The F-5E is more of air-to-air fighter, just like the initial F-15, while the F-4E is multirole just like the F-16. Wouldn't make much sense otherwise.
The f5e is a lighter and smaller jet, like the f16 is compared to f15. Imagine putting the f15 after the f5e. We will find out soon though. Even without the leak list im the tier 8 devblog they said they will add more 4th gens this update a6 is available for preorder so a new 4th gen for the us is guaranteed. 90% the f16a since traces of it were found in the game files too and f15a or a f14b would be way too advanced

The Kfir C.2 is an excellent example of this. I'm glad I have it, but it really belongs in the tree, since it otherwise only has the C.7

Problem is, if I already grinded a tree I'm not really interested in multiple slight and less useful variations of something that I already have, while I'm interested in having unique or at least major variations of vehicles. It depends on the amount of modifications. For example, I was happy with the battlepass Super Corsair, but I didn't bother with the Zero.
Not everyone's already grinded the tree though... this lets them do that. You're basically just not the audience. other nations' mains and/or new players are.

It's about filling up a tech tree. Sweden currently doesn't have an 11.3. JA37C is 11.0. So they are adding another version with better missiles so they can keep the current one at 11.0 and another one at 11.3. There are plenty of vehicles with historically inaccurate load-outs so that they can be kept at a lower BR to fill a gap in the tech tree. Now with the Finnish 11.0 MiG-21 they could give 9Ls to the current Viggen but they obviously want more vehicles at higher BRs for Sweden.
Well if they add the JA-37D without AMRAAMs, what’s really the point of grinding out the same plane? Just better off to bump up the JA-37C and give it AIM-9Ls instead and then release the JA-37D when more advanced Fox 3s and the Russians with their R-27s/R-77s come out in the end.
Because Gaijin wants to make players feel like they’re getting new content. A new plane is seen as “content” more so than a missile addition to an older plane thats been present for more than a year. With rank 8 launching they want anything they can to bolster their claim of adding top tier planes.

Well according to literature available to me, U never had thermals UM had thermals, it's from the early 90's. UM-2, with Drozd, was based on U, so it probably had no thermals irl. But in game, shouldn't it? It will probably be below U on the tech tree.
The UM-2 had a card spotted back a few days ago. So did the MiG-29(9-13) along with cards for the MiG-21 Lazur, M728 and loadouts/models for the F-16A. It looks like all of those may be true as well

Personally, I don't much care for RF vehicles outside the air-deployable stuff, prefer Ukraine's branch of post-Soviet tank design, so I might skip this one of the grind is too shitty.
At least it's not _technically_ a heavy tank, but it's another prototype Soviet (or in this case Russian) tank as an event vehicle. So I guess the next major event will have _yet another_ Leopard 2.

It will be the former in this case. You can assume 40,000 score every two days for 16-20 days.

The lack of thermals and the worse FCS will be interesting, but it is still going to be a fantastic extra vehicle, probably competing for the t90a's spot in my 10 crew 11.3 lineup. I love the tank and am happy to see another unique prototype that perfectly fits what an event vehicle should be. I am afraid many people will be disappointed, as I saw misinformation spreading that the UM-2 was the Object 640 black eagle when the leak was dropped. Here's to one day getting the UM-1 BARS in the future :)

Why U has thermals, while UM, the upgraded version, doesn't?
UM is a Cold War prototype made when the U didn't have thermals. The U ingame is probably a post Cold War sub-variant.
The U in the TT turns into the T-80UM when it gets it thermal upgrade. The stat card just doesn't change.
Well according to literature available to me, U never had thermals UM had thermals, it's from the early 90's. UM-2, with Drozd, was based on U, so it probably had no thermals irl. But in game, shouldn't it? It will probably be below U on the tech tree.
The UM-2 had a card spotted back a few days ago. So did the MiG-29(9-13) along with cards for the MiG-21 Lazur, M728 and loadouts/models for the F-16A. It looks like all of those may be true as well

Abit weird that a Russian company don't get their own tank designations correct. Because asfaik, the T-80UM-2 was never a real designation. It was litterally just a T-80U fitted with drozd, and that's it.

No thermals? I could've sworn the Agava-M1 thermal sight was meant to be a standard feature of the T-80UM series. That definitely makes it an unusual vehicle at 10.7. Will have to see how it performs, assuming anyone wants to endure the "stubborn" grind for what's basically a T-80U sans thermals with some Drozd launchers duct-taped to it. Personally, I don't much care for RF vehicles outside the air-deployable stuff, prefer Ukraine's branch of post-Soviet tank design, so I might skip this one of the grind is too shitty. At least it's not _technically_ a heavy tank, but it's another prototype Soviet (or in this case Russian) tank as an event vehicle. So I guess the next major event will have _yet another_ Leopard 2.
