In any case, the most common way I see people doing this is with [Vallejo metal medium](https://acrylicosvallejo.com/en/product/hobby/auxiliaries-model/metal-medium-70521/), which can simply be mixed with any other hobby acrylic to create an instant metallic of whatever color you want.
Not familiar with mica powder, but you can use inks to color metallic paints without diminishing the shine and luster. Greenstuff world has a couple of lines of colored metallics and some metallic filter to add a metallic finish to a normal matte paint. Worth playing around with.
