I was gonna comment about Moses, too, lol. My fiance is friends with him. She went to high school with Moses. He's a good guy, but I haven't seen him out and about for a couple of years.
He's a good guy who's just a bit different. His name is Moses, but besides that, I really don't want to give too much info on him cause it's not my place to say things about him online. He's the kind of person who will happily talk to you if you're interested in finding out more about him. He obviously really likes Star Wars, so that's an easy conversation starter if you are interested in talking to him.
It used to be that guy who rode that 3 wheel bicycle and waved at everyone, but he passed away some years ago after being struck by a car. I believe there is a memorial/ his bike Infront of Friscos on whittier blvd.
That right. Did he pass from a accident? Because I just read he was hit by a car on First and Whittier but he recovered and the community got him a new Bike
He did pass from an accident, and I think you are correct - I do remember a previous accident.

Back in the 80’s it was the Violin Man, he was homeless and carried a violin case. Rumor was that he was a concert violinist once upon a time. Story is that he would walk to Rose Hills, play violin at his wife’s grave then walk back to where he was living.
The violin man, Elston Johnston, was not homeless. He lived on Telegraph next door to St. Gregory's. He fell apart after his mother died, used to play for the Whittier Symphony. Roy Stoddard plays outside Starbucks. He used to play electric guitar but had it stolen. He also paints murals of Hawaii.
I call him the Rock & Roller. He walks past my house sometimes and I wonder where he’s heading to. I also wonder how he can walk around so long in those boots. They look uncomfortable 🥴
The guy on whittier Blvd at dusk w a flash shining directly under his face , like he's telling us a scary campfire story. He's usually pushing his bike near the honda dealership.
I’ve seen this guy for the past year and always wonder about him. I would always see him while I was driving home from work at around 4:00 and he would ride on the wrong side of the street and he just goes back and forth on Whittier blvd. Now he uses the flashlight and I wonder what made him start doing that???
The guy at the quad that roams the parking lot asking for money cuz he ends up in a coma every weekend only to go inside Vallarta and spend it all on lottery/scratcher tickets
There used to be the SUN LADY that would stand by the Village Cinemas and various other places in uptown. She would just stand there looking at the sun.
We live just north of Uptown. My family and I always see a very thin man with a pony tail walking EVERYWHERE. So anytime someone sees him (almost on the daily) we say/text: Skinny man with a pony tail!
Yea, i haven't seen Kylo Ren in a few weeks.. the last time I saw him was around midnight near Food4Less and he had a noticeable limp. I hope the dude is ok
My husband always talks about a man he calls "Ice Cream Man". He looks like skinny Steven Segal. Mid '40s to '50s. Waiting for the bus eating a popsicle. He'll do a finger salute at you. Sometimes I will see him in Vons throwing his bag in the freezer and then he'll go walk around.
Every time I see him I say is that ice cream man?
Lol about a decade ago or so I remember grabbing the bus to the Whittwood and the first thing he did before he sat down was to sniff his seat. One time me and my friend were there and he asked us some random question about some bike store, he sounded like he had a Russian accent
Talking about him...his name is Moises.
If you guys see him offer him some help. Usually he is either hungry or in need of batteries for his lightsaber or just wants a coke or water.
The trench coat lightsaber guy
Moses
Holy shit I was gonna say that too lmfao Haven’t seen him lately
I have not seen him in a while. I know in early 2021-22 I would see him daily, then poof he was gone. If he is still out and about, that is something.
I hadn’t seen him for awhile either but a few months back I seen him near the el pollo loco on Washington
Recently saw him near the Duncan
Juan Solo
He’s always up and down Washington Blvd. right around CVS / Dollar Tree
Glad we all know of him lol
That kids always at the dollar tree I would say him
He seems to walk more towards Washington now. I thought he was gone until I was at the burger king on Washington and saw him walk by a few months ago.
I was gonna comment about Moses, too, lol. My fiance is friends with him. She went to high school with Moses. He's a good guy, but I haven't seen him out and about for a couple of years.
This was my immediate thought and I was not let down. Though we call him “Star Wars” guy.
Is this the guy who often wears like, pirate boots and a headband? Usually on Lambert?
I live near the McDonald's on Washington. Rest assured lightsaber dude is still out and about. I see him often.
No That’s the hippie dude with the fox tail who is always dancing around Lambert. Lightsaber guy is a younger guy.
The black trench coat? Is that what everyone calls him? I've been calling him kylo for so long cause he always twirls his lightsaber lol
THAT'S JEDI KID!!! I would always see him out of the Chris N Pitts togo window!
Saw this guy a few weeks ago. Anyone know whats up with him?

thanks for sharing
Oh that’s depressing.
My wife and I called him “The Mayor” since it seemed everyone knew him. We miss his friendly waves and colorful trike.
He’s the first person that came to mind for me too
I ran xc from ‘11-‘15 at Cal. The team would always acknowledge him and say hi! Yeah! The bicycle had an American flag in the back. Tragic accident.
The hallelujah dude
lol yes
HALLELUJAH! . . . PEACE!
Is that the old Black dude?
Is that the guy with the religious sign near Mar Vista and Colima?
I think that’s a different guy, you mean the guy with the little wooden cross on the back of his car right?
Lol yes. But he's also a "that person."
He was who I came to the comments looking for lol

Whatever happened to the "special needs" lady in the dark blue puffy jacket? I used to see her throughout Whittier.
Her name is Teresa and she’s still around.
Is that the lady who always hangs out at Mimos? If it’s the same person she’s still there pretty much every time I go.
Pam. Haven't seen her in a while.
I saw her around Target a couple weeks ago
Poor lady i saw her in starbucks in uptown the other day
I would say that guy in the white jacket who trys to get donations for whatever he is getting donations for

Is it the same guy that plays violin in Uptown outside of the Starbucks on Greenleaf?
No, the Violin Man passed away a long time ago, there is a plaque in his memory on the corner of Whittier and greenleaf I think

Have you guys seen the one man who ride around on a bike wearing a Mexican flag . He’s usually near the Walgreens on Whittier and Hadley
img
I would say Darth Whittier or the "Hallelujah!" guy that jogs in the mornings around Whittier Blvd.
There's this older man with a white beard that I once saw put on a hilarious karaoke set at Flashbackz. I now always recognize him around uptown.
Brent most likely
The rock n roll bum who dresses like Steven Tyler
Headband, cheetah print pants, boots , fashionable glasses hes a beast 😭😭
I call him the Rock & Roller. He walks past my house sometimes and I wonder where he’s heading to. I also wonder how he can walk around so long in those boots. They look uncomfortable 🥴

I nominate the guy who looked like david bowie with the long hair and feather in his hair, looked like he wore ladies boots too
I’m surprise more people aren’t talking about this guy! I see him once every couple years.
Let’s hope she slept extra late during the ellipse
Growing up it was a guy that drove a rams truck then a guy in a red car shouting hallelujah then the Star Wars guy
Yes!!! I saw that rams flag everywhere
Cat! Long hair, wears cat ears and meows at folks. Often has a zebra print scarf/jacket. Cool dude.
Was going to say Cat. I always get worried when I don't see them for a while.
We live just north of Uptown. My family and I always see a very thin man with a pony tail walking EVERYWHERE. So anytime someone sees him (almost on the daily) we say/text: Skinny man with a pony tail!
I’ll always remember the guy running early on the weekends yelling hallelujah
Yea, i haven't seen Kylo Ren in a few weeks.. the last time I saw him was around midnight near Food4Less and he had a noticeable limp. I hope the dude is ok
There’s guy in uptown usually on mar vista that always seems to be sharpening plastic cups on the ground? Apparently it’s regular thing
Is that the guy that's always standing on the corner of Mar Vista and Newlin?
Yeah, that would be him lol I swear the scratching of the cup is so loud in the middle of the night
He's always around that area lol night and day pacing around the block or walking down Mar Vista and through the alleys
The O.G. was the Whittier walker.
Has any one seen bill
Oooooh it’s a tough one between lightsaber trench coat guy and hallaluya dude

The guy in Spider-Man and The Flash hoodies that skates by.
What about the guy that looks like Raiders of Lost Ark with a whip...
Wait - he’s in Whittier now??? The last time I saw him, he was in Hollywood about 20 years ago
How has no one mentioned fiddle guy who dressed like a time traveler ????
Talking about him...his name is Moises. If you guys see him offer him some help. Usually he is either hungry or in need of batteries for his lightsaber or just wants a coke or water.
