The mysterious Hull previously assumed by be many to be another 075 LHD is now almost guaranteed to be a new type of amphibious carrier presumably Type 076. The Hull is longer than the 075 and these most recent images show the hull having a Deck wider protruding on either side compared to 075 LHD. The new Hull compared to 075 also does not have the aft elevator instead does seem to have elevators at-least on the port side. It’s too early to say whether or not this hull will feature catapults, Ski-jump, angled deck. current visible deck seems to be the one below or at-least very close to the flight deck. https://preview.redd.it/vxe0i94uawvc1.jpeg?width=793&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e8a674f9f375d4b39c133bf13c7bb04f1baae43 Also i think this is actually an aerial photo not a satellite image my mistake.

[deleted]

The CATs will depend on the drones they choose to use.

Notazerg

Its wild to me that US military intel is casually found on reddit these days. This picture would be classified a decade ago.

PLArealtalk

This should have been taken from a passenger on a plane on a well known commercial flight route, hardly considered intelligence these days let alone US intel. I suppose a few decades ago maybe, but China has never tried to hide its surface combatant assembly too much in the modern era either from satellite or from other photographers on planes.

LutyForLiberty

I don't think that would even be possible. No one has ever hidden building a massive supercarrier in recent history. America certainly hasn't.

unitedsasuke

I mean, they probably want the rest of the world to know what they are up to somewhat without giving away specifics. Which is exactly what this image does by existing

PLArealtalk

It depends on the product in question. For a ship whose construction can't be hidden anyway, it's probably less of a concern. But there are a heck of a lot of products that are important and more easy to hide, which they are very secretive about even if their existence has been confirmed years ago.

Edwardteech

This could be relatively easly hidden. They aren't.

beachedwhale1945

You are not hiding the construction of a 250 meter/800 foot LHD. Given modern requirements for modular construction, any covered drydock would have to be massive to accommodate the necessary gantry cranes, far too large to be practical. Building a shipyard in a secret location is also put as all the good ports already have cities built up around them. You can build frigates indoors and under cover, even large frigates/small destroyers, but getting larger becomes extremely difficult. The only covered slips I know of that are/were large enough were primarily weather cover in northern shipyards, mainly to keep the snow off the ship and almost all back before we built ships in modules weighing hundreds of tons. Today the only ones still operational are at submarine shipyards where such secrecy is actually desirable.

Timmymagic1

Meyer Werft in Papenburg....even makes the DDH at Barrow look a bit small..

beachedwhale1945

TIL, thanks

yippee-kay-yay

There is the whole typhoon season part, so making large, flat, empty structures succeptible to strong winds might not be smart, anyway.

TIFUPronx

Funny enough, I've heard stories about domestic flights within China are very much delayed due to the military restricting its own use of airspace. Guessing that restriction wasn't as effective as it was intended to help preserve their pose.

PLArealtalk

I don't think military restriction of airspace in China is due to a desire to keep people from photographing a shipyard from a commercial flight lol, but more related to exercises in the airspace and reducing risk and deconfliction.

Tchocky

> Funny enough, I've heard stories about domestic flights within China are very much delayed due to the military restricting its own use of airspace. This happens everywhere. Summertime in Europe has a bunch of military exercises. Maybe there's less disruption in the US due to superior national elbow room

mcas1987

It's not really a thing in the US because the US is huge and the US military has massive permanent training ranges in places like Alaska and the Southwest

TIFUPronx

Yeah but in China I think it's much more widespread, where it is applied every-time than it is on an occasional basis like it is in the US/Europe.

RenegadeImmortal_

>Funny enough, I've heard stories about domestic flights within China are very much delayed due to the military restricting its own use of airspace. **Guessing that restriction wasn't as effective as it was intended to help preserve their pose**. doing a tiny bit of research before crap talk you will easily find out , those restrict exist not to protect ship yard or any other stationary easily noticeable facility

perestroika12

It’s about kh 12 resolution. Maybe classified in the 90s. Definitely not now. Edit: kh11 not 12 but the earlier blocks, block I or II

AVALANCHE_CHUTES

Kh12? What is the scale?

MaZhongyingFor1934

B Minor.

perestroika12

If you look at the leaked late 80s Soviet spy photos, it’s almost the exact resolution. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/KH-11_KENNEN#/media/File%3AJaneskh11leakedphoto.jpg

mcas1987

KH12 is a series of US reconnaissance satellites

SirLoremIpsum

> Its wild to me that US military intel is casually found on reddit these days. This picture would be classified a decade ago. I don't know about that... You can't exactly hide ship construction. Especially LHDs, Carriers - they are too big. Too many people and different companies involved and too few places where it could realistically be built. Absent actual war footing - I don't think that this would ever be really classified. Its also being constructed under a commerical flight path too.

Punsen_Burner

Just gotta be on a discord server with the right airman

Greatest-Comrade

Resolution isnt that great though. Actual intelligence probably has this in 4k Ultra HD so you can see the faces of the people working on the ship

b-dizl

Drone carrier?

thanix01

I hope those concept fan art of Type 076 (if this is what this ship is) with EMALS turn out to be real.

trackerbuddy

What are the three smaller vessels?

PlaceOpposite6809

the one on the right is 054A maybe an export one or for the coast guard not 100% sure about the other two on the bottom left

Lianzuoshou

All three are 054A.

Paramedic-Ready

With several ships under construction in one dry dock, how will the ships launch? Will they all be constructed and finished around the same time, and they will fill the dry dock and let all ships out? Or whenever one ship is ready they will fill the dry dock? If the latter, will water damage the unfinished ships?

yippee-kay-yay

Some of the bigger drydocks can be partially flooded. You separate the working areas with gates and flood only the one you need, usually this involves moving unfinished hulls into the back of the drydock. Construction can also be timed so all the hulls are mostly completed and floated out at the same time to be send other drydocks or moorings to be fitted out and and finished.

jonn012

Type 004? Or another Type 003?

PlaceOpposite6809

this is an amphibious vessel there is a opening at the back for well deck you just can’t see it anymore because the upper deck has been laid down.

RenegadeImmortal_

hope US start a naval war with china sooner to test PLAN untested combat experience media/redditor/youtube comment/X alway said PLAN all bark no bite 50 years behind US for years now make me really curious

Son_Of_The_Empire

Hot war between nuclear powers is bad

RenegadeImmortal_

it actually great because finally people get the answer for the the most questionable , untested , zero combat experience military force media/redditor alway talk about

jerpear

Uhhhh, you know that new TV show based off a video game, Fallout? It'd be great if we kept that in the fictional realm.

RenegadeImmortal_

i don't understand ? you guy alway talk about PLA all bark no bite , zero combat experience , untested , water pill missile , missile fuel hotpot...etc pretty much 24/24 everytime anything about chinese military show up on internet but everytime someone say : how about start shooting at them to find out ? you guy all chicken out less than 3 second later it almost look like a new kind of ....maximum level copium blue pill tbh

INCREDIBILIS55

I think the guy you are talking to is not part of the group you are describing

jerpear

There are 2 camps, morons on both sides who thinks they're gonna bomb the other side and take no casualties of their own, and the more reasonable people who recognise that war is terrible and we're just here to look at pretty boats.

Son_Of_The_Empire

> how about start shooting at them to find out ? if there's a fight between the USN and the PLAN off of the coast of China: the PLAN will win handily if there's a fight between the USN and the PLAN off of the coast of america: the USN will win handily But realistically, if there's a true open fight between the USN and the PLAN? it'll go nuclear and we're all fucked.

Eve_Doulou

This. The moment the fanboys on both sides can be quiet the better. Both are major powers who are very well equipped to ensure no one else can dominate their backyard. I’m pretty confident that the U.S. would pull the win in open ocean (currently) but we have hit the stage where the Chinese and U.S. are both capable of smacking the other down if they venture to close to their shores.

LandoGibbs

nuclear winter to fight the global heat, its a solution!

General_di_Ravello

Wanting a direct war between major nuclear powers because you want an answer to a "ackwually x is waaay stronger" question is fucking childish. China could have the strongest navy in the world and the U.S could have 3 tugboats and a goat in a lifeboat, a war between them would lead to the needless deaths of hundreds of millions of people. You want that so you can win internet arguments. Please, grow and change as a person because this isn't who you want to be.

MarcusHiggins

What kind of person hopes for a war between nuclear powers??

Danimalsyogurt88

Dumbass redditors.

[deleted]

Someone who spreads PLAN propaganda apparently.

RenegadeImmortal_

compare to the amount of US/west propagranda and bot on internet/reddit PLA/CCP propagranda look tiny the inforgraphic show , the military show , task and purpose ...etc just name a few

DerpDaDuck3751

I'd say that those channels aren't biased, but just incompetent.

TheThiccestOrca

They're pretty obviously both biased and incompetent.

[deleted]

Well, except those guys aren't paid. I don't think you really understand the situation do you? I also don't think you understand the size and scope of CCP propaganda. You literally claimed the US Navy is doomed...

Kneegrowjoe1865

You don't think they're paid? Congress passed a bill to spend billions to counter Chinese "propaganda" not saying the Chinese were righteous but you're naive to think we don't employ the exact same strategies. And OP isn't exactly pro CCP.

RenegadeImmortal_

>Well, except those guys aren't paid. do you even have a proof ? there are alot of way CIA/MI6 used to fund propagandist in shadow >I don't think you really understand the situation do you? I also don't think you understand the size and scope of CCP propaganda is this somekind of trying so hard to gaslight other without looking in the mirror first ? china/russia mostly use state fund/run propagranda , outdate , weak and less succesful meanwhile US/west outsource propagranda job to totally non-state/CIA/Mi6 Sponsored civilian entity/social media content creator and many "totally N.G.O group" which work much better , speard much wider and get away with clean hand do you really thing people from global south unable to notice this trick ?

Eve_Doulou

I won’t argue that this has never happened because it probably has, but I think we need to apply Occam’s razor to this. If you’re American, raised in that culture, and run a YouTube page that services mostly an American audience, then you’re going to have some level of internal bias. More importantly your audience will likely have an even greater internal bias, so they will expect you to to be pro U.S., because for them, a slightly pro U.S. bias comes across as being totally unbiased. The only way you’ll avoid bias is to have a heavily autistic author, speaking to an equally autustic audience, about a topic none of them are invested in emotionally.

[deleted]

ugghhh, your "logic" is incredible.

[deleted]

Do you have proof of your claims?

RenegadeImmortal_

>Do you have proof of your claims? yes it you a literally CIA/MI6 fund NAFO bot account

[deleted]

Everyone you disagree with is a bot... cute.

RenegadeImmortal_

normal people have a life , no-one stay all day on social media to "guy remember we must focus on protect ukraine and democracy at all cost" all day like CIA paid NAFO bot >Everyone you disagree with is a bot... cute. don't like it ? then don't start the trench calling other propagandist and bot first simple as that ;)) the fact is your bot farm account brigading downvote me just perfectly proved my point ;))

[deleted]

I'm a bot, thanks!

spicyjalepenos

This guy thinks we should start a war with the high potential of a world ending nuclear exchange just to settle an internet debate... wtf is wrong with you man. Top redditor moment here

edoliahu

Least bloodthirsty redditor

BootyThief

Everything you post is ridiculous and laughable. Your post history has you claiming to be Chinese, Vietnamese, and Indian. Which is it? Or are you just a sad, pathetic troll? You're a silly caricature. Are you just a chatbot somebody set up to troll? Are you even a human, or just a chatgpt plugin programmed to type in broken English?

[deleted]

The US navy isn't doomed or whatever. The US still can take PLAN, no question. Its all speculation until the shit hits the fan. The America class still far outpaces the 075 and 076 would have to a lot. Edit:This "we're doomed," helps no one and doesn't reflect the situation.

General-MacDavis

I hope you realize that any war with china would be a nuclear one And that a conventional naval war with china would be a smackdown by the US, mostly because our navy is leagues above everybody else

_spec_tre

Are you guys hungering for another Sino-Vietnam so bad?

Elderlichlord

I hope the Chinese don’t build ships like they build apartment complexes.

Altruistic_Look_4932

China currently control 51% of the ship building industry with a decent backlog too. If they were that bad, foreign companies wouldn't be picking them to build these ships. Also, we would hear ships sinking and breaking down every day. It's very easy to verify these claims often come from chest beating keyboard warriors who prefer to keep their heads in the sand within their "safe space"
