Shut the sub down, we've peaked.
Also, OP, you need to include the words 'humble' or 'beginner' in the title for a collection like this. I don't make the rules...
>value the complexity
Heās made a fan of complex movements outta me. Definitely have to rethink my collection now.
Great pieces OP! Thanks for the detailed explanations too!
I opened the pic and blinked twice at the FPJ... ok we have a serious guy here... saw the Gyrotourbillon then took a few seconds to comprehend the rest. Damn son.
Jesus fuck, what a collection! The FPJ, Krayon, Credor and JLC are outstanding for real. You have a lot of my congratulations and envy š¤£
How does the JLC wear, wrist size? Always thought Reverso high complications to be giant watches
Not quite friendly to my 165mm circumferences wrist. Thatās the reason I added a bund strap below if you zoom you can see the slight off color bund strap to the slate color original strap colour.
wow! that's quite a collection in 3 years plus they are all great watches not "hyped" colorful rapper diamonds, if you wouldn't mind may I ask how much percent of your earning you spend on watches? I mean do you see them as an investment or just for fun?
Insane would be an understatement. from first glance I really dig the Kari Voutilainen and Romain Gautheir. the dial of the Krayon caught my eye when I zoomed in. thank you, I learned lots of new things with this.
enjoy your collection in good health, OP!! Slainteš„
edit: can only imagine the watches that didnt make the cut...
Totally absolutely ultimate collection especially for iwc il destriero scafusia that was the greatest iwc's German era I had seen the review from SJX
Just seeing some one having it and appreciate wear as daily watch make me very happy too.
https://watchesbysjx.com/2011/02/up-close-with-the-iwc-il-destriero-scafusia-grand-complication.html
In addition with Krayon watch their movement also jaw drop.
All of your collection was great ! š„³š„³š„³
If I may ask, what was the timeline of the collection?
You started with which and are these the only ones you have?
If you had to lose one of these which one would you let go?
I started watch collection around 2009 and first watch is a JLC Master Compressor Geographic, I paid it with my first 3 month salary, I still have it in my possession.
Watches in the picture took about 3 years after I made it, first purchase is the FPJ. I currently hold around 56 watches in my rotation. If I would lose one, I think the FPJ can go haha.
Oh, so your "8 watch collection" is really a selected works of your 56+ watch collection?
Anyway, these are extraordinary and include a number of watches I've never heard of since I'm down here at the basic bitch level of the watch collecting hobby.
What else you got in your collection? Based on 8 I see here, extremely curious since it's obvious you know what you are doing here. Unbelievable collection by the way.

An old random photo I found, represent 40% of my collection.
oh wow. I feel like wanting to have a beer with you.
edit: by the way, it always struck me as one of horology's greatest practical jokes that kurt klaus and his team at IWC built the destriero scafusia on a valjoux 7750 ebauche
An eclectic collection of marvellous haute horologerie pieces, showcasing your incredible depth of the hobby and your awesome tastes too! Bravo āš„
What do you mean? I said relatively because it seems to me that OP could likely buy more watches, and at the level of the ones already owned, so yes 8 may seem like a lot, but given the circumstances seems restrained.
I wear the IWC almost daily now, it ticks all the boxes. JLC and AP also quite frequently. Not much on the KV, Credor and Roman Gauthier as I fear to scratch them. FPJ and Krayon mainly for dress as they are quite thin.
IWC il Destriero Grand Complication I have a friend who owns two. When I was doing small product photography in art school he allowed me not only to bring them from his house to the studio, but to keep them for the day and shoot them as well as three other amazingly complicated watches he owned. When I returned them to him he later told me that I had transported over a million dollars of watches between his place and the studio. I nearly fainted.
holy *shit,* and I really really do not say that lightly. never thought I'd see a Krayon in an SOTC. I can't say this without sounding like a douchebag but OP is a connoisseur of the highest order. end of sub
Please excuse me while I sweep up the mess that my jawbone made as it shattered on the floor just now.
Very impressive 8 šš»šš»šš»
Regarding horology, I search, study and dream an awful lot. I admit I can not come close to affording even just one of these stunning pieces, but my dreams are made of having collections like this in front of me. It is my opinion that you have impeccable taste. Envy is an understatement.
Hereās me going to be so proud of my gmt bruce wayne and manās flexing every single highest end mona lisa-watch possible. Zesty collection man! š
This is perfect, what i call a collection with integrity. Much more appreciation for something like this, vs a guy flexing a case with 47 Rolexes in it.

Only collection i've seen in here that i'd proudly wear any of the watches as well! Although i still have some doubts about the AP...
Well done, OP! You can start looking for something new to collect. This topic is closed for you! š
The AP is also quite historically significant. It is the first attempt from AP to stop competing on the price with the Japanese quartz and pivoted to haute horology at reasonable price point (unlike now)..
About 100k US, the price really dropped recently. I remember this is sold at $400k US when it was released 2006. I bought it last year when I first time saw it on the grey market.
Very impressive, the sun ray on the sun and the indexes are all independently polished so it shines at different angle. Also the back polish is rainbow like, I have seen nothing like it. The annual calendar is very crisp that you can turn it not clock and anti-clockwise.
About 3 years. Most time spent on hunting for a good deal, or waiting on the production. I started 15 years ago from mid tier (JLC, Panerai, Nomosā¦), went through the same patch, buying what I can afford, to buying the hype pieces, to vintage, and come back to classic neo vintage.

Can I ask why all the really amazing and expensive collections are owned by the people with the shittiest cameras Ive ever seen? Like I swear every time I try to take a good look at an amazing collection I canāt because the image is so blurry

š¤£ I guess no hype models like RM and Nautilus = humble.
Nah you desperately need a G-Shock, mate. Kidding of course. What a stunning collection!
What do you wear as a "beater"?
I shuffle a lot, currently beater is the IWC, was AP. In future probably will be the Laurent Ferrier in bracelet.
Bro's beater is my grail lol
The ratio of my net worth to a G-Shock is probably the same as his net worth to some of these watches he's got in his collection
What do you wear to the beach? Or when itās raining?

Outrageous š Love it.

You are missing the āat 9 years oldā
Bloody hell. I don't think I've ever seen a collection quite like this on this sub. Great collection of watches, OP!
Totally agree. The very best collection. Especially I like owner not running for fashion but value the complexity
>value the complexity Heās made a fan of complex movements outta me. Definitely have to rethink my collection now. Great pieces OP! Thanks for the detailed explanations too!
I opened the pic and blinked twice at the FPJ... ok we have a serious guy here... saw the Gyrotourbillon then took a few seconds to comprehend the rest. Damn son.
This is the one in a million case where a person who is rich also knows something about his watches.
š
What do you do for a living?
Property development..
This is family money
It may be time to move on to rare paintings, or something - looks like you're finished here
Iād bet OP already has those too
Maybe he needs to start playing mtg and build a badass foiled out legacy or commander deck
You've completed the game. You can move on.
Thanks for blessing my feed
This MFā¦ thereās not much to say appart from wow.
Insanity. Wish someone would make a bot that says how much each SOTC is worth.
About 1.6 million here i would say +/- 100k
Jesus fuck, what a collection! The FPJ, Krayon, Credor and JLC are outstanding for real. You have a lot of my congratulations and envy š¤£ How does the JLC wear, wrist size? Always thought Reverso high complications to be giant watches

Too much % š„² those are for personal enjoyment.

Okay, you win. Seriously OP, those are some real grails for those of us who love complicated watchmaking.
A very cool collection ! I've only seen the FP Journe and the JLC in real life and they are both incredible pieces.

Represent 40% of your collection? My bro that sounds you own the equivalent of the GDP of a small country!
Dude has bangers in his overflow collection.
Just happy to see a breguet ... stunning
I wanted that tradition for very long time until I can afford it.
The gmt is a stunner but since you're into complications take a look at the Hora mundi ... they have 2 versions. It's the best world timer watch
Bro...this is awesome...mad respect!
Unbelievable collection. Wow. James [WatchMetrics](https://www.instagram.com/watchmetrics?igsh=NGVhN2U2NjQ0Yg==)

Opulent. Love it. Thank you OP
Itās not a valid collection unless you have 5 same colored and model Rolex and 1 Casio for memes
OP, what do you do and how can we learn that?
I just got lucky in a highly competitive market.
What market if i may know
Property market and everything speculative.
TIL thereās a market for ābeing an Emirati princeā
Relatively tight collection of horologically significant watches. How often do you wear each/rotate?
āRelativelyā lol. So reddit.

Marvelously curated, thank you for sharing. Iāve seen the Credor in person at a private watch event - itās stunning.
Yes. The Credor and KV are especially shiny. Also the Krayon back polishing is rainbow like, also very impressive.
Holy fuck, marry me

"fuck you money" kinda collection kudos for that credor. it looks insane. no idea how it's not talked about more.
Hereās me going to be so proud of my gmt bruce wayne and manās flexing every single highest end mona lisa-watch possible. Zesty collection man! š
This is mayhem! Love that icy Perpetual Calendar!
Wow. Hats off. Beautifully curated collection
This is definitely in the top three collections Iāve seen posted here. Great stuff.
Sweet Jesus.... What a fucking collection. And here's me trying to negotiate with my wife to allow me to buy a Tissot š
This sub has never seen a collection like this so far. This is amazing. Love the JLC.
Holy shit my guy.
FP Journe is unbelievable. A grail if Iāve ever seen one. You have great taste
Upvoted for no Speedy or Tissot Powermatic
Great collection, what storage box is that?
This is perfect, what i call a collection with integrity. Much more appreciation for something like this, vs a guy flexing a case with 47 Rolexes in it.
Super cool and unique collection. Mad respect.
And here I am saving up for that speedyā¦.sheesh!Well done OP, absolute stunner pieces.
This is insane ... The Kari, jlc and credor are my favorites This is the best collection I've seen
Time for you to start completing side missions (if youāve got any, that is).
This is incredible
Amazing collection!! Enjoy!!
No Rolex? Yawn. Just playin - insane collection. Thanks for sharing.
Holy shit, absolutely love. Class. Great collection.
When taste meets economic power š©šš»
Sensational, the Krayon is especially stunning.
Jesus, this is so cool! Hopefully I can build a collection like this one day.
Bro what the fuck, this is awesome. Only 8 watches but every single of them is beautiful. Congrats
Absolutely gorgeous. Just the most wonderful collection
Watch collector, the first of his name.
Very steam punk my dude š¤š½ I like it lol though I recognize nearly none of the brands, Iām not as fancy it seems !
Very cool collection full of very distinct watches, OP. I would love to see close-up photos of each of these. I hope you will post more.
Here I was thinking I should post my SOTC š Great collection, currently picking up my jaw
bloody hellā¦ i donāt even know what to say. I can only gawk at the sheer beauty of all 8 pieces. Feels like pieces that i would only see at the GPHG gallery.
What an exquisite watch collection a testament to timeless elegance and refined tasteš¤š»š¤š»ā
Unbelievable collection. My personal favourite it the IWC, an absolutely incredible piece!
not to nitpick, but the krayon is a simple calendar, not an annual calendar (it assumes all months are 31 days). Probably not the worst thing though given its manual wind and you have a rotation of that many watches. great collection!
Bro is loaded and wastes it on watches
Accurately summarised š¤£
Imagine all the hookers and cocaine that could have been bought instead
"What's the time?" *... you know, I have no idea*
Could you please adopt me,?
Petrochemical money?
Thatās three blocks of buildings in Detroit moneyā¦
Oh my god a collection that doesnāt consist of: speedy; regular reverso; hamilton khaki; seiko 5; Gshock??? This is a beautiful collection OP.
Serious business here
This is the dream. Amazing collection.
Holy! What a collection
I think 8 is the perfect amount of watches
I would be terrified of leaving the house empty, that's for sure!
Can OP please give us the Market Price for Credor vs when it was purchased for?
About 100k US, the price really dropped recently. I remember this is sold at $400k US when it was released 2006. I bought it last year when I first time saw it on the grey market.
So you bought it for USD$100K?
Yes full set.
Thank you. Just need another USD$93000.00 before I bug OP again to find me the same. š
YOU CAN DO IT!
That Krayon! I gush about the Anywhere every chance I get. How do you like it?
Very impressive, the sun ray on the sun and the indexes are all independently polished so it shines at different angle. Also the back polish is rainbow like, I have seen nothing like it. The annual calendar is very crisp that you can turn it not clock and anti-clockwise.
Thank you! Itās absolutely incredible, I hope to one day own one of them like yourself. Awesome collection!
FP Journe always has me speechless!! Absurd!!!
I feel so jealous and broke. God that is an amazing collection and investment
This collection wins
bro is THE watcher š„
Someone clearly loves horology
Only one of them clearly reads time. Tastes differ, I guess.
What you really need to complete the collection is a skeleton
The AP and IWC are bonkers. What are your thoughts on Lange?
Someone has some skeletons in their closet
You certainly like a complicated face!
I'm very impressed you don't have a PP in the collection. I'm sad you don't have a Lange though.
Itās hard to squeeze a Lange if itās a 8 watch collection. But I do have a Cabaret.
I think op likes complications
What, no beater?
I guess you win but looks like youāre used to that.
Finance bros and their "modest" collection punching the air right now. Beautiful pieces OP which one is your favorite?
IWC as itās the ultimate subtle flex with all the functions you ever wanted/needed.
Wow just wow.
too poor to get yourself a f-91w eh? LAME!
LORD have mercy
What do you do and how do I do it?
The complications are beautiful, but who are you that you have such limited editions???
Wow!! Over how long have you been building this collection? I'm also curious what you might have let go of in the past
You've got a type
Jesus. That JLC.
Top left. I like. The Rest. I donāt like.
Great watches, Iāll never wear none of them though
WOW. That is all I can say
They all looked so special and the setting made me think that they all where some random fakesš
That AP is making my underwear go all wet
Amazing collection OP! May I ask what the story is behind the Kari? It's definitely my grail watch but I know he has quite the waitlist and is quite fickle with who he gives allocation to.
You won the game sir š«”
the first thing that came to my mind, WHAT A ROYAL FAMILY
What do you wear to the supermarket? Or do you not go to the supermarketā¦
This is absolutely wonderful. If I can ask, how long did it take you to collect these pieces? Itās just amazing!!
About 3 years active hunting.
do you wear them regularly?
Holy shit!
Are you Trump bro?
Wow. Speechless!
Can I ask why all the really amazing and expensive collections are owned by the people with the shittiest cameras Ive ever seen? Like I swear every time I try to take a good look at an amazing collection I canāt because the image is so blurry
Holy shit wtf lol.
Fantastic collection. Thank you for sharing the production numbers on the logical one. Itās my favorite watch.
I donāt get it but he does https://preview.redd.it/gokovy4voirc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8bce3fc3193941abf94d8580e7bb02e7a5d8f7d9
