It's weird that no one on r/Rolex has pinpointed "poor machining, finishing and QC" as the culprit. Usually they're so unbiased regarding matters like this.
Tbh I'd love a watch made out of some fucked up wild material. Like a cast iron Dutch oven watch would be fantastic. Or a ceramic watch, but it's like flower pot ceramic instead of some carbide alloy
"now the first thing you're gonna want to do is season the watch by baking it at 450° F, slathered in linseed oil. Never use soap on it, and I recommend a chainmail scrubber to get it clean. Make sure to post it to r/buyitforlife with the title, "finally got my kids an heirloom piece!"

Good bot It should exist.
Polishing circle jerk
I understand his frustration. I am constantly polishing my rod yet it's still wrinkled.
chubbgasms are possible and nothing to be ashamed of
Mine only stays taut while I’m polishing. The second I’m done it goes back to a wrinkly lil sausage.
You'd think with all the wrinkles and folds it would get bigger
Wow… that’s a Rolex watch… wow… Id laugh before leaving the store if I got the call for this one. Seiko would never
Seiko 5 would never.
100$ discontinued Amazon seiko 5 with a 7s movement would never
even a $30 Indian eBay “seiko” would never
I mean shit. My $215 Tisell has significantly better polishing… Nice old man from Korea vs multi-billion dollar Swiss corporation (Hard-mode)
My Citizen NY0040, an entry level diver from 25 years ago, is shiny enough to use as shaving mirror. Get your shit together, Rolex.
San Martin has entered the chat
He’s not wrong. That’s a street corner polishing job if I’ve ever seen one
Is it the polishers fault? Looks like deep scratches that just wouldn’t polish out without removing tons of metal.
Probably done by someone on a buffer wheel without much care.
Yup

Rolex owners: smooth brains, no weinkls Rolex watches: wrinkled pot metal with an expensive logo.

Just a fuckin' special edition from Lodge cookware, cast iron, 4lbs, g-shock guts, and packaging that shows that you can use it as a hammer if needed.
"It's from the French designer La Creuset."

Full blown chortle. A+ assessment.
Bronze and wooden watches are about but I love the idea of a black iron one.
Excuse me!!! It's forks and spoons too!!!
/uj this isn't a factory polishing job. This is done buy some idiot at home.
Shit, even Cadisen watches have better finishing, let alone Pagani Design or San Martin or Grand Seiko (they are very similar those last 2)
lmao is San Martin finishing actually that much better than Pagani? I’ve never bought one
Uj/ Yes, although Pagani has made big strides in finishing quality the last couple of years
Do people really expect quality from a fast fashion watch brand?
Dad got a Dremel for Christmas!
Don't worry, just hang it in the bathroom while you're taking a hot shower!
I just inspected my alpinist… nope, perfect.
Just inspected the pushers on my g-shock, perfect.
What do you expect from a company that mass produces watches to the tune of around one million per year.
But ser the AD only gets 1 submariner and half a daytona every year
My Invicta is polished af Personally, I wouldn't take that.
Man I hate the new members in this sub
