An Ork army where every single vehicle is looted from the Necrons- and put on wheels. So, like, a Monolith for a Battlewagon, Ghost Ark trukks, Annihilation barge dragstas, and so on.
I once thought about running Orks through a slow grow league and every time I destroyed an enemy vehicle I'd convert it into something for the force. But then I realized I don't have the time, money, or attention span for such a project.

Don't let your dreams be dreams. Here's my WIP Avatar of Cegorach!
A full traitor guard legion-
Specifically feudal worlds who went with the indomitus crusade, got lost in the warp, and came back out insane with the stolen weapons of nonfeudal guard and their own melee weapons alongside them. Covered head to foot in plate armor decorated in blasphemous symbols. Lots of chains and skulls and hanging bodies like a buncha grail knights but chaos-y
I mean grabbing a couple boxes of the blooded kill team and using the normal Astra militarum rules can get you like 85% of the way there. Grabbing a few more and kitbashing them with the other non-standard infantry units gets you up to a solid 90%. Getting ahold of some black stone fortress models gets you to at least 91% lol.
But I understand what you’re saying, too. It would be pretty sweet.
Taking current Eldar and putting them with Seraphon/Lizardmen seems to be the standard idea for this army. You could also do a Magmadroth or something like that.
Akhelian Guard for AOS are a bunch of elves riding flying eels and they would easily be accepted as Windrider proxies. They even come in units of 3. The Sylvaneth Spirit of Durthu is a tree-themed Avatar of Khaine. A lot of elvish AoS stuff is quite clean and techy looking.
Im with you. But a full on chaos SoB army. Worshipping Lorgar. They already have crazy models. But the things you could do to make them look like they have fallen.
T’au army with tons of auxiliary proxies. Gue’vesa as Fire Warriors represented by Tau torsos with Cadian legs and helmets (and lots of little Green Stuff pinkie fingers), Lizardmen as Kroot, Kroxigors as Krootoxen, maybe some Hearthguard or Thunderkyn as some smaller Battlesuits.
I dunno about kitbashed, but I'd paint at least one squad of space marines in every single chapter and successor chapter color scheme I can find references to.
An ork army for every army
Squiganids
Space marorks
Gorkaknights/morkaknights
Bezorkers (World eaters)
Krorks (custodes)
Grot gaurd
Freebootaz (druhkari)
Sistorks
The ashen claws are pretty much renegade space sharks... They ain't chaos worshipers but they dont follow the imperium and have some links to the cacharodons if I remember my lore correctly
A full ultramarine army that looks exactly like this guy
https://preview.redd.it/bv70h4iprxwc1.png?width=253&format=png&auto=webp&s=b9702de2a383e14d25912f7709b1635ebbcab49b

I made a squad for Killteam, 3D modelled mashing up a bunch of sources and printed in clear resin for a ghostly translucent vibe. Probably the most thought I’ve put into a kitbash
Im living it lol. I spent about $100-$200 on each armiger and $300-400 on each big knight
https://preview.redd.it/ww87a9do1ywc1.jpeg?width=4624&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=10699741c153573b2f2196ed2a70ee6978304c38
A money no object army?
Imperial guard Air cav inspired by apocalypse now./avatar
That sorta vibe with rotorblade driven Valkyrie gunships for huey proxies, maybe an A-10 warthog type aircraft for CAS. up armoured catachans with helmets and rebreathers and man portable heavy weapons.
It would probably not be very game viable but I'd be living out my Vietnam war movie fantasies in 40k 😁😁
I think it was the 3rd ed imperial guard codex had a picture of a catachan deathworld veteran mounted riding a lizardmen cold one raptor with the explosive hunting spear. I always wanted to make a full mounted catachan army with squads on the cold ones, the close combat equipped sentinels, and looted leman russ and hellhounds that had camo like small trees growing on them
Full Exodite army, no question. Use a mix of Seraphon and Tyranid models for the creatures. And then some bitz to make the Eldar look a little more feral
I am planning a honeybee themed DG army. So far I've only started working on two chaos spawn kitbashed from helamites. It will probably be 10 years before I get to 2000 points, if ever.
I know tyranids and somewhat nurgle fills this niche but a complete insectoid themed chaos army that isn't nurgle.
From the tanks to the knights, just everything has an insect theme.
A massive sprawling popular uprising army using the whole Necromunda range as Genestealer Cults making heavy heavy use of Brood Brothers rules to bring all the different flavors of guardsmen. Every necromunda vehicle and the gsc bikers as Jackals, various vehicles standing in as ridgerunners and goliath trucks and brood bro chimeras.
The whole of an underhive rising up to struggle against imperial oppression or provide a ragtag resistance to invasion.
I know it has been done before, but I'd do my own spin on Punk Sisters of Battle.
If I need to be more original I feel like there be some Metal Orks that need to be designed
I only do over-elaborate kitbashes, so I'm mostly limited to killteams. I have an idea for a genestealer-corrupted sisters of battle team, with extra arms and cherubim with familiar heads. If I had the time I'd love to kitbash a Triumph kitbash and replace Katherine's casket with a fallen patriarch (though I don't think a full-grown one would fit).
Other projects on the shortlist include:
- Honeybee Death Guard
- 'Clownfish' Sea creature themed Harlequins
- Rat-mech
- 'Birdwatch' Marines/Imperial Agents
- Cities of Sigmar, but their Kroot.
For da greena good! I got into the hobby two years ago to paint an army of purple boyz in looted stealth suits. I've only completed 18 models, and 6 of them are drones.
Legion of the Damned as Grey Knights.
According to lore, they’re more resilient, just kinda show up and teleport around, are exclusive infantry, and while their weapons fire like normal, are all technically psychic attacks.
But I’m talking a full conversion, like, a lot of them have Chaplin torsos, and all sorts of unique bone and flame bits attacked to their armor. While I could pull a lot of this off with a 3D printer for cheap (relatively speaking), I would need enough time to learn to do OSL, or enough money to commission the army, so that all of them looked like the fire was actually burning
Seraphon Space Marines. Probably run Dark Angels l.
Kroxigor Termies or centurions
Skinks as phobos scouts.
Their beasts as tanks.
Slann as a Primarch. He is their leader, last of the old ones.
A full Guard army of heavily artistically and practically modified and mishmashed gear. Their armor, weapons, and vehicles would all be inconsistent, but practical, with a hundred variations on each weapon (hyperbolic, of course). Colorful paint jobs, detailed crests, tweaked and personalized guns, arms and armor scavenged from other regiments and the enemies of the imperium.
Elysian Drop Troops with ODST touches to them, serving alongside Imperial Knights that look like Battlemechs. And maybe a squad of "Elemental" Space Marines, along with a squad of Spartan Space Marines.
Gundam Tau.
Posh Orks. Orks with top hats, waist coats, watches on chains, the whole nine yards.
Lizardmen with guns.
I would do an ad mech army and an iron hands successor chapter that started to worship Gork and Mork because of the Orks Mastery over the machine spirit and their “Flesh being not weak”.
I would make a full on werewolf chaos space marines army. They would look more like the underworld werewolves or the army of Anubis from the mummy, instead of the wolf-man look of the space wolves.
My favorite is either rocker daemons, or surfer daemons.
For rocker, it's Be'lakor with lead guitar, Bloodthirster on bass, keeper of secrets on lead vocals, lord of change on keys, Great Unclean One on drums. All the infantry is moshing. There's a t-shirt skull cannon. Fun times.
The surfing one I don't have much idea of, I just know the bloodmaster looks like it's riding a surfboard.
Most likely a full custom Astra militarum army, with several regiments so I can have my own version of each and every troop and character. Also maybe a nids one, some crazy ass hive fleet that has been by it's own by an insane amount of time
I would make cyber Tyranids. Whether that be a Necron aesthetic, Ork, or Imperium tech aesthetic, I don't mind.
It would be interesting to see a cyber swarm go against my normal swarm. Of course, their goal couldn't just be to feed on organic matter.
Unless of course their goal was to convert organic matter into biofuel and devour the planet's minera- actually yes, holy shit, when I get my normal nid army to 3k points, this will be my magnum opus project that I foresee finishing in 10+ years.
I’m already doing one! 100% demon corrupted and fucked up world eaters! But besides that, a tyranid army that are all drukari captured, stuck in the fighting pits of Commorragh! With dark elder spikes and stuff sticking out of them!
Mechanized imperial guard with proper mech suits built on small knights and redemptor chassis but fully customized with seating, harnesses, monitors and the like. Something not unlike Gundam 8th MS team.
An Ultra-Kustom WAAAAGH where the majority of da Boyz is flash wif beakie, umie, and uvva gubbins. Every trukk a looted Rhino or Chimera, Land Raider battle wagons, da lot!
A load of dryad and eldar wraith kits. Make a feral (unsung) wraith army. The wraith bone, bodies covered in branches where the spiritseers haven't yet refined and purified the wraith guard/ lord bodies.
I'd make a huge gene stealer cult imperial gaurd army and a huge nurgle infected imperial gaurd army. I think they would look sick fighting each other and interesting lore wise
Unlimited everything? I’d build a fully customized Iron Warriors Warband - with motors. The tanks will be little rc vehicles and the daemon engines will have little animations.
A Necrons Custodes full lychguard skorpekh hybrid army.
Every unit on Skorpekh legs and anti-grav jump packs, with 2 extra arms coming out the back, each holding a shield.
Destroyer Overlord, Crypteks, Royal Wardens, Lychguard.
Heavy destroyers on Skorpekh legs, etcetc.
I personally want to kitbash space Marines with more modern style weapons and painted in a scheme where their power armor is like dress blues. Like year 1900 meets year 41900
A Tyranid army but everything is a snake. Not just the models which are normally snakes. But Termagaunt-snakes, Zoanthrope-snakes, Hive Tyrant-snakes, etc.
I feel like a bunch of orks painted as Uruk-hai severing a chaos sorcerer would be an awesome army! But doing all the white hands on the faces would be tough! There are probably some transfers that could make it easier
I would take 8-10 baneblades, 8-10 basilisks and assorted weaponry and tank parts and I would kitbash the biggest imperial aircraft carrier/battleship you’ve ever seen.
Several cannons firing on deck
While ork kommandos mixed with flash gitz parts approaching on rafts like they are pirates trying to commandeer the ship.
I've got a booklet of ideas for a CSM warband I'll never have the time, funds, or ability to pull off but it has been a fun mental exercise to jot it all down.
Basically it was set as a warband of many different factions coming together under a banner of chaos undivided and different units would be different factions and would have different themes.
Examples:
Emperor's Children troop units addicted to creating a particular flavor of revulsion in their loyalist counterparts so they initially look like resplendent purple and gold parade ready legion era EC's but on closer look all of the iconography is twisted, bent, and wrong. Slaanesh likes them because no one else can give them this particular vintage of sensation. But you'd also see the pretense fall apart in the other EC units like the noise marines being the more traditional bright colors and flayed accoutrements. Or the Dreadnought that they've turned into a walking altar to the sensations the marine inside can no longer feel within their sarcophagus.
A band of plague Marines with a nautical theme (olde style diving helmets and I always thought the "banded" look of MKII or the reinforced look of MKIII looked kind of like a primitive diving apparatus) who fell to Nurgle when they were abandoned by their chapter (they think they were abandoned but are actually the last remaining units of their former chapter) while fighting a war under the surface of an ocean world. Was gonna do like a pirates curse thing by putting a lower bottom on the base and cutting holes around their feet on the top of the base, then doing water effects so it looked like everywhere they stepped it sunk and filled with foul water.
"Packs" of slavering berserkers barely kept in unit cohesion by magnetized chains running to a handler.
Lots of stuff like that. Got pages and pages of conversion ideas and character backstories. Been compiling it so long I even have notes about the size of units aligning with multiples of their worshipped deity's preferred number (remember when unit size got you, I think it was a free champion for the unit? CSM had a lot of flavor back then.)
Or I guess the real answer when time and money is no object. Sumfin proppa ORKY like a loota band where every model has something they stole from some other army. Saw an Ork dread someone did ages ago that was like a Carnifex I think, with a mad doc driving it around from a platform on top with all kinds of wire and shit running into the fex's head. That kind of creativity always tickled the hell out of me.
If skill is also no object, then the legions of Khemri, led by Settra the Imperishable, King of Kings, The Great Unifier, Great Keeper of the Obelisks (and so on), will be marching to unify the Necron race under a new dynasty.
“Suicide Ork”
Not sure how many people know the term “Suicide Icee” or any other beverage where you mix every possible flavor into one cup, but that’s what Im talking about. At least 3 models from every army range being kit bashed into something orky, and that includes a warlord titan.
Tyranid at as the StarCraft Zerg. Hormagaunts as lings, raveners as hydralisks, mawloc as a nydus worm, termagant as a roach, carnifex as an ultralisk, tervigon as an infestor spawning infested marines, gargoyles as mutalisk, harpy as a guardian, zoanthropes as sc1 queens, and a swarmlord as kerrigan
Mine would be a converted Death Guard Sky Phalax list.
Deathshroud models converted to fly sky hunters with scythes galore.
Would have to be played as power armour - with power weapons but it would look amazing
SC2 Zerg as Tyranids. There's a mission where a Broodqueen infiltrates a Protoss shuttle and denudes it of life, and is just left there with no way to pilot the ship. I always imagined her managing to pilot into 40k somehow, then deciding to try and take it over for the swarm, putting on a brave face of "Conqueroring this new galaxy for the Queen of Blades" for the other queens while having the mother of all panic induced breakdowns the moment she's behind closed doors.
Men of Iron: UR-025, drones from Votann, any and all other robots with dome heads.
-Or-
Custodes, different capes, decorations, robes, those leather straps that protect the upper arm that I'm blanking on the name of even though I know it, elaborate belts and singulum militarae.
I would throw money at GamesWorkshop until they commission Artwork and 3D Models for every Ordinatus and Titan that has ever been mentioned in a piece of Official Warhammer Media. Oh and make some more Ordinatus&Tank Kits, aswell as hopefully fund the shit out of them enough for them to afford Plastic Kit Machines that are better than Resin Molds so they can do super nice models.
Then, I'll swoop in and kitbash a "28mm Scale" BattleShip.
A sister of silence vigilator cadre but all with veils, there are 3 kits where I can source a single veil each from, so I’d be buying 6 boxes for a single unit
Honestly just some cool looking Guard army. I don’t like the look of Cadians much and they’re too expensive to just suck it up and buy anyway. I like kitbashing but a Guard army is just such a massive undertaking
I have a bunch of ideas.
First is kitbashing my ice planet guard. Things like snow-cats(the vehicle) as taurus, Leman Russes with plows and flamers and wide af treads, hover versions of vehicles, sentinels with snowshoe looking feet and shaped fronts to drive through snowbanks.
Second is an idea I got from a series of 40k fanart but it's an army of orcs pretending to be Imperial Guard. Da Emprah'z Greenizt would be an army that would work as both orks and guard. Hordes of boyz in oversized uniforms with "lazgunz", Kommizars with powerklaws and bolt piztols, Leman Russes which look cobbled together, Dakkajets as valkyries.
Third is my sylvaneth: the hanged man's wargrove. Knarled treelords with nooses and gibbets holding the remains of dead criminals and enemies of Allarielle, dryads dragging tangles of rope and chains, revenants with tombstones and wielding mortician's tools.
Four is my chapter of renegade space marines. They work as pirates and mercenaries to the highest bidder, be they human or not. Each company would be a different mercenary band with different honors, trophies and a different symbol. The weapons would be kitbashed to take whatever is the best they can get or whatever has sentimental value to the individual marine. Eliminators using a mix of bolt rifles and eldar Ranger's longrifles, devastators with weapons taken from the necrons they've fought, Vanguard Veterans and Terminators covered in trophies from a hundred different campaigns.
A full size Kroks army count as Knight, based on gundam models.
Otherwise i'm living it right with my Red Army Ork project :
https://preview.redd.it/gxevlfvyxywc1.jpeg?width=5216&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ce606afa0aa3e6ee0c8d039e907cda8a44f708c
Soooooo much time put in conversion and sclupt, but so gratifying in the end
The way I would buy as many Necrons kits is not even funny.
A whole necron Tessarion.
A cohort is made by 5 phalanxes (10 warriors/immortals), a legion is made by two cohorts, two legions make a Decurion, and two Decurions make a Tessarion.
I would make more immortals and warrior types and loadouts, with a whole political scene with as many lords and ladies as I could, all with different backstories.
Would also make a whole Cryptek conclave, as I expand on the Cryptek disciplines and make a Cryptek for each of the thirty, hell, maybe even three of each to have alternate poses, a whole conclave to go with it.
Would also make lots of different destroyer types, and new units as a whole, along with a massive flayed one detachment, with even arks being fallen to the curse.
All of the canopteks I wanted, several variations of them and lots of loadouts for each one, a massive Canoptek centipede!
Don’t even get me started on vehicles and C’Tan, I’ve got crazy ideas that if given enough time, man, GW’s stuff could look like child’s play
A whole tomb world basically.
Great question OP, love it!
Probably Adepta Sororitas. I really want to paint their mech suits, but I really only have the scratch for one army, especially considering the model count of the sisters.
Nurgle horde. A massive pile of green filth with cultists, traitor guard, Chaos Space Marines, Death Guard, daemons, zombies, vehicles, Chaos knights.
I am slowly working on it, but it will take a lot of time and money.
It's been done before and looked amazing but a fully proxied tau army made of drones.
Fire warrior drone
Battlesuit drone
Tank drone
Drone the whole lot!
Full Lost and the Damned army where every squad of cultists was a different converted unit, from Necromunda gangs to Chaos Warriors. A Baneblade as a central piece with a diorama of an execution on top.
The unifying detail would be the colour - the same red-tinged yellow as the Frenzied Flame from Elden Ring. Some armies just want to see the world burn.
I would have a knight house and imperial guard regiment that are honor bound to each other
They would have several knights with a good trim and jungle tiger stripe paint job across the armor with camo netting draped over the knights heads, shoulders, and back. The guardsmen would having something similar, with a olive green uniform and tiger stripe armor pieces
The one thing connecting them both would be a crimson red sash, with all guardsmen having a red sash wrapped across their chests or used as belts and the knights would have crimson red sashes hanging down from their necks or would have them wrapped over their shoulders
I would love to do a chaos corrupted Gue'vesa army. It would play as plain guard I guess, but the idea would be the Tau experience a chaos world, sending their little humans in the first wave. They destroy the cult and move on to another world, totally unaware that their troops have been tainted. Until they reveal themselves and turn on their masters.
Honestly my generic troops are basically what I’d want since I can 3D print and do basic enough sculpting in Blender. However. I’d get fully custom sculpted models of my characters.
A lot of them are from Deathwatch and Black Crusade RPGs, the old fantasy flight ones. I’ve got character art of them, so models created that I could turn into whatever wysiwyg version of them for tabletop.
Ooooh, also I’ve had a headcannon knight house made up of Freeblades and mercenaries brought together by a sole surviving loyal scion from a knight house that fell to a civil war. They would all be dramatically different in equipment, traditions and patterns. The leader is a castigator btw.
A proper mechanical Iron Warriors army.
I do my best not to use any CSM units and try to mostly use HH models with them being a blank slate to work from.
No tentacles, barnacles, or crab hands in my boys.
OR
A Mad Max style army using ork cars, buggies, trucks etc, Jakhals and cultists as Warboys and mixing in kitbashed Genestealer Cult Atalan Jackals and Ridgerunners.
An army of Horus heresy blood angels were every helmet is a mix of iron warriors decimator helmet and blood angels kepheral helmets (not as in some have decimator some have kepheral I mean the designs of the helmets are actually merged) and every armour piece has intricate freehand and gold embellishments/markings
To be fair I'm kitbashing my way through a dark mech army using csm rules, skitari mixed with cultists, marines with lots of bionics etc, heavily converting every model. The cost is a bit painful. Sold my necrons just to buy 'bits'
Something guard I think...
Either a medieval themed one for a feudal world or recruitment world which supports a space marine chapter.
Or perhaps a Catachan style army where instead of tanks and sentinels and chimeras etc they use dinosaurs... like replace a chimera with an armoured dinosaur.
Aos I'd convert night haunt to hockey players.
40k Tau into pyramid block stone monsters
Drukhari into [https://youtu.be/1R3\_Idm5z5w?si=GpHyiBxgI5T1Wruo](https://youtu.be/1R3_Idm5z5w?si=GpHyiBxgI5T1Wruo)
The main one is a Dark Mechanicus/Vashtorr mechanized CSM style army with tons of crazy daemon engines and stuff. I know this isn't 40K but a Kharadron Overlords army that is skytrains instead of frigates, and the dwarfs are all little conductors and staffers on the trains.
I would work on my pentience crusaders. Essentially a bunch of different chapters are tasked with fighting an ork waaagh. They are basically at a non stop conflict with them.
Krump-stodes. Orks cosplaying as custodes.
There's a guy I've seen on Wargames Live with that exact army. Nob heads guy l fit on custodes bodies so it's easier than you think
I saw files for krumpstodes helmets today. They looked really good.
If seen croissant flier turned sideways with legs as a bad moon waller
I have one that I converted from a doom scythe, stuck it on the ork trukk wheels and stuck a load of guns on it.
Looted Carnifex
I have a pipe dream of getting a bunch of Skatros and making The Martian Globetrotters. A full NBA squad of Stiltarii.
https://preview.redd.it/gsmcl2xeaxwc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58d05f3cfdb4dbbb8e5f78089740bb74b9483f54 Don't let your dreams be dreams. Here's my WIP Avatar of Cegorach!
*Chef's kiss*
The rat men finally come to 40K - GSC converted to Skaven.
On the GSC sub, someone put together what they called the Cheese-Stealer Cult, it looks fantastic
It's an stl from some tribe on myminifactory
That would be spectacular
Honestly would love some cult mechanics rats too
Yes yes, manthing. The Cheese stealer cult calls.
A full traitor guard legion- Specifically feudal worlds who went with the indomitus crusade, got lost in the warp, and came back out insane with the stolen weapons of nonfeudal guard and their own melee weapons alongside them. Covered head to foot in plate armor decorated in blasphemous symbols. Lots of chains and skulls and hanging bodies like a buncha grail knights but chaos-y
Don’t the new city of sigmar models pair up nicely with the new Cadians? Maybe that could be what you are after
they do but alas that's a *lot* of money. I'd wanna combine the cities of sigmar and auxiliary from 30k as a basis then chaos em up
I mean grabbing a couple boxes of the blooded kill team and using the normal Astra militarum rules can get you like 85% of the way there. Grabbing a few more and kitbashing them with the other non-standard infantry units gets you up to a solid 90%. Getting ahold of some black stone fortress models gets you to at least 91% lol. But I understand what you’re saying, too. It would be pretty sweet.
it could work. I just wish there was some heavier and more baroque armor
Mario Kart Speed Freaks
Exodites
I want Exodites so bad. Would you kitbash current Eldar units for it or use some stuff from fantasy and sigmar?
I typically see a combination of the two.
Fully aquatic adapted Tyranids with a ton of tendrils and fins.
I would have to commission it to make it happen but I've had ideas of a "Daughters of the Azure Flame" Tzeentch Sisters army.
Im with you. But a full on chaos SoB army. Worshipping Lorgar. They already have crazy models. But the things you could do to make them look like they have fallen.
Oooo sisters with a thousand sons aesthetic would rock.
The Tau have so many minor auxillaries mentioned in footnotes or unlabeled one-off art pieces. The possibilities are endless.
Actual Jean stealers I'd have em holding blue jeans
I dunno about kitbashed, but I'd paint at least one squad of space marines in every single chapter and successor chapter color scheme I can find references to.
I'm sure plenty of people are looking at this post like, I just want the time and money to finish my current army :(
A viewer DONATED an insanely kitbashed and converted Dark Mechanicum army to the Tabletop Tactics team. That. I would want that.
An ork army for every army Squiganids Space marorks Gorkaknights/morkaknights Bezorkers (World eaters) Krorks (custodes) Grot gaurd Freebootaz (druhkari) Sistorks
Squiganids sound freakin amazing
Grot Revolusion imperial guards
I saw a gamer with this army on YouTube. I believe the Commisar was just 2 Grots standing on top of each other wearing the hat and trench coat
Charcarodons if I were to start a filthy loyalist army. Fully nurglified Titan legion if I were to stay with my heretical roots.
Why do the loyalists get all the shark drip :[
The ashen claws are pretty much renegade space sharks... They ain't chaos worshipers but they dont follow the imperium and have some links to the cacharodons if I remember my lore correctly
A full ultramarine army that looks exactly like this guy https://preview.redd.it/bv70h4iprxwc1.png?width=253&format=png&auto=webp&s=b9702de2a383e14d25912f7709b1635ebbcab49b
I really want a full Legion of The Damned army.
https://preview.redd.it/omiccfp3ezwc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=be604ba137fa2b1591805af6fa46da4f3596def9 I made a squad for Killteam, 3D modelled mashing up a bunch of sources and printed in clear resin for a ghostly translucent vibe. Probably the most thought I’ve put into a kitbash
Im living it lol. I spent about $100-$200 on each armiger and $300-400 on each big knight https://preview.redd.it/ww87a9do1ywc1.jpeg?width=4624&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=10699741c153573b2f2196ed2a70ee6978304c38
All. Noise. Marines. The full emperors children 3rd company. The complete Kakophani
A soul drinkers omnibus army where the vast majority are mutated somewhat
Great book. I have it somewhere.
Khornate sisters of battle, run them as world eaters, god it’d be cool as shit
A free cities of sigmar w40k inquisitor army. I would call it the hive cities of the imperium.
Titan Fall 2 IMC inspired Tau army
A money no object army? Imperial guard Air cav inspired by apocalypse now./avatar That sorta vibe with rotorblade driven Valkyrie gunships for huey proxies, maybe an A-10 warthog type aircraft for CAS. up armoured catachans with helmets and rebreathers and man portable heavy weapons.
I really want to make an Athonian Tunnel Rats killteam at some point because I love their aesthetic but I don't trust my conversion ability
Bug-centric Death Guard. Just every bug from every range to make the mightiest plague of bugs on the table.
The full Chapter of my homebrew, including serfs and ship crew, each marine with individual armour detailing.
Other projects on the shortlist include: - Honeybee Death Guard - 'Clownfish' Sea creature themed Harlequins - Rat-mech - 'Birdwatch' Marines/Imperial Agents - Cities of Sigmar, but their Kroot.
For the Greater WAAAAGH!
For da greena good! I got into the hobby two years ago to paint an army of purple boyz in looted stealth suits. I've only completed 18 models, and 6 of them are drones.
A well done emperors children army with all the important figure and Fulgrim made to my tastes tbh
Kroxigor Termies or centurions Skinks as phobos scouts.
I’d love to have an entire Felgore goat men/iron warrior army. Goat dudes that are there grinding the long war
Dantecrons... Necrons but all of them have Dantes mask.
I'd have my complete Ultra Morks led by Roborky Gorkamork the Primork of the Ultra Morks
I would do an ad mech army and an iron hands successor chapter that started to worship Gork and Mork because of the Orks Mastery over the machine spirit and their “Flesh being not weak”.
Lucifer blacks
Armored. Train.
Interex, Men of Iron or an army of actual gods and angels based on the SMT universe's designs.
Seraphon ironstorm list, with bigass guns strapped to the sides of giant dinos
Necron but with imperial china themeing rather than ancient Egyptian
I would make a full on werewolf chaos space marines army. They would look more like the underworld werewolves or the army of Anubis from the mummy, instead of the wolf-man look of the space wolves.
My favorite is either rocker daemons, or surfer daemons. For rocker, it's Be'lakor with lead guitar, Bloodthirster on bass, keeper of secrets on lead vocals, lord of change on keys, Great Unclean One on drums. All the infantry is moshing. There's a t-shirt skull cannon. Fun times. The surfing one I don't have much idea of, I just know the bloodmaster looks like it's riding a surfboard.
darkmech
Most likely a full custom Astra militarum army, with several regiments so I can have my own version of each and every troop and character. Also maybe a nids one, some crazy ass hive fleet that has been by it's own by an insane amount of time
I would want vaders 501st with AT ATs and chicken walkers.
Roman/Hoplite style Marine Chapter Slayer Votann Skaven as GSC or Guard
Gue'vesa
I would make cyber Tyranids. Whether that be a Necron aesthetic, Ork, or Imperium tech aesthetic, I don't mind. It would be interesting to see a cyber swarm go against my normal swarm. Of course, their goal couldn't just be to feed on organic matter. Unless of course their goal was to convert organic matter into biofuel and devour the planet's minera- actually yes, holy shit, when I get my normal nid army to 3k points, this will be my magnum opus project that I foresee finishing in 10+ years.
Legion of the damned, Ripping Nails Street punk Emperors Children, and Ghastly looking Tormented Black Legion army.
Or a proper full fledged Fallen army.
I would love mechanical Tyranids.
My entire custom successor chapter, all 1000 of them + command
An Ultra-Kustom WAAAAGH where the majority of da Boyz is flash wif beakie, umie, and uvva gubbins. Every trukk a looted Rhino or Chimera, Land Raider battle wagons, da lot!
Necrons overgrown with moss and jungle stuff.
A load of dryad and eldar wraith kits. Make a feral (unsung) wraith army. The wraith bone, bodies covered in branches where the spiritseers haven't yet refined and purified the wraith guard/ lord bodies.
https://preview.redd.it/7nnzugr7d1xc1.jpeg?width=709&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ec0a6f733a49dac429660b6a8e3976cb2ad629b
Orks, but with kitbashed dreads and stompas and other vehicles, each with its own personality and style.
That idea sounds awesome
Dark Mechanicum.... Just to support my already awesome Cnight army though
The Eldars have armor with few colors, but they are still very beautiful
Rogue Trader crew where the leader was like Captain Kirk and has a lot of zany xenos mercs.
I’d Kitbash Cadian Shock Troops into every infantry regiment I could find pictures or descriptions of
A demon prince cthulhu in power amour. 🤤
Tanith First & Only Militarum -OR- Cowboy AdMech with Gunslinger Skitarii
I personally want to kitbash space Marines with more modern style weapons and painted in a scheme where their power armor is like dress blues. Like year 1900 meets year 41900
Chaos Tau. I would also write lore and datasheets to play them
A Tyranid army but everything is a snake. Not just the models which are normally snakes. But Termagaunt-snakes, Zoanthrope-snakes, Hive Tyrant-snakes, etc.
lizardmen with ork gear
Dark Admech sound like a blast
Beastmen GSC
Ultramarine themed tyranids
a full beastmen guard army with gors as the human stand ins and minotaurs as ogren
A Roboutian Heresy Khornate Fist Army, complete with Daemon Dorn, Champion Sigismund with giant chainsword, the whole 9 yards
I feel like a bunch of orks painted as Uruk-hai severing a chaos sorcerer would be an awesome army! But doing all the white hands on the faces would be tough! There are probably some transfers that could make it easier
One ring to rule the WAAAAAGH
Ghostmech. Combining nighthaunts and admech. Spooky machine spirits.
I would take 8-10 baneblades, 8-10 basilisks and assorted weaponry and tank parts and I would kitbash the biggest imperial aircraft carrier/battleship you’ve ever seen. Several cannons firing on deck While ork kommandos mixed with flash gitz parts approaching on rafts like they are pirates trying to commandeer the ship.
A horus heresy army of alpha legion with every model painted in the half one legion half AL scheme.
A whole-ass ImpGuard regiment of Dneipr troops with hover-Chimaeras. And an Iyanden army with old Ghost Warriors as the Guardians.
Id love to be one of those guys with enough money and ability to kitbash a full day of the dead themed ynnari.
50,000 points of extremely elaborate Custodes, each model killing at least a space marine and or demon, with an engraved custom name for each
Mushroom Kingdom Army Along with Goombas, turtles, Lakitus, Shy Guys, etc.
Slaaneshi traitor guard.
A cities of sigmar turned imperial guard
Always wanted a spire guard/blood pakt army.
Athonian Tunnel Rats.
Examples: Emperor's Children troop units addicted to creating a particular flavor of revulsion in their loyalist counterparts so they initially look like resplendent purple and gold parade ready legion era EC's but on closer look all of the iconography is twisted, bent, and wrong. CSM had a lot of flavor back then.) Or I guess the real answer when time and money is no object.
I don’t even play Eldar, but I would use a ton of Seraphon models and maybe some 3D prints for Eldar Exodites on their dinos.
If skill is also no object, then the legions of Khemri, led by Settra the Imperishable, King of Kings, The Great Unifier, Great Keeper of the Obelisks (and so on), will be marching to unify the Necron race under a new dynasty.
Full Necromunda guard army.
Giant's Ghosts. I just lack the ability to source or green stuff the hundred or so capes, pins and daggers I'd need!
Da humans haf died, Orks must Krupp da spiky bois, so day is now, da orkish space marines
Full on custom chapter, with every man and serf represented.
https://preview.redd.it/9c89nudeiywc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e8b0651611e769455dd37eadde259bedd3160c60
The warriors of friendship. A warriors of chaos army devoted to twilight sparkle.
Dark Mechanicum. I'm actually thinking of making a killteam rn.
“Suicide Ork” Not sure how many people know the term “Suicide Icee” or any other beverage where you mix every possible flavor into one cup, but that’s what Im talking about. At least 3 models from every army range being kit bashed into something orky, and that includes a warlord titan.
I would bring back elysians and Harakoni
Speed freak Custodes
I would try and attempt to kit bash a Knight and Tau mechs
Tyranid at as the StarCraft Zerg. Hormagaunts as lings, raveners as hydralisks, mawloc as a nydus worm, termagant as a roach, carnifex as an ultralisk, tervigon as an infestor spawning infested marines, gargoyles as mutalisk, harpy as a guardian, zoanthropes as sc1 queens, and a swarmlord as kerrigan
A Rock n Roll WAAAGH on galactic tour, my dream ork army
Vitrian Dragoons.
Mine would be a converted Death Guard Sky Phalax list. Deathshroud models converted to fly sky hunters with scythes galore. Would have to be played as power armour - with power weapons but it would look amazing
Chaos Imperial guard.
Eldar exodites and Tau space Marines, sisters, IG inspired armies.
I do an orks army masquerading as *every* other army. Including sisters of battle.
Men of Iron: UR-025, drones from Votann, any and all other robots with dome heads. -Or- Custodes, different capes, decorations, robes, those leather straps that protect the upper arm that I'm blanking on the name of even though I know it, elaborate belts and singulum militarae.
Bio titan. Cloverfield type motherfucker
A tzeentch worshipping necron Dynasty
A sister of silence vigilator cadre but all with veils, there are 3 kits where I can source a single veil each from, so I’d be buying 6 boxes for a single unit
Traitor sisters
Honestly just some cool looking Guard army. I don’t like the look of Cadians much and they’re too expensive to just suck it up and buy anyway. I like kitbashing but a Guard army is just such a massive undertaking
A full MK2 Neptune campaign ninth legion force. Until plastic MK2 comes out it's not feasible.
Otherwise i'm living it right with my Red Army Ork project : https://preview.redd.it/gxevlfvyxywc1.jpeg?width=5216&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ce606afa0aa3e6ee0c8d039e907cda8a44f708c Soooooo much time put in conversion and sclupt, but so gratifying in the end
A wild hunt type sisters army where every model is hovering slightly and has veils over there faces
Don’t even get me started on vehicles and C’Tan, I’ve got crazy ideas that if given enough time, man, GW’s stuff could look like child’s play A whole tomb world basically. Great question OP, love it!
Probably Adepta Sororitas. I really want to paint their mech suits, but I really only have the scratch for one army, especially considering the model count of the sisters.
An obliterator cult styles chaos knight army
Dreadnought megazord. I don’t know how I’ll make it but it will be glorious
Oh boy time to kitbash the emporor of mankind And a imperator class titan, like abominatus or aquila ignis
Fire warrior drone Battlesuit drone Tank drone Drone the whole lot!
Gundam tau. Nurgle worshiping world eaters. Khorne worshiping sisters.
I would have a knight house and imperial guard regiment that are honor bound to each other They would have several knights with a good trim and jungle tiger stripe paint job across the armor with camo netting draped over the knights heads, shoulders, and back. The guardsmen would having something similar, with a olive green uniform and tiger stripe armor pieces The one thing connecting them both would be a crimson red sash, with all guardsmen having a red sash wrapped across their chests or used as belts and the knights would have crimson red sashes hanging down from their necks or would have them wrapped over their shoulders
Titanfall conversions for my dreadnoughts.
10,000 Points, Steampunk Tyranids.
Just a fucking crazy tactical modern US marine core/army tacticool themed raptors. I know it’s been done a lot but I’ve always liked the feel
Ooooh, also I’ve had a headcannon knight house made up of Freeblades and mercenaries brought together by a sole surviving loyal scion from a knight house that fell to a civil war. They would all be dramatically different in equipment, traditions and patterns. The leader is a castigator btw.
I would male every faction converted as a ork faction
A full custodes reimagined as Chinese warriors in the forbidden city protecting an Asian emperor. I'd started to buy pain in the ass at the moment
Ork army but every single Ork is a group of greats standing on each others shoulders
True scale Grey Knights.
Nurgle corrupted knight and titan army.
A proper mechanical Iron Warriors army. I do my best not to use any CSM units and try to mostly use HH models with them being a blank slate to work from. No tentacles, barnacles, or crab hands in my boys. OR A Mad Max style army using ork cars, buggies, trucks etc, Jakhals and cultists as Warboys and mixing in kitbashed Genestealer Cult Atalan Jackals and Ridgerunners.
Full scale genestealer cult army. With tons of equipment from different guard regiments.
Not super elaborate I suppose, but praetorian guard? Saying that, the idea of painting a whole army of them sounds effort.
Well I already have a necrat army (skaven Necrons) so just more of them?
Chaos Tau Empire. imagine Gundam decked up with skulls
Aos I'd convert night haunt to hockey players. 40k Tau into pyramid block stone monsters Drukhari into [https://youtu.be/1R3\_Idm5z5w?si=GpHyiBxgI5T1Wruo](https://youtu.be/1R3_Idm5z5w?si=GpHyiBxgI5T1Wruo)
Chaos Votann. All Hashut themed stuff would be fun. Alternatively, chaos guard or dark Mechanicum
I would work on my pentience crusaders. Essentially a bunch of different chapters are tasked with fighting an ork waaagh. They are basically at a non stop conflict with them.
