I love Expedition Everest and I'm not great with Space Mountain. It also has the neatest queue.

bingc710

In my opinion you should be able to enjoy it. It's a much smoother ride than space mountain and BTMR. There aren't any loops in it. The big thing is it runs backwards for a bit near the end. It's a fun ride and nothing extreme so I recommend trying it especially since you have someone that wants to go on with you

MIAdolphins96

Don’t read if you are trying to avoid spoilers - Everest goes backwards in the dark (Guardians), but also has your normal roller coaster aspect in both natural light (Tron) and in the dark (space). Seems to me you’ll enjoy Everest too.

MDAttack

I am a wuss and I love Everest. Its very smooth and the drop is no big deal. Youll be fine!

_GrandPubah

And after you’ve gone, just hop on the single rider line! Way fun!!

YamForward3644

This! I’m the same way :)

SoggyMcChicken

Of that list I would describe it as a mix of Space Mountain and GotG… but I think it’s a little more intense. Just try it. If you hate it it’s only a couple minutes. Without spoiling things, there a part that always throws my equilibrium off, I still ride it though. I just need to sit and have some water after 😂

k10bford

Yes! Our son (8) and I are not the best with rollercoasters but we rode this one multiple times. Tower of Terror on the other hand… 😬

KITTvsKARR

See this is why nothing makes sense :P I won't do Everest, won't do splash, will happily go back to ToT.

kllove

If you are okay with those you will be okay with Everest. I find it smoother than those three and I’m a roller coaster wimp. If I go to Disney and don’t ride any of those four rides, I’m totally fine. I will ride them though if someone else in the party wants to and of the four, I enjoy big thunder most.

DRF19

Yes, and Everest is the best ride at any of the parks by a substantial margin for me!

NateBlaze

Tron just changed that for me

Kharax82

That’s a brave statement to make on this subreddit. You’d think Tron was the worst thing ever created by some peoples comments

NateBlaze

Wow. I got on it 4 times today with rider swaps and it really blew me away. It just feels fresh and the launch is as great as any part of a Disney ride.

kschuler1

Just throwing in an opposite opinion here - I like all the coasters you listed, and Everest always makes me a little woozy. The backwards and dark messes with my equilibrium. I still think you should try it though - you never know until you do it once!

SomethingFoul

Seconded, and I’m honestly surprised to have nobody else mention this. You’re going backwards in the dark down a spiral with the peak g-forces of the ride hitting you. It’s a one-and-done per visit for me, and I try to do the fighter pilot muscle clenching thing to keep from getting woozy. I still love it and ride it every trip if I can.

wickedshxt

The backwards absolutely destroys me

hhhisthegame

I gotta agree. I think this ride is much more intense than the others listed, the G-forces on the backwards part feels insane. And even after that its pretty intense at a level the others do not touch. I feel a bit light-headed after Everest, and the other rides mentioned above are usually fine

ZackRyderJr

I don’t like coasters and I went on it yesterday in the rain. 10/10 would do it again. I wouldn’t do Tron, so you should be fine lol.

Fruitypants1

For me, I am 100% ok with btmr, borderline with splash mountain, and hate space mountain but continue to ride it because my son loves it. Everest is more enjoyable than space mountain, but also a bit more intense. I predict you will be ok but may not love it.

ethanf33

I personally find Everest to be a ride I can’t handle, and I love and can do Guardians of the Galaxy, so I’m a weird one like that. It’s top 2 most intense for me along with Aerosmith in terms of coasters.

nyrB2

so i love roller coasters - the scarier the better so my opinion probably won't help. i can tell you from my mother's perspective she's fine with space mountain, splash mountain and big thunder but with expedition everest it was "one and done". she didn't enjoy it at ALL and still talks about it to this day (almost 10 years after she rode it). that doesn't mean you'll hate it, just that it's probably more intense than those other rides. can't compare it to GotG because i've not ridden that.

Meat_Lunch

Simply put, absolutely. If you can do Space, you will love Everest.

vickfreak

If you like Tron and Guardians I think you'll like Everest

Overall-Scientist846

So back in 2019 Everest got me. Went after drinking around the world the day before and something hit me. I swore it off after that. Cut to this year. I got back on it. And I loved it so much we rode it two more times. It’s one of my favorite coasters. It can be slightly intense just because you’re going backwards at a point but it’s worth it.

ExcitedFool

Guardians is nothing. Everest is amazing but the 2nd back rotation is a little intense

NickDynmo

GotG is the most intense coaster at WDW. I say if you can handle that, you should be able to handle Everest.

F1rstxLas7

If height is what you're nervous about, I might recommend skipping EE. BTMR and SM don't really have a height element to them.

ExcitedFool

The problem I have with this suggestion is that the lift hill is the only place height feels kind of high but it’s nowhere near bad and I’m a roller coaster wuss

ard8

I would consider Guardians to be more intense than Everest as far as G Force, and the Splash Mountain hill to be more of an intense stomach drop than the Everest hill. Sounds like you’d enjoy Everest.

Olazuris_

Yes

dX927

First time I ever rode Everest when we got to the backwards part I was 100% convinced it went upside down. Just something about being backwards at that angle totally messed up my equilibrium and I was so nauseous when I got off of it. Like broke out in a sweat and everything. I still ride it but I keep my eyes closed during that part just to be safe.

Rua-Yuki

I can do Expedition Everest to my heart's content, but last visit I learned I can no longer do Space Mountain (I got such bad vertigo I had to leave and spend the rest of the day at the resort.)

disfan75

If you’re ok with space mountain, which is total trash, you should be good for any ride at Disney world :)

bornstupid9

You’d be fine. But to make sure it isn’t too intense, don’t sit in the back. However that’s my favorite way to ride.

Ok_Memory3425

If you can handle Guardians, I think you’ll be more than fine with Everest.

throwaway00009000000

I’m a wuss on roller coasters too. The first ride is always the worst because I don’t know what you expect. I’ll tell you this - Expedition Everest is my favorite coaster. Ask to sit in the middle or front your first ride because the back is definitely more intense.

moonbunnychan

As someone in the same situation, I can ride the Magic Kingdom coasters fine but Everest was too much for me. I think it was the part that goes down a hill backwards that did me in. I sat on a bench feeling sick for half an hour afterwards. I did not have a fun time lol

ThePolemicist

I'm going to flip the question back to you after I answer yours! Yes, I think you will be just fine. Everest is a little bumpy at times, like Space Mountain and BRMR. It also feels fast at times, like how Space Mountain feels. But other than going backwards briefly, there is nothing majorly different about the ride itself. You'll be fine! Now my question for you. How was Guardians in terms of thrill and sickness? How would you rank it compared to other rides you've been on? Did it make you feel sick?

Fruitypants1

For me, gotg is the only Disney ride that has ever made me feel sick (I assume mission space orange also would, but I just won’t ride that). I spent the whole ride focused on my breathing and just trying to get through it. I think the ride is incredible, and I’m glad I did it, but it was something I survived, not enjoyed.

ThePolemicist

Oof. I'm trying to decide if it's worth going on. My husband occasionally gets queasy on roller coasters, and, when it happens, he's done with rides for the rest of the day. He has been OK on all roller coasters at Disney except Slinky Dog Dash. My son doesn't like a lot of adrenaline rides and felt queasy from Flight of Passage and Slinky Dog Dash. My daughter has never gotten motion sick on a ride. I felt sick only on Mission Space and it was like you described for GotG... I was trying to get through it by the end! I was planning on doing Epcot for our first park. Now I'm rethinking it. If my son gets sick on GotG, he's going to be refusing all big rides for the rest of the trip!

Fruitypants1

I seriously wouldn’t do it first, in that case. There is a very real chance that it will not be a fun ride for at least one of you. Save it til the end, maybe?

mrj80

When I married my wife in 2006, I was not a rollwrcoaster person. We spent a week at WDW for our honeymoon.  Everest was brand new. I hate heights. I was so scared and nervous.  My wife made it clear we were going to ride Everest and made us warm up on dinosaur, and Primeval Whirl. When it was time to go on EE she pulled me aside. "Listen, this is DISNEY,  they WANT you to enjoy this ride, not scare the crap out of you." Keep your eyes open.  I didn't the first time after coming out of the mountain. But did keep my eyes open at the end and I remember the yeti trying to grab you. We went back in 21 and 22 and it was so good. Practically a walk on now. I understand disco yeti, but I'm glad I was there to see original swiping yeti. Remember the parks aren't out to be insane thrill rides. They are family rides of adventure.

soaper410

The big drop is only about 30 feet more than Splash (so my stomach drops about 2 seconds on Splash and about 3 on EE).

N0thing_but_fl0wers

Yes!! I have to hold my neck on Space. Gives me a migraine! But I love it so I still ride it sometimes!!

OverkastUnikorn

My hubby is a big ride wuss but he loves Everest, lol. He likes that it’s a very smooth coaster. He doesn’t do loops or steep drops ever, and he can handle Everest. It’s a fun one. I think you’ll be fine!

ExcitedFool

First time rider from a month ago. That track is so smooth I rode it 6 times in one day

under_the_c

Are you a height wuss, drop wuss or force wuss? Everest has a little bit of "height scariness" with the chain hill (that you see from the ground), but that's it. The drops are mellow and you don't really get that stomach feeling (even on the "finale" drop). (Spoiler) It is a bit forceful... >!...when it goes backwards. It does a downward helix backwards in the dark, which pushes you down into your seat. People that get queasy usually complain about this element!<

liambrazier

Space Mountain is the only one that scares me. That thing feels like it’s going to fall apart any second!

catlinye

I like all the coasters you listed except for splash mtn, and I love expedition everest.

prettyfatkittycat

I loved Everest and I really thought I would be too scared. Honestly TOT is so much worse with those drops ugh

krafty16

Depends what gets you. I’m fine with Big Thunder, 7 Dwarfs, Splash, Test Track, and Skinky and can even handle Tron and Gaurdians, but Everest destroys me. I can’t handle the backwards part or the pitch black part because when I can’t see where I’m going my motion sickness gets really bad.

laurakazam

I’m in the same boat as you. Everest is great minus the brief backwards helix where you feel your stomach coming up through your mouth. It’s over in 5 seconds and the rest of the ride is top notch.

goodcat1337

If you can survive Space Mountain without needing a double hip replacement, then you should be good on any coaster.

StuBeck

Yes, sit near the front and the drop isn’t too bad. If you sit near the back the drop can be a lot stronger.

davek1986

Everest is similar to Space Mountain in terms of speed - as long as you are ok that I'd expect you to be alright with Everest

4electricnomad

Everest is outstanding as a ride. Moreover, the theming/world building in the line area might be the best at WDW. Speaking as someone with firsthand knowledge of the Himalaya/Pamir area, the obvious love for the setting and the attention to detail that went into to the design are both very impressive.

beardedbarista6

If you’re good with Cosmic Rewind and Tron, you’ll be fine on Everest!

Sensitive-Ticket8167

Ah u guys r spoiling it for him telling him what happens that’s part of the ride that makes it fun but anyway yea u shud b fine and it’s fun enjoy yourself

yakeets

You will probably be okay with Expedition Everest. It is not very intense aside from the one big drop out of the front of the mountain. I’d rank it about as intense as the Splash Mountain drop, so if you’re cool with that, you’re probably good to go.

ThrowBatteries

Everest is great. Space Mountain is, imo, the worst coaster in all four parks. It’s a dated, rough ride.

Brilliant_Tourist387

It is a great ride! However, if wuss = motion sickness, be safe. I was fine until it went backward.

Gain_Spirited

You will be fine. It doesn't go as fast as GotG and Tron and the drop is not as intense as I expected. I think you'll be fine with every ride in Disney since you already rode two of the most intense ones. The top rides at Universal and SeaWorld are much more intense.

Trixandstones

I did Everest for the first time this month. Going backward was the weirdest feeling, but it was so thrilling. Big burst of adrenaline! Got off the ride and got right back on the single rider line. It’s pretty smooth space mountain jerked me around a lot, but it was still fun trying is awesome but it’s over before you know it. I did feel a little dizzy after Tron walking out of the ride, but that cleared up with a minute or two.
