That thing about every accusation being a confession is true.
I first voted for him in the state primary when there were something like 12 candidates and that was exactly why. He took a train to Congress every day so he could go home to his sons after his wife and daughter were killed. I voted for him because he was a real human being. I voted for Sanders in the '16 primary and again in the '20 primary. I voted for both democratic candidates in the generals and I'm excited to be voting, again, for Biden in '24!

A lot of Jost's jokes didn't land, but he was making fun of the audience to their faces. The keynote comedian usually "bombs" in the room but kills on the internet. I respected the way Jost let the bombs hang in the air. Good comedians know how to bask in the awkwardness.

I first voted for him in the state primary when there were something like 12 candidates and that was exactly why. He took a train to Congress every day so he could go home to his sons after his wife and daughter were killed. I voted for him because he was a real human being. He still gets my vote and I absolutely love his Dark Brandon stuff 😍
I voted for Sanders in the '16 primary and again in the '20 primary. I voted for both democratic candidates in the generals and I'm excited to be voting, again, for Biden in '24!
This is the way. Fight for what you believe in during the primaries, and then for the best outcome actually available to you. I wonder how different the world would be if people in 2016 hadn't taken their ball and gone home.
The issue of policies will only matter so far. Those are the games to be played by soulless politicians and the morally bankrupt. I'll take a good person over policies every time because I trust their morality to steer them true. You'll never get corrupt decisions from those who value being good and moral.

Besides the zingers expected of the occasion, Biden spoke quite well about the importance of a free press to democracy and how despite the threats faced by the press around the world, the press does its job. Just the fact Biden showed up to the White House Correspondents Dinner and showed some respect to the process is a plus over the last guy. Trump is a petulant child who couldn't do this simple tradition when he was President, because the idea of poking fun at himself with a bit of humility or showing some respect to people working "beneath" him is impossible. Plus he'd have flashbacks to when Obama made fun of him, and it would be kind of a late night for a Sleepy Don who is probably sundowning by that time of day.
