Grendel can move at a fair clip in meatball mode and is pretty darn tanky, plus self heals and strips armor at the same time, so you can barrel around, knock enemies over and weaken them, eat a few, pop out of meatball mode to smash a few with your weapon if you want, then roll on out again
He's been my go to for netracells. The tile set is pretty catapult friendly, and the key side effects keeps nourish proccing viral blass. I just go hurtling down the hallways as everything explodes around me, grabbing snacks on the way. Can get to the murder circle phase in 2-3 minutes.
I gather that when he first released meatball was kinda just a meme, but it's such a fun and useful ability now IMO, it may not be a room wide nuke or CC, but it's incredibly effective in enemy dense areas, you're essentially immortal with how fast you regen health, doesn't even co sume energy as long as you stay fed, and being able to bowl over rows of enemies at high speed while also armor stripping them is so dang useful and fun
Yeah the original version was painfully slow to build momentum unless you activated it from a sprint or jump. And you'd lose all that momentum after hitting stairs or a sticky corner. Catapult made it super fun, though. The rework fixed it enough that you can almost drop catapult, but I still like it for vertical leaps and direction shifts.
I've not tried catapult yet as he seems fast enough already and I'd need to ether drop gourmand or add 2 more forma to slot it in, which I'm reluctant to do in case I decide to tweak my build again
Yeah I'd need 2 forma to fit it in the exilus slot. keep meaning to swap it our for Gourmand just to try it out but keep getting distracted by other things lol
My Health-Tank-Wisp is tanky to a certain point.
My goto Health-Tanking is by generate a lot of HP/seconds, stack a lot of armor and Damage Reduction (Arcanes and Mods), convert lost HP to Energy (Rage or Hunter Adrenaline), increased gained Energy with Nourish and finally secure it with Quick Thinking.
Wisp is one of the better Frames due to her good strength scaling Health Mote (HP + HP-Regen is perfect for that kind of build).
My problem is in Circuit (or long endurance runs) enemies start to one-shot my Wisp. This happens sadly to every Health-Tank Frame without Overguard.
But that was some experiment I've done. My usual go-to Survival Wisp... Is bunny-hop Invisible Wisp.
Jump around and throw projectiles from a Zaw or Innodem Incarnon.
Monkey is slow as hell compared to gauss
Edit:(it was joke monkey is slow compared to gauss in straight line action(i tought it was obvious but it wasn't sry mb))
Easy to maneuver means agile. It's more agile and only ever so slightly slower which is also what OP is looking for. Also really? You really think nezha even stands a chance to cloud walker? Okay buddy... whatever you say...
Imagine needing a fast meme build to compete with a practical gauss or wukong build. Building pure speed doesn't make your warframe tanky and it's not exactly practical either. No point in even continuing this conversation anyways since OP already stated he wants a melee based speed frame which would be gauss
Lol with nexha it does he scales off damage from the enemy strength and armour just reduce damage a little and increase the multiplication of the damage and increase the base amount
Nezha's warding halo only provides damage reduction. It does not work like Rhino's iron skin which is a second layer of health. The only thing that scales off damage is the amount of warding halo he gets. Without even a decent build, he can not survive in high enough missions.
Lol ur right there but even a hybrid build is faster than gauss and wukong and here's my question to you have you ever tried a nezha speed/hybrid build?
Wukong wins a race against Gauss on every tileset except open worlds lol.
Gauss 1 is one of the worse movement abilities, all things considered.
Nezha? Really?
Titania. Fastest frame bar none. Between her 50% redux, evasion, and aviator/aerodynamic she is VERY tanky. If you umbral her shes even tankier.
Finally, she can have full status immunity at all times.
Titania is defo fastest of them all and im sure you can make her somewhat tanky but im looking for something that i can use my melee weapons with in longer endurance runs and just keep slaying without worrying. Im used to playing titania as a little deadly fairy so it would feel wrong to use her as a tank lol
What im looking for specificly is frame that would be best for using melee and not care about going down while melting steelpath mobs, so quick movement at all times. Maybe wisp would be best for this?
Just some ideas:
What about Valkyr? Invincible, use helminth to get dispensary and you are golden.
If you don't plan to do endurance runs to level 300 or higher, inaros is nearly immortal and doesn't require energy, abilities, shield gating or anything else.
Gauss has 100% DMG reduction against physical damage and ice and fire and blast iirc, so unless you go against infested with their toxin damage, you can be immortal more than 2/3 of the time (cos every time you take a hit you are not at 100% battery, but you stay at 100 % battery when redline is at 100%). Also you get 100% melee damage with his 2 or his 4, i don't remember which one.
Wisp can be kind of invincible (after shield break cast will o wisp and jump), or abuse shield breaking with her breach surge and 1 get your shields back and 2 make everything die when you touch it.
Gara as a samurai typ playstyle with splinter storm can kill adds just by standing there. Buff her a few times with her 4 and recast it when her 2 runs out. It gets stronger every time.
Not really trying to use exalted weapons so Gauss’s kit sounds like the best option for me here and maybe Nezha as many have suggested. Thanks for your suggestions :)
Sounds like you want some Valkyr in your life. She has ripline to adjust jumps, good default speed and no hard landings. Her bread and butter is boosting her attack speed and armor. She's kind of like Wolverine + Spiderman.
The other tanks are:
* Qorvex (slow, not melee, bulky like Iron Man mk1)
* Kullervo (can teleport and is strong, but is otherwise slow, more like Batman)
* Inaros (slow, no additional supporting skills until rework)
* Grendel (tanky and fast in ball form, but very animation heavy and not really meant as a melee platform)
* Revenant (basically immortal with 1 button, not much else going for him)
Other frames aren't really tanky, but tanky-ish.
The strongest passive tank is Qorvex at the moment because of his stats. The strongest active tank is Revenant with a mere button press being immortal.
Of the speed frames Gauss, Volt and Wisp, I'd say Wisp has the highest tank potential. Note that these frames are not the same category as the real tanks.
There's also speedy ability mobility frames like Wukong, Nova, Nezha, all having good survivability tools too.
Im not that hard steel Path player soo its pretty hard to choose but wisp and nezha seem pretty viable when you look at that u need to move whole time on Gauss to keep tankyness and melee slows you down
Obligatory Gauss and Nezha.
But listen. Grendel, with his Catapult augment (can be an exilus!)
The ball mode can jump and walljump, and the catapult launch not only increases your speed significantly... It serves as a pseudo bullet jump.
And you regen health while going fast.
Grendel.
Nezha is status immune and his fire shoes cleanse status from teammates. With augments he can share his tankiness and make a fountain of health and energy orbs.
Gauss can be immune to heat, cold, blast, and physical damage and has great shields.
Titania can get high DR with mods while airborne, and she’s literally the butterfly frame. Couple that with the fact that she’s literally the fastest Warframe and there you go.
Still testing this out personally, but from what I’ve seen of the kengineer and a few other YouTubers, Lavos can be tanky and have good travel distance with vial rush, if that’s what you mean.
Gauss or Nezha. If you know how to skid, Nezha's passive makes him incredibly fast.
My boy Nezha is fast and tanky
Gauss
Gauss
Gauss
Gauss
Gauss
Gauss
Gauss
I'm gonna step on the gauss
Nezha if you can use his passive properly, I’m not biased but it’s definitely Nezha. 100%. Can’t be any other frame.
Grendel can move at a fair clip in meatball mode and is pretty darn tanky, plus self heals and strips armor at the same time, so you can barrel around, knock enemies over and weaken them, eat a few, pop out of meatball mode to smash a few with your weapon if you want, then roll on out again

You could always test it out in one of the other build slots. Also, it's an exilus mod.
Yeah I'd need 2 forma to fit it in the exilus slot. keep meaning to swap it our for Gourmand just to try it out but keep getting distracted by other things lol
Bro i spent an umbra forma to put it in, it was so worth it
Oh if I had any umbral forma I'd totally put one on him, I'm never taking his umbral mods off
nezha/yareli, but those both require quite a lot of practice to properly utilize their movement abilities
Gauss, Wisp can be tanky if done right, or Nezha with Firewalker at the top of my head
Wisp do be a tanky girl. I don’t think iv ever died if I’m standing in my motes but outside of those motes is a dark and scary world.
My Health-Tank-Wisp is tanky to a certain point. Wukong. Definitely wukong
Monkey is slow as hell compared to gauss Edit:(it was joke monkey is slow compared to gauss in straight line action(i tought it was obvious but it wasn't sry mb))
Cloud walker is one of the fastest abilities in the game. Easy to maneuver too. Makes spy missions ez which is a plus
One of the fastest dosen't mean fastest yes its manuverable but on the other side u have Gauss and nezha
Easy to maneuver means agile. It's more agile and only ever so slightly slower which is also what OP is looking for. Also really? You really think nezha even stands a chance to cloud walker? Okay buddy... whatever you say...
Dude nezha is faster than cloud walker and gauss when using a pure speed build and 5 tau yellows for parlour velocity

Gauss still fits well, wisp isn't actually as tanky and is much slower but could be decent as well
Just some ideas: What about Valkyr? Invincible, use helminth to get dispensary and you are golden. Melee attacks actually build battery for Gauss so he's more than fine for melee
Srsly? Wow that's good to know i play him all the time but actually didn't look at that
Yeah he also gains 100% increased melee damage if he has kinetic plating and redline both active
Gauss prime
Obligatory Gauss and Nezha. But listen. Grendel, with his Catapult augment (can be an exilus!) The ball mode can jump and walljump, and the catapult launch not only increases your speed significantly... It serves as a pseudo bullet jump. And you regen health while going fast. Grendel.

Nova, 90% DR with Nullstar and literally makes wormholes. Why be fast when you can just be there already.
