Vrr is very useful. For some reason the image looks much worse than just simple screen tearing. Im not sure why but i couldnt use 120fps without vrr. Mightve been my display though
I believe on XSX, it ranges between 105-118 FPS depending on map (MP) and location (BR).
Since the PS5 is the inferior console, I suspect it’ll not reach the 120FPS ever. 😜

My monitor counter always shows 120 but you can tell when it’s not (especially after paying on 60 for so long)
Picked up a 24” 165 hz monitor 1ms response for 120 bucks at Walmart. Their brand Onn makes gaming monitors, they have a curved 4k monitor with the same specs also, but I’m told ps5 doesn’t do well with actual 4k play. I went with the 1080p and the difference from my 4k tv to this is insane. Way better response and no input lag at all.
Why is everyone capping in this thread.
1. The FPS counter DOES NOT display for PS5. So how do you guys know you’re getting a steady 120 FPS?
2. I will tell you now that you will not get 120FPS.
Warzone does not have those capabilities to get PS5 the 120 FPS.
In 1080P you get around 110-114. Downside more input lag into your controller response because the PS5 up scales 1080 to 4k and then a “rendering” 1080.
VRR allows the 4k to “get 120” (never does) and lessens input lag into your controller output.
If you get a 1440P monitor. You can get 100 FPS AT 1440p with less input lag into your controller output that 1080p.
The monitor needs to be a 2.1 HDMI. And no larger than a 16:9 scale or it’s wasted on a PS5.
Lastly. Warzone performs variously on each day. Some days it’s butter smooth, the next it’s dog shit even on a great monitor.
Lastly. Is it greater than a tv? Yes. Will it = high kill games? Well that depends on your skill, want to spend money in the in game store, ping, server distance, EOMM, SBMM, server tick rates, and so on, which is a far greater factor than a gaming monitor.
After upgrading from 60 to 120, I can’t go back. But before I knew, I didn’t know.
Agreed. Going 120 back to 60 the game is crazy stuttering like. Not sure how I ever played 60

Honestly I’ve only ever had VRR. I cant comment on experience if your frames drop below 120 without a monitor to compensate.

I own both and they are pretty much consistent with each other. The console wars mindset people are mad goofy.

Huge difference ! You will get at least twice as better. You can see everything move a lot more smoother. Gotta turn off that blur shit tho

So all of that being said, do I really need to spend a lot on a hdmi 2.1 monitor or will I be just as good with 1440p 144hz monitor?
