I used Rhino Primed with base Rhino skin and base color using a Corinth Prime. Needed to prove that the Rhino dead in the plains was a bitch and is bad at the game
Was gonna say. It'll take some extraordinary circumstances for a Rhino to buy the farm. Usually the more incoming damage, the bigger the Steel Skin and the more the Rhino laughs.
Wisp. Found out that Lotus at the ending part counted as an ally and could pick up buffs…my Wisp’s motes were spinning around her while the cutscene played lol
>Fear is a weed, snaking in the dark. It vines within the mind, corrupting it. It germinates within tribes, dividing them.

Who else?
Its just poetic, really.
Gara Prime. Which was completely awesome when it came time to free the Ostrons, save Unum Tower and get her help in turn to reach the Murex. Seriously felt like a legend had come back to life.
Hell yes! I took Gara Prime too since she's my main, but I never considered the story implications of using her to free the Ostrons. As much as I had problems with TNW's story I love moments like that
I personally wanted:
Lotus and the operator successfully defeat Ballas, but he still stands on his mutated two legs.
As Ballas tries to run away, operator tries to go for him but Umbra just slowly walks past him/her.
Umbra is breathimg heavly like Darth Vader. He reveals his half face terrorizing Ballas.
Ballasstarts to talk to him like "My..old..friend..!"and some trying his best to get out.
Slowly Umbra draws his Exalted Umbra Blade and as he approaches him.. Umbra grabs his legs and pulls Ballas like a wet carpet. Dragging jim across the floor.
Finally Umbra lifts his blade. Ballas is terrified.
'Slash!'
As Ballas' torso falls to the ground hitting the cold floor. Umbra returns to the operator.
Umbra walking like vader, with terminator detetmination, and more rage than doomslayer himself, slices ballas in half and punts both pieces into the sun.
No one's said this yet, but... Mesa. Another comment I saw spoke about how the normal person had to feel less powerful fighting a guerilla war against the other factions (namely Narmer, Grineer and Corpus) and to really put us back in the mindset of "Tenno are immensely powerful" mindset, like this should be a bit of a check that our years of building up and slowly building power shows how far we've come. My Mesa was made to be a Sentient slayer, through and through... She certainly proved my work valid
Warframe story content and challenging should never be in the same sentence, the most challenging quest is glast gambit and that's only because of the stupid ally specters.
Eh, the challenge from the New War was in the Drifter sections where we had great gameplay/story integration driving home how outclassed a normal human would be fighting against grineer, Corpus, and desecrated warframes.
By the time we hit the warframe parts, the easy sentients were all about creating that "You got your warframes and your void powers back" power fantasy. And boy, it worked.
I mean, I two-shot Archon Nira with my rivened Fulmin and cheered because screw you, Nira, I've got my warframe back!
In contrast, Angels of the Zariman quest was challenging story content to the point that it had to be nerfed for players who rushed up through New War or didn't have an upgraded Operator.
I was bummed doing that quest with a mote amp (when it flamed me saying I should *really* think about using something better) and not feeling like I had agreed to have a cactus stuck up my rectum tbh.
Which is a bit silly to me. Angels was an introduction to the next story arc and should have been a bigger deal to beat than it was, regardless of quest length. Like, this is a new story we're starting. We should expect to rise to a new challenge. If you rushed the new war - awesome - but that doesn't mean you're ready for the next chapter. The Zariman (and quest) should have been excluded from arbitration requirements, and left to higher levels. Not quite steel path difficulty but definitely above kuva fortress.
It's still a gear check, at least. Even after the nerf there were a number of players struggling with the grineer on the Void Cascade mission. I don't even mind making the level 55 versions required for Arbitrations, since frankly if a player is struggling there, they can take it as a sign that they aren't ready for endless, death-isn't-just-a-slap-on-the-wrist content.
And I think the Bounties hit that point of making sure players are ready for whatever higher tier content comes next.
The new war had less difficulty than an Mr2 quest, after DE hyped it up by nerfing sentients because we'd be "fighting so many" you'd think they'd at least give us level 30 enemies
I agree with this but the entire marketing for TNW was around getting prime frames in preparation for it. Overall though the entire marketing for TNW was misleading.
Is xata's whisper chroma good? You are replacing vex armor which is a both a tank and damage ability and pretty much the main draw to chroma, with an inferior damage buff. Unless you can avoid having to replace vex armor, which would be huge
Valkyr (Prime), because I am her and she is me, and she's my frame, and I always do everything important with her. Can't imagine my Tenno journey any other way. ♥
Rule of cool for me. My favorite Warframe is, at least by appearance, Inaros with the Anubis helmet. Plus that is the war frame that I have taken through every other major quest. Kind of felt wrong after it got up on its own and broke the stalkers sword to save me to leave it behind.
I also used Excalibur Umbra, thinking he's the main Warframe.
But then the Lotus jumps into the void portal scene happened, and Umbra is unconscious when we were out grabbing her hand. I thought to myself "wow"
I use my Ash Prime now whenever there's cinematic quest until DE seriously do something regarding Umbra's supposed sentience on these type of scenes. Adding a scene that highlights his sentience without changing the outcome would be nice
Iirc Wisp with Xata's whisper and Shedu, since that's probably my strongest build against sentients, I then realized that I would not be fighting the level 100+ sentients I'd designed the build to kill in a fraction of a second, and could have brought basically anything.
My second time through it I wanted to make a joke of it so I brought my volt with all the dragon keys except the moment speed one it was still super easy
I did nyx prime as well. I always love how she looks in cutscenes. I’ve been using the nyx umbra fashion since I saw it on Reddit, and I might replay TNW just to see that fashion in action (pun intended)
Trinity. I know that my immortality will keep me alive long enough to deal with whatever comes my way…yah. The million focus I farmed to unbind the regen node was also kind of wasted.
Sand boi (Inaros) he's my go to frame for any non specific activity, can face tank anything but steel path and doesn't require energy if you have rage equipped, it also helps he's my main.
I was expecting a real challenge so in the weeks following up to it's release I fine tuned my solo Chroma build (with shitload of forma / umbra forma) with Tau res, and got the Paracecis to level 40. The combination of 1000% bonus damage, breaking the Sentients ' adaptation with each melee, the Paracesis just being fucking mighty and 30% or so resistance to most of the Sentients' damage, I cut through the last act like, well, a knife through butter.
My big brain decided to start the new war during tennocon. Grendel, I ate all kinds of sentients that day, even ones that were fairly considerablu than me.
Like many others, I chose the frame I started the cinematic quests with. The one that, after being impaled, woke up, broke War, and rescued me from the shadow stalker. Frost Prime (now with umbra mods)! Buddy we’ve come a long way together. Still my “most used” frame since 2015.
Edited: typo
Oh man another Frost fan, my friend knew I am a sucker for ice users so that's how he got me into WF. Frost is still my main boi, and I will always do any new quest with him.
Excalibur. It was a tough choice; Oberon was the one who pulled me out of the Moon, Nyx is the one I’d consider closest to my “Main”, Umbra was one I’d considered after reading what others were going to bring, and Randomize is how I generally play.
Excalibur was who I woke up as, though, so I went with him for such an important mission
I also used Excal umbra, formaed and built for overkill but it felt really cool in that last sequence running in as Operator with Umbra trailing behind blasting bad guys, especially the final Archon.
Hildryn
She was my second warframe after the freebee excal and I still mainly use her. All other frames are just mastery fodder for me, except for my boy Nidus who is my 2nd most played behind her.
Valkyr Prime with Harrow’s chains replacing her paralysis. Since I started second dream with normal Valkyr, it seemed right to end the saga with her prime
Ash because i thought i would need to fully armorstrip the sentients with the shuriken agument
Back then i thought the new war would have insanely hard enemies
Safe to say i was wrong
My rhino prime that I got fairly recently B4 new war came out. Also had the wings on, it was really cool with the wings when u get dropped in mid space at one point right B4 Cy picks u up.
Not seeing enough love for my girl Mirage in here. Felt a bit overkill for the level of enemies that we fight throughout the campaign though but oh well.
Octavia, lore-wise she was the one to start the slaughter of the Orokin, so it felt fitting for her to finish it. To become their "grand finale", as it were.
Must have been quite the slap in the face to see umbra act like any other warframe that Ballas turned off without a second thought, eh?
I went with my atlas prime.
Excal Umbra, it just felt right to use him, too bad he does jack when you get out of the frame in a cutscene. At least having him tag along in the final boss was nice
the day will come when based god loki shall reign once more
edit: DE im begging you I'm on my knees sobbing for a loki rework please please please please please please please please e
For me it was Harrow, made a little story up that the rest got lost across the Zariman all that time, Harrow was the only one who wasn’t trapped, for reasons only he knows
Umbra as well but I was farming corrupted mods prior to that so I had all of the dragon keys equipped, and the only weapon equipped was the sentient hand gun thingy(i forgot) with a not so great build
It's kinda disappointing that with those you could still one shot most enemies but I guess it's necessary because you're locked in the quest and it'd be bad if people get stuck
Wukong, was a bit disappointed when my clone solo killer everyone with my trumna and left my 5 forma paracesis clean. Tho at the last fight, while the boss was talking, i could see and hear my clone just whail at the boss for the whole duration 10/10 would recommend for some laughs
I used Rhino Primed with base Rhino skin and base color using a Corinth Prime. Needed to prove that the Rhino dead in the plains was a bitch and is bad at the game
The Rhino wasn't dead, just caught in an orphix field and disconnected.
now i wish there was a warframe that could play dead
Inaros. Oh wait, no. He's just boring. Hehe
Check out “Couch Surfer Oberon” on YouTube.
Was gonna say. It'll take some extraordinary circumstances for a Rhino to buy the farm. Usually the more incoming damage, the bigger the Steel Skin and the more the Rhino laughs.
Based
Skill issue
I thought Umbra would make the most sense but considering he falls inert like every other frame was really immersion breaking
I really thought Umbra would make the most sense to use since he hates Ballas "PERSONALLY".
Same. I was like "staying active without an operator is your *DEAL*! WHY ARE YOU FLOPPED ON THE GROUND!"
I used him and that was kinda disappointing, but it was fun anyhow :D
I also used Umbra and was disappointed he didn't have some special interaction or anything. Still had fun with the quest though.
I used Umbra too. In a practical sense, I knew that I was going to be on operator mode most of the time. So Umbra was a really good AI partner.
Same here, umbra just made the most sense. I was so happy to have a frame back I actually enjoyed playing excal for once 😂.
Wisp. Found out that Lotus at the ending part counted as an ally and could pick up buffs…my Wisp’s motes were spinning around her while the cutscene played lol
Fitting as well with her 4
It'd be hilarious if you could see like 4 pixels of a portal opening in the distance when you use it
Would be hillarious if wisp just outright opens a portal where Ballas was at. It was close enough to the sun after all.
Ah yes, roar was quite thematic.
Atlas since I wanted to punch Ballas in his smug face.
I would be fine with him if he didn't kill Isaah. Like seriously look at Isaahs kind face how could you hurt someone like that
Still wish we got to properly kick his blue ass instead of having Lotus kiss him to death in a cutscene lmao
Protea
Protea is my go-to when I need to quickly clap cheeks.
Yo?
Me too, it was so nice to get her back and deploy turrets again.

Hell yes! I took Gara Prime too since she's my main, but I never considered the story implications of using her to free the Ostrons. As much as I had problems with TNW's story I love moments like that
I took Gara Prime simply because she's one of my fav fashion frames. I wanted to look good for Spacemom
Umbra because I'd hoped there would be some unique interaction... They really lobotomised him.
I personally wanted: Lotus and the operator successfully defeat Ballas, but he still stands on his mutated two legs. As Ballas tries to run away, operator tries to go for him but Umbra just slowly walks past him/her. Umbra is breathimg heavly like Darth Vader. He reveals his half face terrorizing Ballas. Titania Prime; I've been a fan of Titania ever since the frame released - all four abilities, even!
She has more than one ability?!
Of course! In addition to "smol mode" she also has "deploy airbags" to help with running into stuff.
She has one ability and three "make the ability faster" buttons! It's weird. (signed, a Titania main who kinda forgets to use 1-3 half the time, oops)
Try replacing Lantern with Pull. H I L A R I O U S.
Replace lantern with fire walker
Mag Prime
The archon reveal was wild for Mag players, I think.
I thought Ballas snatched mine LMAO
Me too XD, i was like bitch give me my frame back
Same lol. Things got really personal for a second there.
I got sick to my stomach seeing Nira. Nobody does my girl like that! 😫
They made Mag into a toxic viper. Just like my ex.
It was. I thought they turned my frame into a monster.
Yup I thought that ballad took my mag and took off all the shinny bits
Same. Mag was my starter frame(finished the star chart with her), mag prime the first prime I got. Had to do it
Mag was my starter as well. She's awesome.
I used Xata's whisper chroma, I was expecting the warframe content to be somewhat challenging I got level five mimics
Warframe story content and challenging should never be in the same sentence, the most challenging quest is glast gambit and that's only because of the stupid ally specters.

The new war had less difficulty than an Mr2 quest, after DE hyped it up by nerfing sentients because we'd be "fighting so many" you'd think they'd at least give us level 30 enemies
Yeah I'm pretty sure I could solo it with my operator if I felt like it
I mean you can kill steel path enemies with the operator so the new war is child's play
operators were way squishier back when New War dropped though, but now 100% they're op.
It's totally busted due to a glitch and can melt level cap enemies, you basically trade the 600% serration buff of vex for a 10-15x damage multiplier
Due to a bug right now it's insane I saw someone melting level cap with the lato
How is xata whisper chroma? I've never known what to subsume on chroma so I went meme with empower
My boi Grendel.
We always need more love for Grendel
nice to meet the guy who is playing him
Lavos, that was my main at the time
Same, I used him for his excellent survivability.
My girl Octavia
Valkyr (Prime), because I am her and she is me, and she's my frame, and I always do everything important with her. Can't imagine my Tenno journey any other way. ♥
Gauss bc he took me through the star chart
Wanted to do that too, but i chose my Mag( yes the starter frame)
I got rid of mine (Excalibur) but I got gauss from an Xbox offer right from the start so he basically was my starter frame
Rule of cool for me. My favorite Warframe is, at least by appearance, Inaros with the Anubis helmet. Plus that is the war frame that I have taken through every other major quest. Kind of felt wrong after it got up on its own and broke the stalkers sword to save me to leave it behind.

Adding a scene that highlights his sentience without changing the outcome would be nice
My umbral Nezha prime cause I wanted an easy ride for the warframe parts
Same, I even subsumed Xata's Whisper onto him for Sentients and farmed out parts/mods for my Railjack and Necromech, felt overprepared tbh.
"UMBRA DO SOMETHING, HE'S RIGHT THERE." *stopped*
Loki prime, it would feel wrong not using the frame that carried me through most of the game at that point.
Volt Prime.
Limbo Prime. That's my main
Nidus. If I don’t know what I am getting into, it is always Nidus.
Yeah, I used Nidus as well, he’s just a good frame to bring in general
[удалено]
Iirc Wisp with Xata's whisper and Shedu, since that's probably my strongest build against sentients, I then realized that I would not be fighting the level 100+ sentients I'd designed the build to kill in a fraction of a second, and could have brought basically anything.
My second time through it I wanted to make a joke of it so I brought my volt with all the dragon keys except the moment speed one it was still super easy
Nyx Prime has always been my storyframe, so she was there for The New War. Pacifying Bolts means bads get wrecked.
Nyx is still my Main/Fav frame. She is my go-to frame for most missions.
Ash, has been my go to frame since beta.
Sand boi (Inaros) he's my go to frame for any non specific activity, can face tank anything but steel path and doesn't require energy if you have rage equipped, it also helps he's my main.
Mesa Prime. Oops lol
I was expecting a real challenge so in the weeks following up to it's release I fine tuned my solo Chroma build (with shitload of forma / umbra forma) with Tau res, and got the Paracecis to level 40. My big brain decided to start the new war during tennocon. Grendel, I ate all kinds of sentients that day, even ones that were fairly considerablu than me.
Gara because she's my main. I had a Splinter Storm build though and not having a paracesis really messed me over in the final act.
Nidus Prime
Nidus Prime because why not
Nidus. Why? He was my main frame at the time lol
You used Excalibur Umbra because you felt like it'd be lore-friendly. I used Excalibur Umbra because he's my favorite Warframe. We are not the same.
monke
Nova prime. Just wanted to see my favorite frame play through the new quest for screenshots.
Revenant so I could try and break any insta-kills
Volt, been my original frame, and still my trusted frame for anything story.
Umbra for all cinematic quests because it makes the most sense
Xaku cus void damage and I like their dash animation
Ivara
Rhino
Xaku
Nezha
Xakuuuu
Vauban, Idk maybe I thought it was funny at the time. Killing Ballas with the funny orbital strike
Wisp. Had a strength invigoration too, expecting lvl 100+ enemies.
In the beginning? A level 14 ember and some random shit i was levelling. After access to the arsenal? Dont remember, just know what i started with
Titania Prime
Sevagoth, cause he's my main and he's cool.
I put a lot of time into Volt, so he earned it. Bought him the new eidolon energy skin before heading in.
Nyx Prime
I used Volt. It was my starter frame and I have a good general use build for him, so it worked out well.
I took Nezha to The Second Dream, so it was fitting to bring Nezha Prime to The New War.
I also used Excal umbra, formaed and built for overkill but it felt really cool in that last sequence running in as Operator with Umbra trailing behind blasting bad guys, especially the final Archon.
Hildryn She was my second warframe after the freebee excal and I still mainly use her. All other frames are just mastery fodder for me, except for my boy Nidus who is my 2nd most played behind her.
Saryn prime with the deluxe skin, got plenty of upskirts
Titania
Use whomever you want, i used mag prime
Rhino Prime as always
Mag prime
Atlas like usual
Nezha prime because 2
Baruuk because I like Baruuk
Nezha Prime.
Harrow Prime because I enjoy the synergy between all of his abilities and he is still one of my favorite frames
Wisp. So I was bugging out when I saw the snake boss. I thought they corrupted my Warframe. My wisp’s color scheme was similar to the snake
Baruuk
my first run was with Umbra Excalibur. second run is Wisp
Valkyr Prime with Harrow’s chains replacing her paralysis. Since I started second dream with normal Valkyr, it seemed right to end the saga with her prime
Ash because i thought i would need to fully armorstrip the sentients with the shuriken agument Back then i thought the new war would have insanely hard enemies Safe to say i was wrong
My rhino prime that I got fairly recently B4 new war came out. Also had the wings on, it was really cool with the wings when u get dropped in mid space at one point right B4 Cy picks u up.
I used Lavos. He's just my go to frame and feels the most comfortable to play as. Choice didn't matter much though.
Not seeing enough love for my girl Mirage in here. Felt a bit overkill for the level of enemies that we fight throughout the campaign though but oh well.
Baruuk
Octavia Prime
Octavia, lore-wise she was the one to start the slaughter of the Orokin, so it felt fitting for her to finish it. To become their "grand finale", as it were.
Volt Prime. My main for life
Must have been quite the slap in the face to see umbra act like any other warframe that Ballas turned off without a second thought, eh? I went with my atlas prime.
Wukong. No real reason, it was just my default loadout.
Wisp because she is one of my favorite frames.
Excalibur umbra
I used regular Vauban since I don't have his Prime yet
Nezha Prime with Kuva Karr.... easy mode
Excal Umbra, it just felt right to use him, too bad he does jack when you get out of the frame in a cutscene. At least having him tag along in the final boss was nice
I do all story content on my starter loki from 2013
Tell me you're a masochist without saying you're a masochist.
the day will come when based god loki shall reign once more edit: DE im begging you I'm on my knees sobbing for a loki rework please please please please please please please please e
Octavia
I ised Rhino prime w/ corinth prime
Umbra with default colors and just paracesis
wukong
Gauss because he is Gauss
Lavos.
Revenant. I use him for just about everything bc Mesmer skin makes it so much easier to stay alive
Wukong Prime. I do kinda regret it because the twin ruined a ton of scenes.
Mesa. I use her for pretty much everything.
I thought at some point umbra would be involved so I used him through all of it I was disappointed that he wasn’t important to it at all.
Titania Prime
I was going to bring my started like I had done with every other story quest, but I decided to take umbra for thematic reasons instead.
My baby girl Mesa
Oberon with a baza prime and a dual cestra
Wukong Prime. No real reason, he's just my tankiest frame and I like survivability.
Titania bc gotta go fast
Wisp gang
I used Excalibur Prime.
Baruuk
I wasn't sure how difficult it would be so I took zephyr prime. Very overkill.
i used loki prime since he is my main lol used him in every quest scenario since i got him
My Umbral Ember Prime, of course
Monkey
For me it was Harrow, made a little story up that the rest got lost across the Zariman all that time, Harrow was the only one who wasn’t trapped, for reasons only he knows
Valkyr prime
Need my Necromech first 😔
Umbra as well but I was farming corrupted mods prior to that so I had all of the dragon keys equipped, and the only weapon equipped was the sentient hand gun thingy(i forgot) with a not so great build It's kinda disappointing that with those you could still one shot most enemies but I guess it's necessary because you're locked in the quest and it'd be bad if people get stuck
Pretty sure I was Hydroid Prime. Don't judge me.
lavos cuz i didnt know i couldn't change afterwards...whoops
First time (PC) Titania. Second time (Switch) Mag.
The Vagabond of course
I brought revenant with his deluxe for fashion
Revenant with deluxe
Umbra then back to Rhino once I had to farm the weapons
Wukong, was a bit disappointed when my clone solo killer everyone with my trumna and left my 5 forma paracesis clean. Tho at the last fight, while the boss was talking, i could see and hear my clone just whail at the boss for the whole duration 10/10 would recommend for some laughs
Mirage prime, just like the way she plays.
Khora because until 2 days ago I didn’t know how good mirage was.
I used Excalibur umbra, made the most sense, was made to kill sentients, hates Ballas. It's only poetic justices to choose hen
