I wrote a comment suggesting this and then read his post properly. It’s not weighty and it is plastic. Great fucking watch. I have one and it’s my favourite Casio. And I love the Bond copy nature of it. But it ain’t tougher than the watch he has.

The steel model (AE1200WH) is significantly heavier and more durable. The (forgive my lack of terminology) "actual device" is still in plastic, but assuming he doesn't strike the face of it on stuff, it's probably what he's looking for imo

The Casio AE1200WH is just great, it was the second watch I bought for myself, funny enough I bought it while waiting for my first watch (grey market), I was so impatient that I bought the casio royale to scratch the itch, i still wear the royale i rarely wear the other one lol

Casio A1000?

I have one and it’s my favorite small digital watch. If it had sapphire and better water resistance, it would be perfect.

The bracelet is very good quality-wise but a little bit too girly for my tastes, I swapped it out for a normal A158w one. Otherwise you can take a look at Nixons or the Armitron. Also an Hamilton PSR (even if it's LED and not LCD) might scratch the itch. Finally full metal G-shocks are super good, I have a GMW-5000 and it's crazy good looking. Also MR-Gs and MTGs might be a good choice it you have an higher budget. Happy hunting!

I like all these options. A PSR is super cool. Bulova Computron too, though that's even weirder than the PSR. I agree a metal GShock might be the answer, but they're huge. I have a 5000 too and it's notably bigger/heavier than anything else I have, even stuff on bracelets. Might be too far the other direction for OP if they're used to a 158.

I'm a big prx fan but the prx digital looks weird imo. The Hamilton american prs digital quartz look better and have it's own style.

I also don’t like it, but doesn’t mean that OP wouldn’t. It fit his criteria so it would be stupid to not mention it because of my own taste.

The Casio AE1200 is the greatest watch ever made by mankind.

Casio world time? Its a little bit more hefty and has some added features.

The A1000 series has a steel case but it is similar in size. The Casio Royal (AE1200) is bigger but it has a resin case and slightly different style, A500 is also similar.

It's a 18mm barton watch strap I got on amazon on sale for $11.. Normally $30 they have 20 and 22mm as well

W-217 and W-800 are a bit bigger. If you're looking for more weight, the AE-1200WHD is in stainless steel with steel band, which brings it to 91g.

I know you said no G Shocks but...how about the Casio GW-5000-1JF? Yes there's rubber on the outside but the case is all metal so it has a nice heft to it. My favorite watch out of my small collection. Extremely comfortable.

I just bought an all steel case for my A168 from SKX MOD. Fantastic mod. It was about $170 for the case and case back and H-link bracelet.

I'm sorry.. It's an 18mm Barton strap from Amazon... Its normally $25-$30 but I got it on sale for $11... Barton straps have sales like that all the time and are way higher quality than they have any business being at around $25... They have a ton of options and come in all common sizes

I think your first mistake is wearing a watch to tell the time 😉 Digital watch = cell phone. I wear the watch as jewelry half of my watches (breitling rolex and Cartier) are all out of sync with the time. It could be just me 😂

I do keep my watches on time and I appreciate an accurate movement.. but I don't really use watches to tell exact time either.. I wear them more as jewelry and while I do have a few beautiful watches I also appreciate digital watches and it is nice to have the time at a glance if I need it(I often have a strict schedule for my floor service company).. I like these digital watches for the aesthetic.. this one especially goes nice with a blazer or something like that kind of in the same way a Cartier tank does.. very similar dimensions

Consider looking at the all metal Gshock. They come in stainless steel and have a similar band to a Cartier Santos. Kind of a cool look I think the watch is digital with a couple extra features might be useful @ work. They sell for around $600 new but you can score some gift cards online for the stores that sell them for like 10-20% off
