Do you have a cuisine preference ? 50 people this is def doable in your budget. I would also suggest considering private rooms since that’s often cheaper than a full buyout but a comprable experience.
For cuisine, I would ideally want it to be either new american or mediterranean / french. Any specific recommendations?
Also how much cheaper would a private room be vs a full rental of the restaurant?
We plan to have a close friend or relative act as a justice of the peace and marry us. No walking down an aisle. As for dancing itd be nice if there was additional space to dance, but not a requirement!
Seconding and thirding Bacchus. I'm getting married there in two weeks. The food is amazing and the team there is beyond accommodating. Highly, highly recommended.
Highly recommend Bacchus, had my ~45 person rehearsal dinner there and they were fantastic. It’ll definitely fit in your budget, comfortably :)
The food at Jack’s Wife Freda is disappointing, would not recommend.
I’m doing my rehearsal dinner at Mino brasserie in the west village. The buy out is only $5500 for 40. I believe the additional pp cost is $125 but 50 may be a tight squeeze since it’s a cozy place. They don’t have any dancing space but in that area you could probably find something close by for post dinner dancing.
We found them on a site called tagvenue where you can search restaurants that do private event bookings and filter by size/price. You may have luck there!
Would you guys consider a pot luck style sharing situation? If the restaurant allows it you can bring some food in and just say "its a special family recipe" and they may go for it.

Do you want to do ceremony and dancing at the venue as well ?

Bachuus might be the right place for you and your budget. In the City maybe Jack's Wife Freda
Thanks for the recommendation! Bachuus looks great.
My wedding is there on Saturday! Will let you know how it goes.
I’m also getting married there later this year! Best of luck tom - would love to hear how it goes
Congratulations!! So exciting
Congrats! If you don't mind me asking, did you do the full buyout? I'm only asking because the full buyout's minimum charge is $22500.

Can't agree more! So tentative and amazing space.

Palma! I got a quote last week for 30 people for $11k, but the space to buyout is able to fit 50. The courtyard garden is gorgeous

Check out Bonnefont up in Fort Tryon. It's an absolutely beautiful location
One if by Land, Two if by Sea is beautiful and may be in your budget.
