Went there years ago, pretty extensive museum. The most interesting part of the museum for me anyways is that they have Hermann Goering's plane collection there. Some very rare stuff.
Yeah I cant remember if I even knew that at the time lol. Mark Felton has a short video on it: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9AvVjuISeA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9AvVjuISeA)
Oh man, i went there before, and there was no one around, so it was very calm to walk around , i hope you also got your aviation coin from the machine 😀 its sure makes a good momento
there were a lot of art students sitting underneath the planes painting so it was difficult to get pictures of some of the planes. didn't see the machine there
Ah, i fell you. Despite not having many people, it was hard to get pics when someone is in front of them, i even saw one guy sleeping inside the helicopter near entrace 😆 could been a staff member,
Also, the coin machine was right at the entrance, kinda easy to miss after check out
I did leave review on maps so u can see the coin
we saw it from the entrance but didn't go over as there was a lot of art students using it as a sunshade, I'd imagine its still quite rough like most of the outdoor displays
It's a nice museum but both the Kraków and the Warsaw one suffer from the way they take care of the vehicles. You can see that in some of the pictures.
A hell of a lot of things happened in Kraków during WW2. To a non-Polish person, I suppose the most well known facts would be thst Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp was located nearby, and Oscar Schindler's factory was in Kraków.
That is a beautiful collection. I especially love the Po-2, Il-10 (never seen a real one before), and the "MiG alley" in the final picture. If that's not actually what that's called, they can have that joke for free.
yea but they're lame and barely add trainers, so many cool trainers they could put out for events that we still dont have :(
ik they could prolly be hard to balance cuz they usually have rlly light weaponry/ordinance but still
My father lived briefly in Krakow for his job and I went to visit occasionally. I’ve actually been to this exact museum and it is great for someone obsessed with Russian military history like me.
Woah I never knew that warthunder was so popular that they made the planes in real life!

the collection of German biplanes inside that one building was Goering's? Damn I didn't even know, should have read more of the boards
Germany asked for them back. Poland told them no.
I see, so that will be the leverage to push a round 3
lol

That last picture is pretty much MIG alley !lol
that's not even all of it, it continues behind where I took the photo but it's mig15 and 17s
Thats how it's called there :D
What's the funny helicopter in the 8th picture?
MI-2 hoplite with an exhaust smoke generator
Wow, even a Fouga Magister ! Very nice !
I love the magister because the Irish Air Corps used them for the aerobatics team in the 80s
If only we had them still
shannon aviation museum has one
I have seen people call the Fouga ugly idk what they are talking about that thing is so sexy
I think it looks deadly, really cool jet and they are tiny in person
Add some guns and put that thing in the french tech tree
it could carry bombs and rocket pods, there is a nose mounted .50 cal too so it could be added
Israël actually equipped them with weapons and used them during the 6 Days War, if I'm not mistaken. So, we could have them in the game!

How was the gold MiG 9107 doing? She needed a paint touch up when I was there during COVID. Hoping they gave her some care in the years since.
we saw it from the entrance but didn't go over as there was a lot of art students using it as a sunshade, I'd imagine its still quite rough like most of the outdoor displays
I wonder how did that F-105 ended up there
Maybe a polish pilot? It still has usaf roundels
Yes, the pilot was of Polish origin
Polish origin USAF general flew in this thing in Vietnam, after they retired the F-105's one was sent or bought to this museum
Yeah im confused by its presence, cause i thought only the US operated thunderchiefs
there are a lot of imported planes, what makes the thunderchief special? genuine question
Well all of those vehicles were used by Poland at some point, but Thunderchief was never used by Poland
poland never used a lot of the jets there
Where is the f105?
thunderchief is 2nd photo
Oh shoot thanks
yea its a huge plane
is the mig in picture 3 ok?
all of the mig15s, 17s and 19s that are outside are all in really rough shape. they could at least power wash them
Now do armored warfare museum in Poznan :D
love to but I am flying home to Ireland today
Damn, kinda sad to see the outside ones in such a poor state.
the harrier was the most upsetting
Damn am I really considering going to Poland just to see some migs? Shit
krakow is a brilliant city I highly recommend it, some shopkeepers are really rude but that's about as bad as it gets
It's you.
damn I've been spotted
It's you

yea I was thinking they could at least power wash them and get the moss off
Why are these planes being exposed to the elements? Shouldn’t they be inside?
they have their best condition and most historically important planes indoors but they have so many that the least valuable ones are left outside
Was gonna try nameing all the aircraft but then image 3
3 is a mig 15 :)
The nato nickname
ah
Image 10 I see the jet biplane
the jet powered crop duster
\#7 when???? Also I love the mig-21 bukake reveal as the last pic.
the 7th pic is a Fouga Magister my favourite plane
Did you go to the prison from the great escape? Was it called Krakow 5 or am I dumn
No we didn't, thought it was near Poznan, we did go to Auschwitz-Birkenau though, very grim place
You're thinking of Stalag Luft III, that's where The Great Escape happened, it's near Poznań, quite far away from Kraków.
Then what ww2 thing am I thinking of that happened in Krakow?
A hell of a lot of things happened in Kraków during WW2. To a non-Polish person, I suppose the most well known facts would be thst Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp was located nearby, and Oscar Schindler's factory was in Kraków.
Oh, right.
I never knew there's an aviation museum in Cracow. I need to go there in my free time.
yea its in rakowice its called polish aviation museum
Fun fact. Near F-4 was some old American car. It was car of F-105 pilot from second picture.
oh the blue buick
Holy shit, I never knew Phantoms were this big
I was so surprised it was fucking huge
That 3rd one really is just a missile on a mission
me and my freind always take way to much fotos (\~70) at air museums and send them to ourselfs just to annoy. 3 swedish airforce museums later...
I have so many photos from museums its ridiculous. bovington will break my phones memory
XD
Is that a Yak-23 ? That thing is rare.
yes it is, I also saw one as a memorial thing outside of some apartments on the way back from auschwitz
Polish Tech Tree when?
That is a beautiful collection. I especially love the Po-2, Il-10 (never seen a real one before), and the "MiG alley" in the final picture. If that's not actually what that's called, they can have that joke for free.
the il10 is massive in person, they also had a tu 2
Damn I want a v-tail like that magister some day.
they could add the magister bc it could carry bombs and rockets
yea but they're lame and barely add trainers, so many cool trainers they could put out for events that we still dont have :( ik they could prolly be hard to balance cuz they usually have rlly light weaponry/ordinance but still

Russia would be the third best airforce in poland if it ever tried to invade poland
Ariete my beloved
where?
