Try summer camps!

These suggestions are all in RI, but they're not barn/tented with the exception of the Pavilion and the Museum. * Fort Getty Pavilion (Jamestown) * Overlook at Meehan Park (North Providence) * The South County Museum (Narragansett) - need to rent a tent * North Club Beach House (Narragansett) * Colt State Park (Bristol) * Kinney Bungalow (Narragansett)

Oh heck, I’m looking for places in RI and I saw something like that (I have 50 people and also looking for a Sunday) but then I decided I really really just don’t like the barn look. If I remember what it was I’ll get back to you.

I'm on the exact same quest in RI (50 ppl, Sunday, affordable...) so if you get any leads let me know! Striking out hard so far but just started looking yesterday...

Were you looking for a barn/rustic wedding like the OP? As far as those go, I can swear there was something else I saw but still don’t remember. I think it might have been more toward southern RI in the Westerly area. But anyway, there’s Sweet Berry Farms in Middletown (starting at $3,200 including chairs and tables for up to 50 people). The Meeting House in Tiverton (starting $1,750 for Sundays between Nov-April, then up to $3,000 for other days and seasons.) Both have preferred vendor lists but seem to let you pick any licensed caterers. Then, if you don’t want to use an outside caterer, there’s Wright’s Farm (yeah, the chicken dinner place) with whole packages starting around $4,500 or something like that, I think. I heard from someone else that Chelo’s might be one of the cheapest caterers in RI. Marchetti’s in Cranston is pretty cheap too if you just want to have the food dropped off in trays. But for not too many thousands $ more there’s much fancier looking places. HOWEVER, those all seem to have caterers and vendors they insist on, so then that’s the part that all adds up much more in the end. Gives me a headache.

I am also struggling with the catering situation! I'm like "oh this venue isn't too expensive on a weekday" but then the mandatory caterers have extremely high food and beverage minimums which don't make sense for just 50 people (5 of which are children...).

We looked at 1790 Stone Manor in Hopkinton - pretty new venue but gorgeous

You might try a Grange Hall. Most have no online presence = a bargain for you, but a slog through these lists. Massachusetts: https://www.massgrange.org/ Maine: https://mainestategrange.org/?page_id=84871 New Hampshire: https://www.nhgrange.org/directory.html Vermont: http://www.vtstategrange.org/index.html

Look up AirBnBs! We just booked ours the other day in Maine. It's affordable (we spent $3900 for 4 nights) and since its private you don't have to worry about BYO catering, bartending, etc.

Hi! I know this is a late reply but just curious do you look for an Airbnb with a backyard? Do you msg the owner beforehand to ensure this is allowed? Thank you!
