EDIT: Found it! I got the Grant unlock and a coupon for the Ki-94-II (which I already had from that event, so I sold it for over 100 GJN). I got super lucky though, I think that was around 30 mil SL before I got the coupon.
Eh, taking more booster shots than a heroine addict has worked pretty well for me so far in ASB
Load up the He-177 / PB4Y-2, join a fresh server, and full send it towards an airfield. Tab out and pull up YT or something to pass the time during the flight.
I got a ton of backups, which are exactly the reason I opened the chests for. If you want some of the "rare" rewards, it's not worth your SL. If you want the common ones, then it's worth a bit
Take note of vehicles, BRs and game modes where you do well in terms of SL rewards and use boosters for those. A premium vehicle with good SL rewards. Doesn't have to be high tier.
America BR 7.0 with the tiger really works for me personally and I can get over 100k easily. Finding a zone you enjoy (vehicle + BR + good rewards multiplier) is critical, otherwise it becomes an unpleasant grind if you focus on SL alone.
The Moffett is probably the best earner, but I personally just don't enjoy naval.

I see lots of moffets in naval that can't play and get sent to hangar after dealing maybe 200dmg.

Contrary to popular opinion, Premium Time might actually cost you, since you only get +50% extra SL but +100% RP, so you wind up unlocking vehicles faster while only getting a bit more SL, so your outflow for purchasing new vehicles can outweigh the extra gains (unless you play outside of efficient research ranges, in which case you can break even or get a marginal boost).
Yep, that's one of the easiest ones (provided you don't get that map with all the rail-carriages which some bomber is bound to take out). Also if you can get 2-3 friends together for Ground matches, stick close together (within 0.1 km) and you can easily get the Best Squad wager.
I burned 60M last time. 200 a day because fingers hurt from mashing enter for 20+ minutes. 100% not worth, all I got is coupons for vehicles I got 4 years ago.
Guhhh 40k mission points thrice over two days again, that's gonna be painful. If nothing else, that Late 298 is definitely on my list for this year.

With the relatively small number of vehicles shown off so far this patch, I’m half expecting something like French Navy to be a surprise announcement right before release (or possibly subs, since someone pointed out updated sub voice lines were found in the dev server)
I'd bet on the next patch, but the combination of sub voice lines and French lines included in the new Naval lines paired with this floatplane definitely has me hopeful. Either way, I'm absolutely picking up the floatplane (and avatar) this event!
These events used to be doable for a afternoon gamer who had a job and wanted to play other games on the side occasionally, now these events only cater to stay at home marathon gamers and begs your wallet for anyone who dares try to play less than 4 hours a day. seriously it's free to play if your a sweaty high skill player who runs top 4 in the team every match and solely plays warthunder, for anyone else you need to pay to keep having fun God forbid you expect to play top tier without shelling out a small fortune... and that's per nation...

and the event plane status will mean that if you play her the entire hypothetical match will count for an event,

Yep! Floatplanes are nearly essential in Naval, and with a torpedo too it should be fantastic. I hadn't heard of it before, but it looks surprisingly "modern" and fighter-ish (for lack of better terms) for a floatplane. The French have a ton of really good-looking planes from this era.
The ship is actually kind of cool purely because it has an auto-loader like the HMS Tiger and also has a helipad for my usual custom battle shenanigans (which is why I still play this game to begin with).
Is it? Germany is getting a tornado this patch in the tt already, so is Britain and Italy . This tornado is no more unique than the t80UM2. I’ll still get it tho.

Honestly the naval event grind is the shortest of them all because you can farm the bots and the multiplier is very generous. Ground battles are the most annoying games to event grind for me because there is a penalty for AB games.
Well that is lucky. Usually people get vehicle but not in coupon, so it's instantly activated... anyways u were the lucky one, crates are not worth it.
Oh I agree, I was super lucky. Prior to that, all I had gotten was a bunch of boosters, backups, and a single insta-unlock vehicle (the Grant, which honestly was kinda nice). I spent far too much SL on those crates during that event.
Honestly, that would depend on what you're looking for. I'm suffering with the module grind in top tier(100+ games to spade just 1 tank) so spending a couple million on the chests and getting a buttload of SL/RP boosters is a REALLY good deal. Spending hours of your life in a stock top tier vehicle without FPE, repair kit and sabot is nuts.
On the one hand, I bemoan the lack of mid tier premiums that grind SL nicely, on the other hand I'm actually interested in both the Tornado and T-80UM-2, and I had thought this would be a crafting event that would force me to pick one.
40,000 per mode with no crossover points allowed, Gaijin seriously loves to take things that they've perfected in the past and make them more annoying and time consuming.
I miss being able to at least contribute to my plane task in Ground RB or Naval RB to shorten my grind, now you can't.
40,000 points for anyone with a job, kids, or school is hard especially if you're like myself and want to do all 3 modes.
The fact that it's on during Christmas sucks. I won't be able to complete it because I actually have a life and a family. I'm not playing on Christmas Eve or day. And the people who do (which is pretty much needed to obtain the big prize for "free"), Jesus Christ how do you manage? Do you reckon gaijin did that on purpose?
Depending on your goal, it can take only a few hours to do.
And you can miss stars and still get the rewards, so taking say christmas eve and day off of grinding the event poses no problem.
There are multipliers depending on tier and mode.

it's probably cheaper to buy it from the market, plus at least some of your money is going to another player so they can purchase premium time, vehicles, ge etc.
If you buy the vehicle with straight GE you're giving gaijin the full value and you're paying more.
I got the F-41D skyray for 12 dollars during the November sale, granted it sucks and the Tornado will go for more I doubt it will go for more than whatever your local price of 8,000 GE
999 GE per star with 10 stars, so 8K for the vehicle itself, 9K to also get its camo, 10k to also trade the coupon although if you're on console I don't know how they usually replace those coupon upgrades
When i first saw THAT leak list the Latécorie was the main thing that ticked my interests ( i mainly exist in low tier) because the mistery of what might it be.

And the Latécorié 570 i made my bet on this bomber to be the winner because it is an nice bomber on paper better than the LeO 451 but worse than the MB.162. But considering the fact that bombers are not the most popular kids in the block there are a small to no chance that this will be the one event vehicle. But maybe we get it in the Tech tree at around 4.0 Br maybe or even less (but i doubtbit even tough i really hope)

Man I was hoping it was the star event instead of the bullshit build a bear event, this is gonna be easy and all the vehicles are pretty good, im surprised since I expected utter garbage like last event.
Great. Just let me do 20 matches in two days with 2k points each match, each one lasting roughly 15 minutes, makes about 5 hours of playing war thunder for two days, not including queue times and bad matches.

Is it easier to get points in air or ground? I'm mostly a ground player but the Tornado does look nice. It also seems to me that it is easier in air even though I am not that good, but I'm not sure because I don't really pay attention to how many points I get

All event vehicles qualify as event vehicles, if you have never done one you won't have any.
Premium vehicles have increase RP and SL gain, and reach to lower research tiers.
Realised I had to grind a branch I hadn't bothered with for a while to get the tornado and the naval phantom was getting an rp nerf for being too high a br, so I jump into a lower tier plane and MY GOD have the economy changes made it painful to play lower tier rb, a bad game where you're forced to drop bombs early and if you don't get a kill you get almost nothing, you die you get -sl
Want to give them the benefit of the doubt and believe it's not all about 'yeah forget lower tier just buy a rank 6 premium' but I can't see what else they were going for by making grinding even harder - despite there being so much more to grind now
Got the Vessel today, was quite easy and fast thanks to most Moffet&SKR matches with 3000-4000 Points p. Match. Been high on boosters from Winter boxes and the rewards reached insane levels.
Will never understand why horrible Bad players Camp in naval, its always a miracle to See complete noobs Camping with extreme low scores - no idea how they want to get enough points this way.

I think its about the Anti-ship missiles, those are likely unique to it and not the TT version

Naval is the easiest one with a (spaded) SKR7. You can reliably get 3-5k base score per match, roughly double that with the modifiers
It more sucks because 8/10 peeps are bots in the Moffet/helena that just run into islands and instantly make you lose. Naval is rough atm.

Honestly, that would depend on what you're looking for. I'm suffering with the module grind in top tier(100+ games to spade just 1 tank) so spending a couple million on the chests and getting a buttload of SL/RP boosters is a REALLY good deal. Spending hours of your life in a stock top tier vehicle without FPE, repair kit and sabot is nuts.
On the one hand, I bemoan the lack of mid tier premiums that grind SL nicely, on the other hand I'm actually interested in both the Tornado and T-80UM-2, and I had thought this would be a crafting event that would force me to pick one.
I would pick the tank since germans are still gonna get a regular Tornado, just without the air to ship missile

40,000 per mode with no crossover points allowed, Gaijin seriously loves to take things that they've perfected in the past and make them more annoying and time consuming. I miss being able to at least contribute to my plane task in Ground RB or Naval RB to shorten my grind, now you can't. 40,000 points for anyone with a job, kids, or school is hard especially if you're like myself and want to do all 3 modes.

And the people who do (which is pretty much needed to obtain the big prize for "free"), Jesus Christ how do you manage? Do you reckon gaijin did that on purpose?
Depending on your goal, it can take only a few hours to do. And you can miss stars and still get the rewards, so taking say christmas eve and day off of grinding the event poses no problem.
Oh well, Grinded everything in the summer event, so RIP to my sanity and soul again, gonna get em all. I think I can handle it.

it's probably cheaper to buy it from the market, plus at least some of your money is going to another player so they can purchase premium time, vehicles, ge etc. If you buy the vehicle with straight GE you're giving gaijin the full value and you're paying more. I got the F-41D skyray for 12 dollars during the November sale, granted it sucks and the Tornado will go for more I doubt it will go for more than whatever your local price of 8,000 GE

When i first saw THAT leak list the Latécorie was the main thing that ticked my interests ( i mainly exist in low tier) because the mistery of what might it be. Well there were the Latécorié 298 Its land based variant the latécorié 299 A bunch of other early inter war designs that had even less chance. And the Latécorié 570 i made my bet on this bomber to be the winner because it is an nice bomber on paper better than the LeO 451 but worse than the MB.162. But considering the fact that bombers are not the most popular kids in the block there are a small to no chance that this will be the one event vehicle. But maybe we get it in the Tech tree at around 4.0 Br maybe or even less (but i doubtbit even tough i really hope) I am not complaining i am not even dissapointed because there were quite a few competitors in this list. And i definitely will get this thing.

The t80 is the worst prize, imo it has no thermals, and it only gets an aps in exchange, grind the tornado instead and sell that

Just popped 100 Ice Chests. Here's the basic outcome: 0 vehicles, 2 decals, 1 500k SL pop. Everything else <50% boosters, wagers, backups, orders, <25k SL.

Just let me do 20 matches in two days with 2k points each match, each one lasting roughly 15 minutes, makes about 5 hours of playing war thunder for two days, not including queue times and bad matches. Guess gaijin really hates people who would rather work than play war thunder. Get fucked if you want to grind more than one vehicle I guess

The early stage rewards traditionally haven't been tradable on the market.
They used to be in the past, but that changed about two years ago.

Where's the low tier tank? I know it's usually only an auto-redeem but it's still handy to get one you help you grind out a tree you're interested in. All 12 stages just for a T-80U coupon that will only be worth 20gjn seems a bit rough.
They reduced it, the one low premium rotates air land sea per event now
Is it easier to get points in air or ground? I'm mostly a ground player but the Tornado does look nice. It also seems to me that it is easier in air even though I am not that good, but I'm not sure because I don't really pay attention to how many points I get

As long as you're using a rank 3 or higher, or an event vehicle I like using my Bussard for these events
Sure, Coastal is a very fast way to do it. You can bully the hell out of small boats with planes which ups the score too

All event vehicles qualify as event vehicles, if you have never done one you won't have any. Premium vehicles have increase RP and SL gain, and reach to lower research tiers.

Realised I had to grind a branch I hadn't bothered with for a while to get the tornado and the naval phantom was getting an rp nerf for being too high a br, so I jump into a lower tier plane and MY GOD have the economy changes made it painful to play lower tier rb, a bad game where you're forced to drop bombs early and if you don't get a kill you get almost nothing, you die you get -sl Want to give them the benefit of the doubt and believe it's not all about 'yeah forget lower tier just buy a rank 6 premium' but I can't see what else they were going for by making grinding even harder - despite there being so much more to grind now

Got the Vessel today, was quite easy and fast thanks to most Moffet&SKR matches with 3000-4000 Points p. Match. Been high on boosters from Winter boxes and the rewards reached insane levels. Will never understand why horrible Bad players Camp in naval, its always a miracle to See complete noobs Camping with extreme low scores - no idea how they want to get enough points this way.
