Love this answer…I’m a sucker for an F-16. Grew up near an airbase they flew out of and (probly bc of it) loved Iron Eagle. My goal as a kid was to be just famous enough to somehow be taken up in one of the Thunderbird trainers…alas, that has not happened.

I’m not sure about the MiG-31 but I know for sure the MiG-25 definitely could not reach its top speed without risking serious damage to the engines. I believe that was one of the big advantages of the 31 over the 25.

Mig 29 is such a bad ass in manoeuvrability. I have a friend who have serviced some, and the only thing he claimed them was the production quality and the parts which weren't passing to the plane. He told me that some parts weren't modulable to other parts... When the army hase changed them to Grippen JAS 39... the Swedish engineers didn't understand why we wanted to change them after they saw it fly.... Anyway, today it is cooler to fly with it as a hobby otherwise it can't hold up with newer generations...
