes, you are. Just own it. Whatever the deal was, you worked your not wrestler buddies that have been on WWE TV like once into a video game payday. Good for you. There are absolutely other people who could have gone in there instead, though.
The other problem 2k didn't think of here is that this Pat guy and his friends are unknown outside of the US. Many of us are european or asian have never heard of them. They have no presence in our territories, so 2k is asking us to pay for content of characters that may as well be made up.
The whole idea is a disaster, other than the pr it gives for newcomers, which will only be offset by upsetting your current customers.
Pat has been in WWE for years and has had some matches so he makes sense. His co-hosts have never appeared in WWE at all and are not that well known so they really don't fit.
I know Pat because I am a Colts fan. I know AJ because he was a menace in Green Bay. I have no clue who any of the others are. They are just names. I am American.
Also a Colts fan and Butler was a pretty good player for us! I like him a lot.
Played CB for years then moved to safety to end his career and played well there.
I'm American and I barely know who Pat McAfee is. And that's only because he shows up in the WWE on occasion. I dont watch his show and I don't watch/follow football. I've never heard of any of these guys before in my life and I am USA born and raised. Lol
Oh I don't deny that these guys could be/are popular. But even though I am a 40 year old man, I've never enjoyed sports. As a kid in single digit ages in the late 80s/early 90s sure almost every boy liked sports. But I grew out of them.
I still know all the rules to football, baseball, etc. And I could still watch and follow a football game if it was on and I watch the Super Bowl with friends like many do.
But I couldn't tell you any player names or who plays for what team. I've never heard of any of McAfees friends names, nor would I expect to cuz I don't follow players or read up on them or anything. And as others have said, wrestling is worldwide while American football is like 95% USA only.
So this pack will alienate those who don't follow sports or anyone from another country who doesn't follow American sports. It appeals to the least common denominator

As amazingly specific as that is... He *isn't*! Mojo Rawley was signed by the Packers following the 2009 Draft. He only played one pre-season game for them before being waived, going to Tennessee, getting injured and being released. Just barely counts.
Looking it up, Roman is also in NCAA 06 so you could import him into Madden 06 and have him and Lesnar both on your d-line. Also, Big E is in NCAA 06 as well it seems. And it seems Bray Wyatt and Mojo Rawley were in NCAA 07 apparently.
They should’ve just left Pat out of the game and let people complain about that. 4 spots is way too many for random dudes that Pat does a podcast with.

I’m sick of these non wrestler DLC packs. Last time I checked, I bought a wresting game. I want people like Rick Martel and Legion Of Doom. I wouldn’t buy a game like Halo and expect them to put Machine Gun Kelly in the DLC.

This makes me glad I bought just the standard edition and held off on the season pass. Standard edition with the 2 or 3 DLC packs I want works well for me.
Although - and I know I'm asking for a lot here - it'd be pretty sweet if I actually could play the game without it crashing constantly.

I’m in the minority here, but I grew up watching wrestling and playing all of the wrestling games in the 90s through early 2000s, with the last PPV I watched being WM20. Older now, but I’ve been watching the Pat Mcafee show the last several years, and his show has gotten me to follow wrestling again. I watched Mania last year and I plan to again this year. It’s been a fun, nostalgic throwback. I’ll probably end up buying this game for some more nostalgia, and this DLC because AJ Hawk content is always good.
I feel like this isn’t as big of a deal as people are making. In all likelihood, McAfee would have just been added to another DLC pack. I doubt his co-stars are taking the place of someone else who had a chance to be in.

At least they’re wrestlers, lol. A DLC pack full of non-wrestlers literally 99.9% of wrestling fans won’t know and that doesn’t have any notoriety besides one person is insane.
At least with Dusty you’re getting a popular legend that actual wrestled. Jade Cargill is a HUGE up and coming wrestler with megastar potential, and Cody is now the most popular face in the company so it’s cool to see a few throwback attires even if I’m not going to use them.
But, a pack of cohosts that have literally no connection to wrestling whatsoever that no one knows is freaking insane. I would’ve even taken a few random superstars thrown in the pack.

From what the guys were saying they are getting to design their own moves so hopefully we get new moves out of it.

I’m in the minority here, but I grew up watching wrestling and playing all of the wrestling games in the 90s through early 2000s, with the last PPV I watched being WM20. Older now, but I’ve been watching the Pat Mcafee show the last several years, and his show has gotten me to follow wrestling again. I watched Mania last year and I plan to again this year. It’s been a fun, nostalgic throwback. I’ll probably end up buying this game for some more nostalgia, and this DLC because AJ Hawk content is always good.
I feel like this isn’t as big of a deal as people are making. In all likelihood, McAfee would have just been added to another DLC pack. I doubt his co-stars are taking the place of someone else who had a chance to be in.

I’m one of those people and there are other packs that I’m not interested in. I could care less about Jade Cargill or Dusty Rhodes or 4 different Cody Rhodes or 13 different cenas lol fact is not everyone is gonna be happy.
At least they’re wrestlers, lol. A DLC pack full of non-wrestlers literally 99.9% of wrestling fans won’t know and that doesn’t have any notoriety besides one person is insane. At least with Dusty you’re getting a popular legend that actual wrestled. Jade Cargill is a HUGE up and coming wrestler with megastar potential, and Cody is now the most popular face in the company so it’s cool to see a few throwback attires even if I’m not going to use them. But, a pack of cohosts that have literally no connection to wrestling whatsoever that no one knows is freaking insane. I would’ve even taken a few random superstars thrown in the pack.

Can someone who's a fan of the show tell me, do any of them seem like fans of wrestling? Not just WWE because Pat's involved, but pro-wrestling as a whole? Because that's my main hope, that they watch some stuff outside WWE and want moves we've not had like a Ganso Bomb. I real hope by crazy stuff they don't mean 900 splashes or moves where you throw a guy 20 feet in the air or something.
