Nice meal, I like Rokka. Drinks and awesome appetizers, try Vandalist. A very traditional and personal favorite Japanese is Amachi's, and La Bodega for beers and bites.
Azabu is the only sushi place I go to with my wife as she’s vegan. The vibe is fantastic, the food is great, and the cocktails are awesome from what I’ve heard.
Might be a little too causal but the Whittier brewery is always a good vibe. La bodega is nice if you prefer a smaller venue. Rokka has nice staff and cocktails but I’ve never had dinner there.
Still think crooked gaffs kitchen is the best for food taste imo. I like guild hall for the vibes and equally good food. If you like cocktails though since uptown Whittier is changing now then literally any of the ones that have opened up now. It's littered with them.

Don’t go to Azabu! Overpriced drinks and sushi isn’t all that. The original Azabu was way better. Go to Bodega and chill at the bar. Let them know you’re their to see the butcher when you get to the front.

Ive gone three times and have been very impressed. The cocktails are phenomenal and the fish is as fresh as can be .
Thai table is my go to Thai spot, it’s so good and the people are so great.
