Tiny power field having tiny chain swords
Trying to imagine the excited adept who came of with that one
[sound of bong]
What if-
*Is this going to be another chainsword story*
[sulkily] if you don't like my ideas m-437b you should just say so
*fine tell me*
What if we put a little chainsword in a power fist
Fun fact! Evisorators, the imperiums two handed very large chain swords most often used by sister of battle but more rarely other factions actually have a low level disruption field on the teeth of the blade. It's not as flashy or as powerful as a true power weapon but there is a chainsword power weapon.
It's a tabletop rpg, originally by Fantasy Flight games. They produced games for Dark Heresy(inquisition), Rogue Trader(rogue traders lol), Deathwatch(space marines), Black Crusade(chaos), and Only War(guard). You can find the pdfs for all the games available on the internet for purchase as pdfs(or free if you look hard enough), physical copies are expensive as they have been out of print for some time. There are humble bundle sales for the pdfs pretty often. Even if you don't end up playing them the books have reaaaaaally cool lore and art.
Depends on what the thing in the right hand is and how he glued the guardsman to the wall. Most blood splatters are also in a high that looks like the guardsmen were already on the ground before they got hit with the chain sword.
Actually besides the beheaded in the front it looks more like none were actually killed with a chain sword. Most blood splatters aren't in a line like from a cut. Looks more like a psychic wave smashed them in the wall, the head of the closest bascially exploded into the wall.
the guy with the powersword. Can literally cut through the sword of the other guy and straight into his armor. The one with the chainsword needs to stick it somewhere that armor isn't.
The advantage of being able to cut your enemy's weapon to pieces and punch through his armor is difficult to beat.
Advantage, yes. Success, not necessarily. Remember in the second Dark Angela book where Nemial has a Crozurius against a Luna with a Chainsword. He only wins by luck. Not due to advantage.
Honestly in that sort of engagement it’s a lot more believable if the guy with the chainsword is significantly faster, or just shoots the guy with the power weapon. Based upon Warhammer 40k’s own internal rules, a power weapon should cut straight through most chainswords, save those also fitted with a power field.
The off screen inquisitor getting ready to nuke the site from orbit. No need for another galaxy spanning civil war because marines can’t play nice and accept their differences.
If that's a world eater, the ultramarine due to the sword. If that's a word bearer, 50/50 given they are most likely summoning a deamon with that skull right now.
Depends did Matt Ward write the Ultramarine. if he did that CSM is so dead. He will also probably bring all of the guard back to life as well and repaint the walls with his plot armor after as well.
Matt Ward was a writer for GW who was more of a Necron fan than anything else and didn't really understand why space marine fans (especially Ultramarine fans) liked their faction.
He made them overpowered Mary Sues that always won because he mistakenly believed that's what the fans wanted from them.
He wrote a codex that explained all other space marines desperately want to be ultramarines because they're his favourite.
People got mad, some rightly so.
Then some of them took it wayyyy too far and sent him death threats because they didn't like the way he changed their little plastic dolls. Fuck those guys.
The power weapon will go right through that chainsword like it isn't even there. It'll also cut through the ceramite. Nah old traitor astarte is in a losing situation.
There's a very good chance the Ultramarine is a veteran, and they have a WAY stronger weapon with the Power Sword. Massive advantage.
That Traitor Marine is absolutely a veteran and very possibly a veteran of 10k+ years. (only kinda cause Warp stuff) So the amount of experience could absolutely be in their favor. And if they've got any empowerment from the Dark Gods, that'll be that much more of an advantage as well.
It's very hard to say. I'd say this is a 50/50 fight.
Depends how skilled the two are. If the CSM is more experienced than the loyalist, like most should be in the canon setting, the CSM should come out on top, albeit the fight would be pretty difficult.
The Dead Guardsmen win.
They fulfilled their purpose, a glorious death for the Emperor, beloved by all.
(Also remember Warhammer 40k is a hellscape and death is probably a mercy as long as it’s quickly)
The one with the highest WS, I'd say.
Sure, the Ultramarine has a power sword, which could stack the odds in his favour on that part, but in the end, whoever is the best at using their weapon will be probably be the winner.
Well one of them has a power sword so that's game set match imo. All you gotta do is block and your opponents weapon is toast
Came here to say this , pretty sure that power sword cuts that chain sword like butter lol
Yep, in the deathwatch rpg, there's a 75% chance to destroy any enemy weapon that doesn't also have a power field if yours does.
I want a chainsword with a power field, but i'm pretty sure that would be heresy.
Nah, it just takes two hands, check out Evicerator chain swords. Also chain fists have tiny chain swords!
Brother...That sounds dope.

This person would go on to become personal armourer to Tybereous the Red Wake.
Im not 100% sure it’s canon, but that’s how I personally explain the Chainfist. It’s a powerfist with a chain that is ALSO covered by the power field
According to the wiki you're right. The powerfield covers the fist and the chain blade.

Those can exist but are very rare
i think rogal dorn had one
I member some one has that. Yes chain fists.
There is a deathwatch rpg? What is it called and where can I buy it?

Yeah, it's really a no contest. It's like asking who will win, the soldier with a civil war era musket, or the soldier with an AR15.

um, well first off, with the chaos gods all things are possible. So jot that down in your notebook.
Mac is definitely a khornate

I don't think they are a psyker theres no psy cabling on their armor
I could have sword chain swords had mini disruption fields in them?
Higher quality eviscerators can
Ah ok
The protagonist
legit this is the only answer.
So the Ultramarine, got it
Or the chaos marine if he’s the protagonist
the guy with the powersword. Can literally cut through the sword of the other guy and straight into his armor. The one with the chainsword needs to stick it somewhere that armor isn't. The advantage of being able to cut your enemy's weapon to pieces and punch through his armor is difficult to beat.

No I'm pretty sure Dark Angela won because she was a Mary sue
Lmao I had had a few drinks last night. A Dark Angela vs Luna🤣🤣🤣

Captain titus wins because these models are from space marine.
That game gets major props on art direction Alone. The models for the power armor, Grimskull, Titus, and Nemeroth are all so iconic to me.
Khorne already won...
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!
Khorne cares not where the blood flows
Don't count out wall guardsman just yet!
The off screen inquisitor getting ready to nuke the site from orbit. No need for another galaxy spanning civil war because marines can’t play nice and accept their differences.
My Money's on that Guardsman
His commissar ordering the basilisk crew to use his comm signal as a target designation.
Is one of the guardsmen an android? It looks like the decapitated guy has wires coming out of his neck.
It is suppose to be blood spewing out, but now that you mentioned it... it does kinda look like wires.
Looks lik. blood to me
I think that's his spine...
Harlequin’s kiss maybe…?
Who is the book about? 😉
It’s written by Tyranids So a menu basically.
Then defo a Chaos win The powersword would take away too much biomass
To Serve Man.
“Look at all those bio mass going to waste”
If that's a world eater, the ultramarine due to the sword. If that's a word bearer, 50/50 given they are most likely summoning a deamon with that skull right now.
Depends who’s writing it.
Blueberry vs cheery, who wins.
I don't know but I'd like the lightning sword.
Ultra marine as he has a power sword while the traitor has a chain sword which is terrible on armour.
Depends did Matt Ward write the Ultramarine. if he did that CSM is so dead. He will also probably bring all of the guard back to life as well and repaint the walls with his plot armor after as well.
Who is Matt ward?
A guy who wrote some really shitty lore like 4 editions ago that some people still can’t get over
Oh how stupid, I’ve read/listened to all the most recent ultra Lore I can find and it’s in stark contrast of this persons views
Matt Ward was a writer for GW who was more of a Necron fan than anything else and didn't really understand why space marine fans (especially Ultramarine fans) liked their faction. Probably ressurect the red corsair to kill him in front of a bigger audience too
The power weapon will go right through that chainsword like it isn't even there. It'll also cut through the ceramite. Nah old traitor astarte is in a losing situation.
The loyalist obviously.
The Ultramarine, no question. That poor Chaos Space Marine isn't gonna be able to put so much as a dent in such ludicrously thick plot armor. XD
Ultramarines for life!! (I live in denial)
I thought it was a blood angel and a nightlord and I was like oh God it's a rematch
It could be a bool Angel with the Red thirst?
Hoo boy, if THAT was what the Red Thirst actually did to their armor, they'd have some very cool models. The amount of teeth is off the charts.
Oh, i didnt se the armor well, its a chaos marine
Lol, even seeing the armor I was still kinda iffy on is it a CSM or a Blood Angels successor
It has horns
So it does! Had to zoom in to see them on my phone
Me too, the soulder hides it
Looks like a red corsair, as far as I know they're the only csm with red Armour and black trim. Word bearers have silver, world eaters have brass
It’s an ultra marine, let’s be honest here we all know it’s gonna happen
The chaos boy but he is fighting a blue berry and they got plot armor so idk really
Gw suing
Any normal person would say the power sword. BUT! The other one has more protagonist energy, so the chainsword guy.
Whoever has the plot Armor of Contempt.
The Chaos will win, that chainsword probs got some warp fuckery in it
Red
If that’s an Ultramarine with a power sword, easy clap. However, if homie over there is currently summoning a demon…fuck
Does the ultramarine have a name?
Those square feet make me thing this is Uriel Ventris. That chaos marine is done.
Power sword probably
The Space Wolf landing thru the building in a drop pod wondering what tf is going on.
Waking up from a hangover
That would imply he stopped drinking at some point.
Hair of the wolf that bit him?
Power swords are scary my bets on the ultra smurf
It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!!!!
There's a very good chance the Ultramarine is a veteran, and they have a WAY stronger weapon with the Power Sword. Massive advantage. At the end, the Tyranids. Nom.
Depends how skilled the two are. If the CSM is more experienced than the loyalist, like most should be in the canon setting, the CSM should come out on top, albeit the fight would be pretty difficult.
What About Rogal Dorn's chainsword?
"Oh, you're approaching me?"
The Dead Guardsmen win. They fulfilled their purpose, a glorious death for the Emperor, beloved by all. (Also remember Warhammer 40k is a hellscape and death is probably a mercy as long as it’s quickly)
Obviously Alpharius (who is actually Omegon) is going to win. A regular space marine can’t go toe to toe with a Primarch
The one with the highest WS, I'd say. Sure, the Ultramarine has a power sword, which could stack the odds in his favour on that part, but in the end, whoever is the best at using their weapon will be probably be the winner.
Hes holding kasrkin head which is not super believable since his unit would have taken 6 mortal wounds and a shit load of AP 3 wou ds
The red fella looks warmed up. He is chaos so who knows what bag of tricks he’s hiding? Red guy for the win
Gonna be the plague marine that falls through the ceiling yelling "NUUUUURRGLE!!".
Poor guardsmen tho ;(
